Rahmi KOÇ Müzesi First Machine in The Museum We are so glad that this object, which is a very good example of the way in which consumer goods were designed in the past in Turkey, has been donated to our museum. TOLON firm, which continues its commercial activities in zmir, started the manufacturing of this washing machine that was designed for house utilization just after the 2nd World War. Boiler, centrifuge and covers of this machine were made of rustproof pure copper with the aim eliminating the risk of abrasion. Rahmi KOÇ Museum Premiere Machine Dans la Musée Nous sommes extrêmement heureux que cet objet soit offert à notre musée, c est un bel exemple qui nous montre comment les biens de consommation étaient conçus en Turquie dans le passé. La société TOLON qui poursuit actuellement ses activités commerciales à Izmir a commencé à Bursa la production de cette machine à laver conçue juste après la deuxieme guerre mondiale pour l usage ménager. EN FR Brand of the Firsts, since 1937... Our grandfathers has started to make TOLON the brand of the firsts in 1937 with the production of the first loom in Turkey. They were trying to prove to the whole world the industrial capabilites of Turkey by their innovations following each other and during the years of 1940s, they have designed the first centrifugal water pump, first combine harvester, first home type washing machine including it s own electrical motor because of the difficulties in imports and then the first electrical motor of Turkey and they also helped us to show from where our production soul is coming from. As the years went by, many things have changed including the conditions of living and after the big fire of Bursa Tolon company had to interrupt it s productions for some period of time. Starting from 1985, Turkey s first industrial type full automatic washing machine and mangle machine were launched and this period was the re-start of the company by M. Dara TOLON and now the company has already started to open itself to the entire world markets. And now today, with the only legacy of production soul and skill from our grandfathers, we are proud to present the best work we can do in the Organized Industrial Zone in Turkey s second biggest seaboard city, zmir in our factory. Nos grands-parents ont commencé en 1937 de faire de Tolon la marque des premiers en fabriquant le premier métier de tissage. Ils ont fait gagner à notre pays la première pompe centrifuge, la première moissonneuse, la première la première machine à laver de type ménager y compris son propre moteur,con ue comme l'importation était difficile, puis le moteur électrique à la suite de leurs inventions successives dans les années 1940 et suivantes comme s ils voulaient, peut-être, prouver au monde que l industrie existe en Turquie à cette époque-là et ils nous ont aidé à montrer d où nous avons hérité l esprit de produire. La société TOLON a interrompu sa production pour une durée à la suite du grand incendie de Bursa en raison des conditions de vie et d époque qui ont changé. La société qui a recommencé ses activités en 1985 avec M. Dara TOLON en produisant les premiers lavelinge et les sèche-linges entièrement automatiques de type industriel commence désormais à s ouvrir aux marchés mondiaux. In the electric heated models the heat is controlled by thermostat. As for the steam models, they have a speed adjustment option (fast - slow). The OPTIONAL features are the control unit P.L.C for the speed adjustment, the teflon coated main cylinder and the frequency inventor for the rotation adjustment.
