MISSION ENGLISH Plastic by itself has little capacity to generate excitement. It is through shapes that a material like this can express itself and comes to life, turning itself into an object that tells a story. Only after it s melted, passing through the intricate labyrinth of a mould, and then transformed from a mere bag of pellets into a chair, it is only then that through its newly acquired shape it is able to express itself. In Barcelona Dd we don t see design as an added feature, we think it s an integral part of the product, the idea that defines it and makes it unique. It is this conviction that allows us to create objects that surprise and seduce, that make us fall in love and move us deeply. Even in plastic. ESPAÑOL El plástico, por sí solo, tiene muy poca capacidad para emocionar. Es a través de la forma que un material como éste se expresa, cobra vida, se convierte en objeto y nos cuenta una historia. Sólo después de fundirlo y de hacerlo pasar por el intrincado laberinto de un molde, de darle forma hasta que deja de ser un simple saco de granza y admite que es una silla, sólo entonces y a través de su nueva forma empieza a expresarse por sí mismo. En Barcelona Dd no entendemos el diseño como un valor añadido, sino como la misma esencia del producto, la idea que lo define y lo hace único. Gracias a esta convicción somos capaces de crear objetos que sorprendan y seduzcan, que nos enamoren y nos conmuevan. Incluso en plástico.
