Interoperability challenges Software solutions of the healthcare providers need to get connected Software of different vendors From different medical domains, with different workflows Related to technical interoperability Different software software solutions Different or no exchange protocols are supported Different programming languages and API s used Related to semantic interoperability Official (e.g. ICD/CCAM) but also different local codifications used Different persistent representation of medical information Non-structured medical documents 7
Interoperability activities Specification of Connectivity-Kit For supporting vendors and IT-Departments to connect with esanté platform services Compliance to different IHE profile specifications (e.g. XDS.b) Specification of content models for medical documents Based on HL7 CDA Different CDA R2 levels, dependent of the medical domain Specification of: Reference catalogues for different domains (e.g. based on LOINC for laboratories) Code- and ValueSets 8
Interoperability activities Interoperability test and validation environment Support tests to proof compliance with published interoperability standards IHE Gazelle service for CDA specification compliance testing: Provided for IT experts of institutions and also to support software vendors Next steps Further detailed specification of test-plans and extended tool support Software quality labeling for platform connectivity 9
