Background The PLM WG is launched as a sub-activity of CAEC and complements the work currently done by the GUCS. GUCS focuses on the needs of designers using the native Catia-SmarTeam at the CERN site. PLM WG includes as well the needs of other users of CAE data, like project managers, engineers, physicists, outside collaborators and institutes, workshops and sub-contracting companies. 22.01.2010 A. Mandate The PLM WG is to define processes needed for efficient life-cycle management of CAE data at CERN and is to coordinate the adoption, use and evolution of these processes throughout the organization. The PLM WG ensures at CERN level the coherence and the consistency in matters related to PLM at CERN. The PLM WG is mandated by CAEC, reports to CAEC and works in close collaboration with GUCS in PLM issues attaining to CAD tools (Catia and Smarteam). Initial action list As a first priority the focus shall be in Catia-SmT data management: Definition of lifecycles for CAD data. Definition of roles attributed to relevant players involved in the product lifecycle. Access rights and release mechanisms for Catia-SmT 3D and 2D design data. Access mechanisms to Catia-SmarTeam data from other software tools (e.g. via the web), ranging from consulting to full data exchange. Accesses both from inside and outside CERN. Spécifications d une interface d accès universel (web) aux données CAO Première étape : 1. Spécifications simplifiées pour une phase de test sur un/deux projets pilotes Action immédiate 1 er projet pilote identifié (Atlas Upgrade R. Vuillermet), participation des partenaires externes. Déploiement de CWN (CAD Web Navigator) en modalité «Guest» (navigation et lecture seules), accès restreint, possibilité de téléchargement des données CAO. Conversion des données «checked-in» en format neutre (HPGL et STEP) Tests en cours. Le retour d expérience doit permettre une consolidation des spécifications générales. 22.01.2010 A. Spécifications d une interface d accès universel (web) aux données CAO Deuxième étape : 1. Spécifications générales pour une utilisation globale au CERN et parmi les partenaires. Action à moyen terme. Gestion du cycle de vie depuis l interface. La formalisation des spécification implique: Choix entre une gestion basée sur le document ou sur l article (2 ème option favorite) Définition des cycles de vie des objets Définition des actions sur les objets possibles. Définition d une structure projet dans Smarteam Créer une structure cohérente dans Smarteam pour tous les projets des Bureaux d études mécaniques. Utiliser un découpage des produits selon le principe du code équipement CDD (pro: existent et rependu contre: pas toujours de cohérence entre logique «mécanique» et logique «PBS» CERN).
