WARNING! XBM remote start can ONLY be installed on vehicles that have the following factory options: Automatic Transmission Remote Keyless Entry Immobilizer The installation procedures differ between SKIM(WCM) and WinFobik based vehicles. With the WinFobik based vehicle, the sales code must be added to the database and the Restore Vehicle Configuration (using the StarMobile tool) must be performed prior to installing the new WIN module. Failure to do so will render the WIN module s remote start function inoperative. The technician should wait 1/2 hour between adding XBM sales code in DealerConnect before installing the WIN module & restoring vehicle configuration. In the interim, the technician can install all other components except the WIN module. Download the following Service Manual documents from Dealer Connect before proceeding with installation. 1. VEHICLE PREPARATION 1. Lower one or more of the passenger windows so the keys do not get locked in the vehicle. 2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. The battery will need to be re-connected before programming. 3. Disassemble and remove keys from old transmitters, install into provided new transmitters. Other steps will include replacement procedure of the WIN, antenna installation, hood switch installation, and uploading of vehicle configuration from Dealer Connect. Refer to the vehicle Service Manual for specific installation procedures for all components except the hood switch harness, which is covered here in detail. Update Vehicle Configuration 1.Vehicle Vin must be updated with the sales code of the added accessory in order to enable system functionality. Using the DealerCONNECT website and a StarMobile diagnostic tool, complete the following procedure: a. Log on to https://dealerconnect.chrysler.com 3 of 17
b. In the Vehicle Option screen under the Global Claims System category in the Service tab, enter vehicle VIN and add sales code(s) noted below as a Dealer Installed Option. XBM (REMOTE START) c. Confirm that the new sales code has been sucessfully added to the VIN. d. With the StarMobile diagnostic tool connected to both the internet (via Ethernet port or wireless connection) and the vehicle, perform the following steps from the Initial Start Up Screen: 1. Using a 10 mm socket, remove the negative battery cable. This vehicle may be equipped with a Factory Installed hood switch harness. This harness will not be visible but will be secured to the factory harness located just below the TIPM. If this harness is present, Refer to step a in the Hood Switch Harness Installation section below and connect the hood pin switch as described, then proceed to Remote Start Antenna Installation and continue with this instruction manual. If this vehicle DOES NOT have a factory installed hood switch harness (one is supplied in the kit), proceed with the complete Hood Switch Harness Installation procedure. 5 of 17 Factory Harness Location
Hood Switch, Harness and Bracket Installation 1. Routing and connection of the hood switch harness. a. Locate the hood switch bracket mounting location in the front left fender, near the TIPM. Mounting Bracket Mounting Location b. Using the provided mounting screw, secure the harness ground and the hood switch mounting bracket to the front fender in the location identified in the previous step. TIPM Ground wire and provided mounting screw c. Route the hood switch harness connector up through the mounting bracket and connect the hood switch. Push the hood switch into the bracket until properly seated. 6 of 17
2. Access the connectors underneath the TIPM a. Using a 13 mm socket, remove the positive battery feed to the TIPM. TIPM Mounting tabs b. Access connectors at the bottom of the TIPM by releasing the (4) tabs in the corners of the TIPM and lifting upward. Positive Battery Feed 3. Connect the hood switch wire a. Unplug the D connector from the TIPM D connector b. Remove the Secondary Lock from the rear of the connector. Secondary Lock c. Remove the weather seal from the rear of the connector. Weather Seal 7 of 17
d. Remove the front portion of the connector from the connector housing. This portion of the connector aligns the terminals properly within the connector housing. e. Route the Purple/White wire from the hood switch harness through the secondary lock, through the weather seal and into the terminal 3 (G70 circuit) slot of the connector housing. Pin 3 (G70 circuit) Wire End View f. Reinstall the front portion of the connector, observing that all terminals are seated correctly and are in the right direction. Reinstall the weather seal and the secondary lock. g. Reinstall the connector into the TIPM. 8 of 17 Pin #3
4. Resecure the TIPM a. Resecure the TIPM onto the TIPM mounting bracket by engaging the (4) mounting tabs. TIPM Mounting tabs b. Using a 13 mm socket, reattach the positive battery feed. Positive Battery Feed Antenna Installation 1. Antenna Installation Procedure. a. Remove the trim panel located at the front of the dash, near the windshield. This panel is secured with (6) retaining clips. Retaining Clips (5 shown) 9 of 17
b. Remove (5) phillips screws securing the dash trim to the assembly. (5) Screws c. Remove the (2) phillips screws right above the radio. These screws secure the center trim to the dash assembly. d. Pry the trim upward and remove. 10 of 17
e. Remove the (6) plastic retainers holding the lower console trim in place (3 each side). Plastic Retainers (3 each side) f. Remove the (4) phillips screws securing the trim around the radio and heater controls. Remove trim. (4) Screws (2) Screws g. Remove the (2) phillips screws under the upper center trim panel. These screws secure the dash trim to the assembly. 11 of 17
h. Remove the trim panel located on the left side of the dash, by partially removing the door weather strip and pulling outward, releasing the (4) retaining clips. i. Remove the T-20 screw located behind the trim panel. T-20 Screw j. Remove the lower dash trim panel by removing (2) T-20 screws and pulling rearward to release the (5) retaining clips. k. Remove the trim piece located around the head light switch, by pulling rearward to release the (4) retaining clips. Unplug the headlight switch. l. Remove the T-15 screw securing the gear shift handle. m. Remove the trim located around the key. 13 of 17
n. Remove the Phillips screw located to the right of the key, behind the radio trim panel. o. Remove the trim piece around the gauge cluster. p. Remove the (4) Phillips screws securing the guage cluster. Do not unplug dash cluster to access the antenna routing path. 14 of 17
q. Using the supplied mounting hardware, mount the remote start antenna to the top of the dash assembly. r. Route the antenna wire down through the dash assembly to the WIN module. WIN Replacement ** Orginal WIN must be removed and the new WIN must be installed ** 1. Si el vehículo cuenta con este cableado, consulte el paso a de la sección Instalación del cableado del interruptor del capó más abajo, conecte el interruptor de la clavija del capó, luego proceda con la Instalación de la antena de arranque remoto y continúe con este manual de instrucciones. Instalación del soporte, del cableado y del interruptor del capó 1. Enrutar y conectar el cableado del interruptor del capó. a. Busque la ubicación de montaje del soporte del interruptor del capó frente al guardabarros izquierdo, cerca del TIPM. localización del montaje Soporte de montaje b. Utilizando el tornillo de montaje suministrado, sujete la conexión a tierra del cableado y el soporte de montaje del interruptor del capó al guardabarros frontal en la ubicación identificada en el paso anterior. d. Extraiga de la carcasa del conector la parte frontal del conector. Esta parte del conector se alinea perfectamente con los terminales de la carcasa del conector. e. Enrute el cable Púrpura/Blanco desde el cableado del interruptor del capó, a través del bloqueo secundario y de la cubierta de goma, hacia la ranura 3 (circuito G70) del terminal de la carcasa del conector. Vuelva a instalar la parte frontal del conector y observe que todos los terminales estén instalados correctamente y en la dirección correcta. Vuelva a instalar la cubierta de goma y el bloqueo secundario. g. Vuelva a instalar el conector en el TIPM. 8 de 17 Pin #3
4. Volver a fijar el TIPM a. Vuelva a fijar el TIPM en el soporte de montaje del TIPM enganchando las (4) lengüetas de montaje. Lengüetas de montaje del TIPM b. Quite la vestidura ubicada en la parte de adelante del tablero, cerca del parabrisas. Este panel se asegura con (6) broches de retención. Broches de retención (se muestran los 5) 9 de 17
b. Quite los (5) tornillos Phillips que sujetan la vestidura del tablero al ensamble. c. Retire los (2) tornillos Phillips ubicados encima de la radio. Estos tornillos sujetan la vestidura central al ensamble del tablero. (5) Tornillos d. Muévalo hacia arriba y quítelo. 10 of 17
e. Quite los (6) sujetadores de plástico que sostienen la vestidura de la consola inferior en su lugar (3 de cada lado). Sujetadores plásticos (3 de cada lado) f. Retire los (4) tornillos Phillips que sujetan la vestidura alrededor de los controles de la radio y la calefacción. Retire la vestidura. (4) Tornillos (2) Tornillos g. Quite los (2) tornillos Phillips debajo de la vestidura central del panel superior. Estos tornillos sujetan la vestidura del tablero al ensamble. 11 of 17
h. Retire la vestidura ubicada del lado izquierdo del tablero, retirando parcialmente el burlete y tirando hacia afuera, luego libere los (4) broches de retención. i. Retire el tornillo T-20 ubicado detrás de la vestidura. Tornillo T-20 j. Quite la vestidura del tablero inferior retirando (2) tornillos T-20 y tire hacia afuera para liberar los (5) broches de retención. Tornillos T-20 12 of 17
k. Retire la pieza de la vestidura ubicada alrededor del interruptor de las luces delanteras, deslizando hacia atrás para liberar los (4) broches de retención. Desconecte el interruptor de las luces delanteras. l. Retire el tornillo T-15 que sujeta el mango de la palanca de cambios. m. Retire la vestidura ubicada alrededor de la llave. 13 of 17
n. Retire el tornillo Phillips ubicado a la derecha de la llave, debajo de la vestidura de la radio. o. Quite la vestidura alrededor del tablero de instrumentos. p. AVERTISSEMENT! Le démarrage à distance XBM peut être installé SEULEMENT sur des véhicules dotés des options d usine suivantes : Transmission automatique Entrée sans clé à distance Immobiliseur Les procédures d installation sont différentes pour les véhicules avec SKIM(WCM) et ceux avec WinFobik. Pour les véhicules dotés de WinFobik, le code de vente doit être ajouté à la base de données et la restauration de la configuration du véhicule doit être effectuée (avec l outil StarMobile) avant l installation du module WIN. Si cette procédure n est pas respectée, la fonction de démarrage à distance du module WIN n est pas opérationnelle. Le technicien doit attendre 1/2 heure entre l ajout du code de vente XBM dans DealerConnect avant d installer le module WIN et de restaurer la configuration du véhicule. Pendant cette attente, le technicien peut installer tous les éléments, sauf le module WIN. Téléchargez les documents suivants du manuel de réparations à partir de la connexion du concessionnaire avant de procéder à l installation. 1. Procédure du remplacement du module WIN. 2 / 17
PRÉPARATION DU VÉHICULE 1. Abaissez une ou plusieurs fenêtres du véhicule afin que les clés ne restent pas bloquées à l intérieur. 2. Débranchez et isolez le câble négatif de la batterie. La batterie devra être rebranchée avant la programmation. 3. Démontez et retirez les boutons des anciens émetteurs, installez les nouveaux émetteurs fournis. Les autres étapes comprennent également la procédure de remplacement du WIN, l installation de l antenne, l installation du commutateur de capot et l envoi de la configuration du véhicule à partir de la connexion du concessionnaire. Consultez le manuel de réparation/entretien pour les procédures d installation spécifiques pour tous les composants, à l exception du faisceau du commutateur du capot qui est couvert en détail dans ce document. Mise à jour de la configuration du véhicule 1. Le numéro d identification du véhicule doit être mis à jour avec le code de vente de l accessoire ajouté afin de pouvoir activer la fonctionnalité du système. En utilisant le site Web de concessionnaire DealerCONNECT et un outil de diagnostic StarMobile, procédez comme suit : a. Connectez-vous à https://dealerconnect.chrysler.com 3 / 17
b. Dans l écran «Vehicle Option» (Options du véhicule) sous la catégorie «Global Claims System» (Système de réclamation générale), entrez le numéro d identification du véhicule et ajoutez le ou les codes(s) relevés sous «Dealer Installed Option» (Option installée par le concessionnaire). XBM (DÉMARRAGE À DISTANCE) c. Confirmez que le nouveau code de vente a bien été ajouté au numéro d identification du véhicule. d. Avec l outil de diagnostic StarMobile connecté à l internet (par le biais du port Ethernet ou de la connexion sans fil) et au véhicule, procédez aux étapes suivantes à partir de l écran de démarrage initial : 1. Appuyez sur PRÉPARATION DU VÉHICULE 2. En appuyant, mettez en surbrillance 3. Appuyez sur DÉMARRER RESTAURER LA CONFIGURATION DU VÉHICULE 4. Appuyez sur SUIVANT 5. Au besoin, sélectionnez la gamme et l année du modèle du véhicule et appuyez sur SUIVANT 6. Confirmez la sélection et appuyez sur SUIVANT 7. Entrez le numéro d identification du véhicule en utilisant le clavier logiciel ou confirmez le numéro d identification du véhicule automatique et appuyez sur SUIVANT 8. Appuyez sur OK 9. Entrez l ID de l utilisateur, le mot de passe et le code du concessionnaire en utilisant le clavier affiché et appuyez sur OK 10. Patientez jusqu à la fin du téléchargement des données de configuration et appuyez sur SUIVANT 11. Appuyez sur SUIVANT 12. Confirmez que la configuration du véhicule a été correctement programmée. 13. Relevez les instructions affichées et appuyez sur FINIR 4 / 17

Appuyez sur INFORMATIONS DE CONFIGURATION 6. Basculez pour vérifier : Nom Valeur DÉMARRAGE À DISTANCE PRÉSENT RÉGLÉ Installation : Débranchez la terre de la batterie 1. Retirez la terre de la batterie a. En utilisant un raccord de 10 mm, retirez le câble négatif de la batterie. Ce véhicule peut être équipé d un faisceau de commutateur de capot «installé en usine». Ce faisceau n est pas visible mais sera fixé au faisceau d usine situé juste sous le module d alimentation intégré (TIPM). Si ce harnais est présent, reportez-vous à l étape «a», section «Installation du faisceau du commutateur du capot» ci-dessous et branchez le commutateur à broches du capot comme décrit, puis passez à la section «Installation de l antenne de démarrage à distance» et continuez la lecture du manuel d instructions.
