You are an experienced web specialist with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role with a background in communications, marketing, journalism or computer science. You have experience delivering strategic digital, mobile, social and video e-business, e-communications and marketing content to multiple stakeholders. You possess a sound understanding of both graphic and technical web production processes and software. Your hands on experience with web design, usability, analytics, web programming tools and ECM will make you a valuable contributor to this team. What would I be responsible for? As a Web Content & Marketing Specialist your primary responsibility would be the day to day operation and performance of Hydro Ottawa s public websites. This would include partnering with IM & IT to integrate Information Management and ebusiness projects through conceptualizing, implementing and optimizing innovative web techniques and technologies. Reporting to the Manager, Communications you would provide oversight of content management protocols and processes, influence content and functional elements, liaise with and provide support to internal stakeholders, monitor and analyze website performance metrics and assist in the planning and development of new web-based projects. Your ability to provide timely and strategic advice and counsel to clients and senior management make you an asset to this team. En quoi consisteraient mes responsabilités? En tant que spécialiste du contenu Web et du marketing, vous serez notamment responsable de l exploitation et de la performance au quotidien des sites Web publics d Hydro Ottawa. Vous serez entre autres appelé(e) à faire équipe avec GI et TI aux fins d incorporer les projets de gestion de l information et de commerce électronique en conceptant, en mettant en œuvre et en optimisant des techniques et technologies Web novatrices. Relevant du(de la) gestionnaire, Communications, vous assurerez la surveillance des protocoles et des processus de gestion du contenu, influerez sur le contenu et les éléments fonctionnels, assurerez la liaison avec les parties prenantes internes et leur offrirez du soutien, surveillerez et analyserez les mesures de performance des sites Web et contribuerez à la planification et à l élaboration de nouveaux produits Web. 3 POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: REPORTS TO: SUMMARY: Web Content and Marketing Specialist Manager, Communications Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Web Content and Marketing Specialist is responsible for the day to day operation and performance of Hydro Ottawa s public websites; the corporation s primary customer experience and marketing channel. This includes partnering with IM&IT technical staff to integrate Information Management and ebusiness projects through conceptualizing, implementing and optimizing innovative web techniques and technologies and championing the continuous improvement of an audience-centric web experience. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential responsibilities of the job include, but are not necessarily restricted to the following: Support and maintain content, performance and multimedia development Maintenance and oversight of content management protocols and processes on behalf of the company Influence content and functional elements using UX and mobile first standards and design principles, ensuring brand alignment and a rich user experience Liaise with and support internal stakeholders and team members to maximize the effectiveness of web and digital communications Monitor and analyze website performance metrics, user preferences and marketing outcomes and prepare reports for management Provide technical support, specifications and documentation Assist in planning and development of new web-based projects Identify, assess and recommend emerging communications, business and technological trends and best practices in regards to website navigation, electronic publishing, service delivery, analytics and marketing Ensure content and functionality comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as accessibility and privacy Participate in the company s Crisis Communications Team as required Other related duties as required 1

4 WEB CONTENT AND MARKETING SPECIALIST REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A post-secondary education in an appropriate field such as communications, marketing, journalism or computer science or an equivalent combination of experience and training in a related field A minimum of five years relevant experience championing and delivering strategic digital, mobile, social and video e-business, e-communications and marketing content and capabilities Hands-on experience applying web design, usability, analytics and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices including responsive web design (RWD), user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) Experience with current web programming tools and software including: HTML, CSS and working knowledge of JavaScript Experience with ECM (Enterprise Content Management Software) COMPETENCIES/SKILLS: Sound understanding of both graphic and technical web production processes and software including advanced knowledge of the Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft office products Able to judge visual and editorial quality and appropriateness of web content Knowledge of and the ability to implement the requirements of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Adept at providing timely, strategic advice and counsel to clients and senior management on the appropriate and effective development and use of web technologies and their role within business communications, customer engagement and marketing Is strategic, proactive, results oriented, creative and innovative Is focused on excellence with an emphasis on quality, continuous improvement and learning Exceptional client services skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Is detail oriented and timeline driven Excellent time management skills Is a team player LANGUAGE: English essential, both oral and written Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset 2
