Alignment Effects and Circular Polarisation uses (soft X ray) on dilute species Study of dilute species (atoms, molecules, ions, clusters and adsorbates) after soft X ray irradiation beamline proposal (APD SOLEIL period (1998)) and approved by the Scientific Council. The beamline proposal has been updated this year through active participation of a large working group. The beamline will be designed for high spectral resolution performances in the 10-1000 ev energy region and will provide light with variable polarization. Scientific case: a common interest arose in the development of the new opportunities offered with the use of the various polarisation states of the incident photon beam.
