As a Web Content & Marketing Specialist your primary responsibility would be the day to day operation and performance of Hydro Ottawa s public websites. This would include partnering with IM & IT to integrate Information Management and ebusiness projects through conceptualizing, implementing and optimizing innovative web techniques and technologies. Reporting to the Manager, Communications you would provide oversight of content management protocols and processes, influence content and functional elements, liaise with and provide support to internal stakeholders, monitor and analyze website performance metrics and assist in the planning and development of new web-based projects. Your ability to provide timely and strategic advice and counsel to clients and senior management make you an asset to this team. WEB CONTENT AND MARKETING SPECIALIST REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A post-secondary education in an appropriate field such as communications, marketing, journalism or computer science or an equivalent combination of experience and training in a related field A minimum of five years relevant experience championing and delivering strategic digital, mobile, social and video e-business, e-communications and marketing content and capabilities Hands-on experience applying web design, usability, analytics and search engine optimization (SEO) best practices including responsive web design (RWD), user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) Experience with current web programming tools and software including: HTML, CSS and working knowledge of JavaScript Experience with ECM (Enterprise Content Management Software) COMPETENCIES/SKILLS: Sound understanding of both graphic and technical web production processes and software including advanced knowledge of the Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft office products Able to judge visual and editorial quality and appropriateness of web content Knowledge of and the ability to implement the requirements of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Adept at providing timely, strategic advice and counsel to clients and senior management on the appropriate and effective development and use of web technologies and their role within business communications, customer engagement and marketing Is strategic, proactive, results oriented, creative and innovative Is focused on excellence with an emphasis on quality, continuous improvement and learning Exceptional client services skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Is detail oriented and timeline driven Excellent time management skills Is a team player LANGUAGE: English essential, both oral and written Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset 2
