MARION WAGSCHAL BIOGRAPHIE Originaire de Port-d Espagne, en Trinité, Marion Wagschal est venue au Canada en 1951. Elle a complété son baccalauréat et sa maîtrise à l Université Concordia, anciennement appelée Sir Williams College. Dernièrement, Wagschal prit sa retraite après une longue carrière de professeure au sein du Département de peinture et dessin de la Faculté des beaux-arts de l Université Concordia, où elle a enseigné pendant 37 ans. Durant ses années d enseignement à Concordia, elle a développé le séminaire/atelier novateur Women and Painting.Elle est récipiendaire de plusieurs bourses du Conseil des arts du Canada, elle est membre de l Académie royale des arts du Canada et ses œuvres font parti de nombreuses collections privées et publiques, telles que le Musée d art contemporain de Montréal, Le Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal et la Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. MARION WAGSCHAL BIOGRAPHY Marion Wagschal came to Canada in 1951 from Port of Spain Trinidad. She completed her undergraduate and graduate training at Concordia University, formerly Sir George Williams College. Wagschal recently retired after a long career as a professor in the Painting and Drawing Department in the Fine Arts Faculty at Concordia University where she taught for 37 years. While teaching at Concordia she introduced the innovative seminar/studio course, Women and Painting. She is the recipient of Canada Council arts grants, an RCA member and is represented in numerous private and public collections, such as the Musée d art Contemporain de Montreal, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Recent exhibitions include a retrospective at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, as well as survey of her paintings at The Burke Gallery (Plattsburg, NY) and the Anna LeonOwens Gallery at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (Halifax, NS). She was an invited artist at Yaddo (Saratoga Springs, NY) and the Banff Center for the Arts Women and Paint residency (Banff, AB). Marion Wagschal lives and works in Montreal.
