POWERMAX45 CONTROL BOARD REPLACEMENT KIT DANGER ELECTRIC SHOCK CAN KILL Disconnect electrical power before performing any maintenance. See Section of the Operator Manual for more safety precautions. Introduction Purpose This field service bulletin describes the necessary steps for replacing the Powermax45 control board. POWERMAX45 CONTROL BOARD REPLACEMENT KIT Replace the control board. Turn OFF the power, disconnect the power cord, and disconnect the gas supply. 2. Remove the 2 screws from the handle on the top of the power supply. Remove the handle and then lift the cover off the power supply. Remove the Mylar barrier that protects the power board. 3. Detach the ribbon cable from the power board at J7 (200-240 V CSA and 230 V CE) or J8 (400 V CE). 4. Test the new control board before installing it by attaching its ribbon cable to the power board. NOTE: Make sure the control board is not touching the power board. Reconnect the power, turn the system on, and verify that the start LED on the control board is the only LED illuminated. Also, the fault LEDs on the front panel should be extinguished. 5. Disconnect the electrical power and the ribbon cable again, and set aside the new control board. Caution: Static electricity can damage circuit boards. Use proper precautions when handling printed circuit boards. Store PC boards in anti-static containers. Wear a grounded wrist strap when handling PC boards. 6. Remove the amperage control knob by pulling it straight out from the end panel. 7. Remove the screw from the bottom of the front end panel, then remove the panel or or gently tilt it away from the base. 8. Remove the 3 retaining screws from the old control board and lift it out of the power supply. Ribbon cable Control board 9. Screw the new control board into place with the 3 retaining screws and then attach the ribbon cable. 0. Press the amperage control knob onto the post. There is a flat side on the post. Ensure that the flat side of the opening in the knob aligns with the flat side on the post.. Reposition the front end panel. 2. Being careful not to pinch any of the wires, replace the Mylar barrier and slide the cover back onto the power supply. Position the handle over the holes in the top of the cover, then use the 2 screws to secure the cover. 3. Reconnect the electrical power and the gas supply. 2 Field Service Bulletin

KIT DE REMPLACEMENT DE CI DE COMMANDE DU POWERMAX45 Remplacer le CI de commande. Couper l alimentation (OFF), déconnecter le cordon d alimentation et débrancher le gaz d alimentation. 2. Desserrer les 2 vis de la poignée à la partie supérieure de la source de courant. Déposer la poignée puis soulever le capot pour le sortir de la source de courant. Déposer la barrière Mylar qui protège le CI d alimentation. 3. Détacher le câble plat du CI d alimentation à J7 (CSA 200-240 V et CE 230 V) ou J8 (CE 400 V). 4. Tester le CI de commande neuf avant de le mettre en place en fixant son câble plat au CI d alimentation. NOTE : S assurer que le CI de commande n est pas en contact avec le CI d alimentation. Reconnecter l alimentation (ON), mettre le système en marche (ON) et vérifier que la DEL d amorçage sur le CI de commande est la seule DEL allumée. De même, les DEL d anomalies sur le panneau avant doivent être éteintes. 5. Déconnecter également l alimentation électrique et le câble plat et mettre de côté le CI de commande neuf. Attention : L électricité statique peut endommager les circuits imprimés. Prendre les précautions qui s appliquent quand on manipule des circuits imprimés. Entreposer les circuits imprimés dans des contenants antistatiques. Porter un bracelet antistatique quand on manipule des CI de commande. 6. Enlever le bouton de réglage d intensité en le tirant droit pour le sortir du panneau d extrémité. 7. Desserrer la vis du fond du panneau d extrémité avant puis déposer le panneau ou l incliner légèrement de la base. 8. Desserrer les 3 vis de retenue du vieux CI de commande et le soulever pour le sortir de la source de courant. 9. Visser le CI de commande neuf avec les 3 vis de retenue puis raccorder le câble plat. 0. Appuyer sur le bouton de réglage d intensité sur le montant. Il y a un côté plat sur le montant. S assurer que le côté plat de l ouverture dans le bouton s aligne sur le côté plat du montant. Câble plat CI de commande. Repositionner le panneau d extrémité avant. 2. En prenant garde de ne pas pincer les fils, replacer la barrière Mylar et faire glisser le capot sur la source de courant. Positionner la poignée sur les trous à la partie supérieure du capot puis fixer le capot avec les 2 vis. 3.
