Thus after Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland we now have almost complete coverage of Europe with EIBA representatives. Our aim is to promote the European Installation Bus worldwide as a future-orientated intelligent bus system. The EIB trade mark should become a symbol of quality famous throughout the world. Damit verfügen wir nach Österreich, Belgien, Dänemark, Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, Niederlande, Spanien, Schweden und Schweiz über eine in Europa nahezu flächendeckende Präsenz mit EIBA-Interessensvertretungen. 2 EDITORIAL Dear ElBA Members, Dear EIB Licensees EIBA was founded in 1990 and had two main aims, also anchored in the EIBA statutes: 1. To establish the EIB trade mark as a symbol of quality which demands technical specification and a well functioning process of certification. 2. Promotion of the Building Management System on the basis of the EIB technology. Initial attempts at a promotion campaign throughout Europe showed that despite the reorientation of the wiring specifications achieved by IEC and CENELEC other national peculiarities and differences have to be taken into consideration in order to be able to meet the specific needs of customers in individual countries. The EIBA management has therefore drawn up guidelines concerning the organisation and responsibilities of national EIBA groups in order to have a forum which can communicate the benefits of the European Installation Bus in the language of each country. For this reason the national EIBA organisation and its activities form the focus of this second issue of the EIB journal. Naturally other important subjects such as EIB certification and the development workshops etc. soon to be implemented are also on the agenda. Reports on interesting new products are also included. EIBA wurde 1990 gegründet und hatte dabei zwei Hauptziele, die auch in den EIBA-Statuten verankert sind: 1. Das EIB-Warenzeichen als Qualitätsmerkmal auf dem Markt zu etablieren, was eine technische Spezifikation und ein gut funktionierendes Zertifikationsverfahren erfordert, 2. Die Förderung der Gebäudesystemtechnik auf den Grundlagen der EIB-Technologie. Anfängliche Versuche einer europaweiten Förderungskampagne führten zu der Erkenntnis, daß trotz der durch IEC und CENELEC erreichten Angleichung der Verdrahtungsbestimmungen die nationalen Besonderheiten und Unterschiede berücksichtigt werden müssen, um den speziellen Wünschen der Kunden in den einzelnen Ländern entsprechen zu können. Die EIBA-Geschäftsführung hat deshalb Richtlinien für die Organisation und Verantwortung von nationalen EIBA-Gruppen geschaffen, um so ein Forum zu haben, das die Vorteile des Europäischen Installationsbusses in der jeweiligen Landessprache vermitteln kann. Im Mittelpunkt dieser zweiten Ausgabe des EIB-Journal stehen deshalb die nationalen EIBA-Organisation und ihre Aktivitäten. Natürlich werden auch andere wichtige Themen, wie z.b. der Stand der Normung, der bevorstehende Entwickler-Workshop usw. behandelt. Auch über interessante neue Produkte wird berichtet. Imposer la marque EIB en tant que label de qualité sur le marché, ce qui exige une spécification technique et une procédure. 2. Promouvoir fondée sur la technologie EIB. Malgré l harmonisation des réglementations obtenues par IEC et CENELEC dans le domaine du câblage, les premières tentatives d une campagne de lancement à l échelle européenne ont démontré la nécessité de prendre en compte les spécificités et les particularités nationales, si l on voulait être à même de répondre aux exigences particulières de tous nos clients européens. La Direction de l association EIBA a donc établi des directives sur l organisation et les responsabilités des associations nationales EIBA, dans le but de mettre en place un forum qui soit en mesure de promouvoir, dans la langue du pays, les avantages offerts par le bus d installation européen. L organisation EIBA sur le plan national et ses activités seront par conséquent au centre de cette seconde édition du Journal EIB. Bien entendu, d autres thèmes majeurs, tels que par exemple l'état de la normalisation et les ateliers de développement, seront également traités. 3 EIBA NATIONAL EIBA National (continunation from page 1) EIBA Nationale (Fortsetzung von Seite 1) Les Groupes Nationaux EIBA (suite de la page 1) Achieving these objectives, taking into consideration the normal installation procedures and systems used in specific countries and other regional structures relevant to the EIB, is a task which cannot be handled centrally by EIBA in Brussels or by individual EIBA member companies. Decentralised organisational units in close touch with each market are necessary, formed on the basis of co-operation and for division of risk. Our EIBA nationals are understood primarily as marketing organisations, whereby the success of EIB in one s own country is the prime objective. Not only do they provide EIBA member companies who work only in the relevant countries with a platform to put forward their ideas and interests, but they also give smaller and medium-sized companies who often work mainly at the national level an important opportunity soll zu einem weltweit anerkannten Gütesiegel ausgebaut werden. Notwendig sind hier dezentrale, marktnahe Organisationseinheiten, die sich auf Basis von Kooperation und Teilung von Risiken zusammengeschlossen haben. Unsere EIBA Nationalen verstehen sich in erster Linie als Marketingorganisation, wobei als vordringliches Ziel die Durchsetzung des EIB im eigenen Land verfolgt wird. Sie bieten nicht nur den in le monde entier comme un label de qualité. Pour réaliser ces objectifs, il est nécessaire de tenir compte, pour chaque pays, des habitudes en matière d installations électriques et des structures régionales. Cette tâche ne pourra être menée à bien ni par l organisation centrale de EIBA à Bruxelles ni par les sociétés membres de l association. Il est donc indispensable de mettre en place des organisations décentralisées, répondant parfaitement aux besoins du marché national et composées de sociétés prêtes à coopérer et à partager les risques. Les associations nationales EIBA sont avant tout des organisations de marketing, dont l objectif essentiel est de promouvoir le système EIB dans leur pays. 4 EIBA NATIONAL den jeweiligen Ländern agierenden EIBA-Mitgliedsfirmen eine Plattform, um ihre Interessen einzubringen. Vielmehr sollen auch kleineren und mittleren, oft überwiegend national agierenden Unternehmen Mitwirkungsmöglichkeiten aufgezeigt werden. Vor allem diese liefern oft Produkte mit Anwendungen, die auf Landesbedürfnisse zugeschnitten sind. Nur wenn es gelingt, eine maximale Anzahl von Unternehmen in allen Ländern zu überzeugen, ihre Unternehmenspolitik und die Entwicklung ihrer Produkte am EIB Standard zu orientieren, werden wir Erfolg haben. Die EIBA will und muß sich für neue Gewerke und Dienstleistungen öffnen. Zu begrüßen sind deshalb Aktivitäten der nationalen EIBA-Gruppen, die Institute, Behörden und Interessensverbände wichtiger Zielgruppen in ihren Organisationen ohne offizielle EIBA-Mitgliedschaft mitarbeiten lassen. Hier können Voraussetzungen und Interesse für eine spätere Mitgliedschaft geschaffen werden. Ein Markterfolg im Land ist unmittelbar abhängig von Definition und Ausführung landesspezifischer Marketinginstrumente und -maßnahmen. Nur diese können für die notwendige Bekanntheit und Übermittlung von Wettbewerbsvorteilen unseres EIB sorgen. Als geeignetes Instrument haben sich in der Vergangenheit hierbei gemeinsame Messestände für Landesmessen erwiesen. Eine wirkungsvolle gemeinsame Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit im Land sind ebenfalls wichtige Instrumente für ein überzeugendes Marketing. Entscheindend ist, daß alle Aktivitäten zum EIB bei den landesspezifischen Zielgruppen positiv erlebbar und erinnerbar werden. Konkret erfordert die Beeinflussung von landesspezifischen Installationsgewohnheiten im Sinne des EIB eine aktive Mitarbeit in nationalen Normungsgre- to become involved. It is often just such companies which frequently supply products with applications customised for local requirements. We will only succeed if we can convince most companies in every country to base their policies and product development on the EIB standard. EIBA must be open to new ideas and services. For this reason any activities of EIBA national groups which allow institutions, authorities and associations in the major target groups to participate in their organisations without needing initially to become official members of the EIBA are to be heartily welcomed. This can create the right conditions for and interest in membership at a later date. Success in the marketplace in any country directly depends on defining and creating specific marketing tools and campaigns. Only these can provide the level of familiarity needed and demonstrate the competitive benefits of our EIB. In the past, joint stands at national exhibitions have proved a suitable tool for this job. An effective joint press and publicity campaign in the country concerned is also an important instrument in a convincing marketing strategy. It is critically important that all activity involving the EIB should be a positive and memorable experience for the target groups in their countries. Influencing local installation procedures and habits in the sense of the EIB demands active involvement by EIBA national bodies in national standards committees. Countries should give incentives for the further development of the EIB. Without training and increasing the competence of our target groups on site in the relevant countries it will be very difficult to market the EIB throughout any single country. There are also many other activities which are to be welégalement d'inciter la collaboration de petites et moyennes entreprises, dont le champ d action se limite en générale au marché national. Notre succès depend de la réussite de cette entreprise. EIBA veut et doit s ouvrir à de nouvelles activités et à de nouveaux services. C est pourquoi nous saluons les initiatives des associations nationales EIBA, permettant une collaboration sans adhésion officielle des différents instituts, administrations et associations des principaux groupes-cibles. Ceci permet de susciter leur intérêt et de créer les conditions d'une future participation en bonne et due forme. La réussite sur chaque marché national dépend de la définition et de la conception d'outils marketing spécifiques. Ce sont là des conditions indispensables pour donner à notre système EIB la notoriété nécessaire et pour démontrer ses avantages par rapport à la concurrence. Le meilleur moyen utilisé jusqu à présent était la présentation d un stand commun à l occasion d une exposition nationale. Pour développer un marketing aussi persuasif que possible, il faut également insister sur une action commune sur le plan de l information et des relations publiques. Il est important que toutes les formes de promotion du système EIB auprès des groupes d intérêts nationaux soient des actions frappantes et positivement réalisables. Pour pouvoir influencer les procédures et les usages locaux en matière d'installations dans le sens voulu par EIB, il importe que les associations nationales EIBA prennent une part active aux travaux des commissions de nor- 4 EIB Journal 2/94

5 EIBA NATIONAL comed, such as the creation of national workshops or the translation of EIBA documentation into the local language. Almost all EIBA nationals have now drawn up their own statutes, chosen the structure of their organisation and created work groups comparable to the EIBA. These statutes largely follow the legislation in the country involved and may therefore differ from one country to another. Despite creating as much freedom as possible we should not give the impression that the aims and objectives of EIBA and the use of the EIBA logo are being interpreted in different ways. Over the coming months WG 2 will take appropriate action to provide all existing statutes with a preamble or a supplement stating the EIBA objectives and specifying standard conditions for use of the EIBA logo. EIBA needs a clearly recognised face throughout the world but on the other hand we also need to remain flexible so that we can adjust to the different needs of each country. As the work group responsible for marketing in the EIBA, WG 2 does not consider itself to be just a link between EIBA in Brussels and EIBA nationals. Its aim is rather more to support EIBA representatives in different countries in all questions involving organisation, marketing and law. Basically we need even more coordination and division of the work between the EIBA administration in Brussels, our work groups and our EIBA nationals. The central question for this is always: Which tasks can be better dealt with by which unit in which specific situation? EIBA and the EIB must not remain limited to Europe. In the era of the globalisation of markets and the internationalisation of technical standards our ultimate success on the market and an effective increase in the number of EIB units for our mien. Aus den Ländern sollten Impulse für die weitere Entwicklung des EIB kommen. Ohne Schulung und Kompetenzaufbau unserer Zielgruppen vor Ort in den jeweiligen Ländern wird eine jeweils landesweite Marktdurchsetzung sehr schwierig werden. Darüberhinaus gibt es noch eine Vielzahl anderer begrüßenswerter Aktivitäten, wie z.b. die Ausrichtung nationaler Workshops oder die Übersetzung von EIBA-Dokumentation in die Landessprache. Nahezu alle EIBA- Nationalen haben sich mittlerweile eigene Statuten gegeben, Organe gewählt und Working Groups vergleichbar zur EIBA eingesetzt. Die vorliegenden Statuten entsprechen weitgehend jeweiligem Landesrecht und weichen deshalb voneinander ab. Trotz möglichst großer Handlungsfreiheit darf nicht der Eindruck entstehen, daß EIBA-Ziele und die Verwendung des EIBA-Logos unterschiedlich interpretiert werden. WG 2 wird in den kommenden Monaten Maßnahmen ergreifen, um alle existierenden Statuten mit einer Präambel oder einem Zusatz zu versehen, in der EIBA- Ziele und eine Einheitlichkeit zur Verwendung des EIBA-Logos als bindend festgeschrieben werden. Die EIBA braucht weltweit ein klar erkennbares Profil, andererseits benötigen wir Flexibilität, damit wir uns auf jeweilige landesspezifische Besonderheiten einstellen können. Die WG 2 als die für das Marketing verantwortliche Arbeitsgruppe innerhalb der EIBA sieht sich nicht nur als Bindeglied zwischen der EIBA in Brüssel und den EIBA-Nationalen. Vielmehr will sie die EIBA-Interessensvertretungen in den Ländern bei allen organisatorischen, rechtlichen und Marketingfragen unterstützen. Grundsätzlich brauchen wir noch mehr Abstimmung und Arbeitsteilung zwischen der EIBA-Verwaltung in Brüssel, unseren Working Groups und unseren EIBA-Nationalen. Dabei muß malisation nationales. Comme ces statuts tiennent compte du droit national en vigueur, ils sont donc différents d une association à l autre. Mais, malgré une grande liberté d action, nous ne pouvons donner l'impression que les objectifs de l'eiba ou les conditions d'utilisation de son sigle ont été interprétés de manière divergente d'un pays à l'autre. Au cours des prochains mois, le group WG2 prendra des mesures qui permettront de doter chaque statut existant d un préambule ou d un chapitre additionnel rappelant les objectifs de l'eiba et les conditions d'utilisation de son sigle. L'EIBA doit à la fois affirmer une identité clairement reconnaissable à travers le monde entier, tout en laissant par ailleurs à chaque association nationale suffisamment de marge de manœuvre pour répondre parfaitement aux conditions particulières de son pays. Le groupe de travail WG2, chargé du marketing au sein de l EIBA, ne veut pas uniquement jouer un rôle de liaison entre EIBA Bruxelles et les associations nationales EIBA. Il veut avant tout apporter un soutien aux représentants EIBA de chaque pays pour toutes les questions relevant de l organisation, EIB Journal 2/94 5

6 EIBA NATIONAL member companies will depend on the extent to which we succeed in establishing the EIB successfully outside Europe. Experience has shown that none of our work outside Europe will be successful in the long term unless we can establish joint market-orientated EIBA organisations at a local level. The cooperation and structures used for marketing the EIB and identifiable with EIB to people of influence and to main target groups must also be evident in the countries involved. Alle Aktivitäten im außereuropäischen Raum, dies zeigen unsere bisherigen Erfahrungen, werden jedoch nicht weiterführen, wenn wir nicht gemeinsam marktnahe EIBA-Organisationseinheiten vor Ort aufbauen. Auch in diesen Ländern müssen Kooperationen und Strukturen sichtbar werden, die sich für die Vermarktung des EIB einsetzen, und die für Meinungsführer und wichtige Zielgruppen im Land mit EIB identifizierbar werden. EIBA und WG2 sehen ihre zukünftigen Aufgaben darin, auch Rahmenbedingungen für nationale Gruppen der EIBA im außereuropäischen Raum zu schaffen. du marketing ou du domaine juridique. L'expérience a montré qu'aucune de nos activités hors d'europe ne pourra réussir sans l'implantation d'une association EIBA adaptée au marché local. Les leaders d'opinion et les principaux groupes-cibles des pays concernés doivent pouvoir connaître et identifier clairement les actions de coopération et les structures mises en place pour la commercialisation de l'eib. L'EIBA et le groupe de travail WG2 auront donc pour tâche d'établir les conditions générales de l'activité des associations nationales EIBA non-européennes.

7 EIBA NATIONAL EIBA Austria Search of members Since their constitutional meeting the Austrian EIBA committee is signing officially as EIBA Austria, European Installation Bus Association National Committee for Austria Association for Promoting Information about the European Installation Bus. The following were elected to the board: Friedrich Winter (Merten) Chairman Dr. Alfred Lehner (Burisch) Deputy Chairman Günther Hullik (Siblik) Treasurer Ernst Windhager (Siemens) Deputy Treasurer Heinrich Haider (Neubo Unitech) Wolfgang Kaupil (Gira) Peter Löffler (ABB) Hannes Wittine (F&G) Gerhard Leitner (Kopp) Ditmar Schultschik (Legrand). Our main task will now be to promote membership. We therefore invite all EIBA members or their Austria representatives to become members of EIBA Austria. We would be pleased to provide information about the attractive membership conditions applicable this year. Our next task is to form work committees for standardisation and regulations on the one hand and for our public work, training and marketing on the other. Über die günstigen Beitrittsbedingungen in diesem Jahr geben wir gerne Auskunft. Als nächste Aufgabe stellen wir uns die Bildung von Arbeitskreisen für Normung und Vorschriften sowie für Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Schulungen und Marketing. Nach Abschluß der Mitgliederwerbung werden wir im Herbst dieses Jahres die Generalhauptversammlung veranstalten und die weiteren Ziele und Budgetierung für 1995 präsentieren. 8 EIBA NATIONAL Théo Mennicken, Chairman of EIBA Belgium EIBA Belgium Under one flag The Belgian EIBA group was founded in October At present it has ten members and is headed by Mr. Mennicken of Siemens. Two work groups have been formed in addition to the Administration Group to which the companies Siemens, Niko, Vynckier, Legrand, Hager Modulec and JPV (Merten) belong. The Marketing work group under the chairmanship of Mr. Poleur of Hager is involved in publicity for the EIB. This also includes the publication, and translation of brochures and distribution to customers. This work group also utilises special campaigns to spread the idea of EIB on the Belgian market. Thus, for example, each member company of EIB Belgium exhibiting at the Eurelec 94 electrical exhibition will display on its stand a special EIB sign with the EIB logo to publicise the bus system. The second work group under the management of Mr. Candries of Vynckier is involved with the aspects of technology and standardisation. Its main tasks are: technical support for the Marketing work group, technical support for the training facilities, revision of the technical regulations for electrical installations, with reference to existing national legislation and standards, adaptation of the manual for installation engineers on the Belgian market. The following companies are currently members of the Belgian EIBA group: Atem, Electro Appareils, Hager Modulec, JPV, Legrand, Niko, Philips Lighting, Siemens, Vecolux and Vynckier. EIBA Belgien Unter gemeinsamer Flagge Die belgische EIBA-Gruppe wurde im Oktober 1993 gegründet. Zur Zeit hat sie 10 Mitglieder und wird von Herrn Mennicken, Siemens, geleitet. Neben der Verwaltungsgruppe, der die Firmen Siemens, Niko, Vynckier, Legrand, Hager Modulec und JPV (Merten) angehören, haben sich zwei Arbeitsgruppen formiert. Die Arbeitsgruppe Marketing unter dem Vorsitz von Herrn Poleur, Hager, befaßt sich mit der Werbung für den EIB. Dazu gehört auch die Veröffentlichung von Broschüren, sowie deren Übersetzung und Verteilung an die Kunden. Außerdem bemüht sich diese Arbeitsgruppe durch gezielte Aktionen um die Verbreitung des EIB-Konzeptes auf dem belgischen Markt. So wird zum Beispiel jede Mitgliedsfirma von EIBA Belgien, die auf der elektrotechnischen Messe Eurelec 94 ausstellen wird, ihren Stand mit einer speziellen EIB-Tafel mit dem EIB-Logo zur Vorstellung des Bussystems versehen. Die zweite Arbeitsgruppe unter der Leitung von Herrn Candries, Vynckier, befaßt sich mit Aspekten der Technologie und Standardisierung. Ihre Hauptaufgaben sind: technische Unterstützung der Arbeitsgruppe Marketing, technische Unterstützung für Ausbildungsstätten, Überarbeitung der technischen Regeln für die elektrische Installation, unter Bezugnahme der gültigen nationalen Gesetze und Standards, Anpassung des Handbuches für Installateure an den belgischen Markt. Gegenwärtig gehören folgende Unternehmen der belgischen EIBA-Gruppe an: Atem, Electro Appareils, Hager Modulec, JPV, Legrand, Niko, Philips Lighting, Siemens, Vecolux, Vynckier. EIBA Belgique Sous la même bannière Le groupe national EIBA Belgium a été créé en octobre Présidé par M. Mennicken, Siemens, EIBA Belgique regroupe à ce jour 10 membres. Outre le Conseil d Administration, composé de représentant des sociétés Siemens, Niko, Vynckier, Legrand, Hager Modulec et JPV (Merten), deux groupes de travail sont actifs. D une part un groupe de travail Marketing, présidé par M. Poleur, Hager, se penche sur les aspects promotionnels d EIB. Ainsi il prend en charge la publication de brochures, les traductions de celles-ci ainsi que la diffusion auprès la clientèle. Par ailleurs, le groupe de travail œuvre à la diffusion du concept EIB sur le marché belge au travers d actions spécifiques. Ainsi chaque membre d EIBA Belgique, qui exposera au salon électrotechnique Eurelec 94 à Bruxelles, aura sur son stand un panneau de présentation avec le sigle EIB. D autre part un groupe de travail est chargé des aspects liés à la technologie et à la normalisation. Il est animé par M. Candries, Vynckier, et a comme principales tâches de : soutenir techniquement le GT Marketing, fournir une aide technique aux centres de formation, rédiger les règles techniques relatives aux installations électrique en tenant compte de la législation nationale en vigueur, adapter le manuel d installateur au marché belge. 9 EIBA NATIONAL EIBA Denmark Is a Scandinavian EIBA school on its way? EIBA Denmark was founded on 9 March 1994 and has five members, the companies LK A/S, ABB Komponent A/S, Servodan A/S, ELPEFA A/S and Siemens A/S. The members meeting elected a chairman and laid out the main objectives of the EIBA group in Denmark: marketing EIB installation technology in Denmark, starting active cooperation with Danish authorities having an aim of producing a standard installation system, creating the conditions and facilities for efficient training, defining the symbols and technical terms to be used. Also four work groups were created which are involved in marketing, training, symbols and expressions. EIBA Denmark has begun cooperation with EFU (the training committee for the electrical professions) in order to establish a certificated school in Denmark and produce teaching aids in the Danish language. The EFU is working together with its sister organisations in Scandinavia on establishing a Scandinavian EIBA school. The first EIB systems in Denmark will be ready for operation in August or September EIBA Denmark is represented by members at their stands at industrial exhibitions. EIBA Dänemark Kommt eine skandinavische EIBA-Schule? EIBA Dänemark wurde am 9. März 1994 gegründet und hat fünf Mitglieder: die Firmen LK A/S, ABB Komponent A/S, Servodan A/S, ELPEFA A/S und Siemens A/S. Die Mitgliederversammlung ernannte einen Vorsitzenden und definierte die wichtigsten Aufgaben der EIBA-Gruppe in Dänemark: Vermarktung der EIB-Installationstechnik in Dänemark, aktive Kooperation mit den dänischen Behörden, mit dem Ziel, ein standardisiertes Installationssystem zu erarbeiten, Voraussetzungen schaffen für kompetente Ausbildungsmöglichkeiten, Symbole und Fachbegriffe definieren. Außerdem wurden vier Arbeitsgruppen eingesetzt, die mit Marketing, Ausbildung, Symbolen und Fachbegriffen beschäftigt sind. EIBA Dänemark hat eine Zusammenarbeit mit EFU (Ausbildungsausschuß für Personen aus den Elektroberufen) eingeleitet, mit dem Ziel, eine zertifizierte Schule in Dänemark zu gründen und dänische Lernmittel zu erstellen. EFU arbeitet zusammen mit seinen Schwesterorganisationen in Skandinavien an der Gründung einer skandinavischen EIBA- Schule. Die ersten EIB-Systeme in Dänemark werden im August/September 1994 betriebsbereit sein. Auf Messen wird EIBA Dänemark durch die Mitglieder auf ihren Messeständen vertreten. Le président du groupe national EIBA Danemark a été élu par l assemblée générale, qui a également défini les tâches essentielles du groupe: commercialiser le système EIB au Danemark, coopérer activement avec les autorités danoises dans le but de créer un système d installation EIB normalisé, établir les conditions nécessaires à l enseignement d une formation professionnelle compétente, définir les symboles et les concepts professionnels. En outre, quatre groupes de travail ont été organisés autour des thèmes Marketing, Formation, Symboles et Concepts professionnels. EIBA Danemark a envisagé de collaborer avec EFU (Comité de formation pour les professionnels de l électricité) dans le but de créer au Danemark une école agréée avec un matériel pédagogique rédigé en danois. EFU collabore avec ses filiales en Scandinavie pour créer une Ecole EIBA scandinave. Au Danemark, les premiers systèmes EIB seront prêts à l exploitation vers août/septembre A l occasion des diverses expositions, les sociétés membres représenteront chacune EIBA-Danemark sur leur propre stand. 10 EIBA NATIONAL Gérard Zilliox, Chairman of EIBA France EIBA France Venue the ELEC exhibition 1994 is the year in which the French EIBA group was founded. The first co-ordination meetings took place with various partners of the French EIBA group. Two important dates were agreed: Before the ELEC 94 a seminar is to be held for installation engineers, architects and other people involved in technical standards and regulations. Some weeks later at the ELEC exhibition from 5 to 9 December 1994 in Villepinte we will have an opportunity to speak with representatives of interested companies as well as installation engineers and architects. Companies involved in the field of buildings technology on the French market will exhibit at our joint EIBA stand and are already offering EIB products. Legrand, Hager, ABB, Siemens, Cerberus Guinard, Ritzenthaler, Tehalit, Wieland and many others who are involved with organising the stand at the trade fair, are supplying information about our EIBA activities in France and are therefore actually firing the starting pistol for the French EIBA group. EIBA Frankreich Treffpunkt Messe ELEC 1994 ist das Gründungsjahr für die französische EIBA-Gruppe. Die ersten Koordinationstreffen fanden bei den verschiedenen Partnern der französischen EIBA-Gruppe statt. Zwei wichtige Termine wurden dabei beschlossen: Noch vor der ELEC 94 soll ein Seminar stattfinden für Installateure, Architekten und Personen, die sich mit technischen Normen und Standards befassen. Einige Wochen danach werden wir dann bei der ELEC-Messe vom 5. bis 9. Dezember 1994 in Villepinte die Gelegenheit haben, mit Vertretern der interessierten Unternehmen sowie mit Installateuren und Architekten zu sprechen. Auf unserem gemeinsamen EIBA-Stand werden Firmen ausstellen, die auf dem französischen Markt auf dem Gebiet der Gebäudetechnik tätig sind und ab jetzt EIB-gemäße Produkte anbieten. Legrand, Hager, ABB, Siemens, Cerberus Guinard, Ritzenthaler, Tehalit, Wieland und viele andere Unternehmen sind an der Organisation des Messestandes beteiligt, der über unsere EIBA-Aktivitäten in Frankreich informieren und somit den eigentlichen Startschuß für die französische EIBA-Gruppe geben wird. EIBA France Lieu du rendezvouz: Expo ELEC 1994 marquera le départ de l Association sur le marché français. Les premières réunions de coordination ont eu lieu chez les différents partenaires du Club France. Deux événements majeurs ont été décidés : Avant ELEC 94 un séminaire EIBA France pour les prescripteurs, installateurs, architectes etc. est prévu. Quelques semaines plus tard, nous aurons l occasion de nous rencontrer et de recevoir les entreprises, installateurs, architectes etc. au sein de l Exposition ELEC du 05 décembre 1994 au 09 décembre 1994 à Villepinte. Sur le stand commun seront présentés les entreprises ayant une activité en France dans le secteur immotique et offrant dès maintenant des produits adaptés au BUS Européen E.I.B. Legrand, Hager, ABB, Siemens, Cerberus Guinard, Ritzenthaler, Tehalit, Wieland et bien d autres participent à la création de ce stand d accueil et d information qui marquera le véritable départ de l action de EIBA France. 10 EIB Journal 2/94

11 EIBA NATIONAL EIBA Germany Already four training centres certified The Manual on Building Management System which was published last year in cooperation between the German electrical industry (ZVEI) and the electrical trades (ZVEH) has been very well received and is highly esteemed in specialist circles as the user manual for the Building Management System. The first print of copies is already sold out and a revised second issue is currently in preparation. The Training work group has again updated its training documents to bring them to the state-of-the-art in bus technology. Ten training centres in Germany have registered for certification and four of them have already received their EIBA certificate. At the suggestion of the ZVEH and the association of electrical wholesalers VEG, the Publicity work group (AK-PR) has since the beginning of the year invited some of their experts to consider subjects related to the introduction of the EIB on the market in Germany. The first result of these joint efforts will be a small brochure User benefits of the EIB which is to be published in autumn. The main aspect of this is the use of the EIB in the home environment, with special consideration of the aspects of safety, convenience and economy. This brochure is a good example of a marketing strategy which has been co-ordinated between manufacturers, electrical wholesalers and the electrical trade. EIBA Deutschland Bereits vier Schulungsstätten zertifiziert Das in Zusammenarbeit zwischen der deutschen Elektroindustrie (ZVEI) und der Elektrohandwerke (ZVEH) im vorigen Jahr erschienene Handbuch Gebäudesystemtechnik hat gute Resonanz gefunden und wird als Anwenderhandbuch für die Gebäudesystemtechnik in Fachkreisen sehr geschätzt. Die erste Auflage von Stück ist schon vergriffen, eine überarbeitete zweite Auflage liegt bereits im Manuskript vor. Im Arbeitskreis Schulung wurden die Schulungsunterlagen weiter aktualisiert und dem neuesten Stand der Bustechnik angepaßt. Es haben sich in Deutschland 10 Schulungsstätten zur Zertifizierung angemeldet, von denen bereits vier die EIBA-Zertifizierung erhalten haben. Der Arbeitskreis Öffentlichkeitsarbeit (AK-PR) hat seit Beginn des Jahres auf Anregung von ZVEH und des Verbandes der Elektrogroßhändler VEG einige ihrer Experten eingeladen, um Themen im Zusammenhang mit der Markteinführung des EIB in Deutschland zu behandeln. Als erstes Ergebnis der gemeinsamen Arbeit wird im Herbst eine kleine Broschüre Anwendernutzen des EIB erscheinen. Schwerpunkt ist der Einsatz im Heimbereich mit besonderer Herausstellung der Themen Sicherheit, Komfort und Wirtschaftlichkeit. Die Broschüre ist ein gutes Beispiel für ein koordiniertes Marketing zwischen Herstellern, Elektrogroßhandel und Elektrohandwerk. EIBA Allemagne Déjà quatre centres de formation agréés Le manuel des techniques immotiques ( Handbuch Gebäudesystemtechnik ), paru l année dernière en collaboration avec l association allemande de l industrie électrique (ZVEI) et l association allemande de l artisanat électrique (ZVEH), a connu un immense succès: il est devenu un véritable guide d utilisation pour les professionnels des techniques immotiques. Les exemplaires de la première édition sont déjà tous vendus. Le groupe de travail Formation a poursuivi la mise à jour des ouvrages de formation professionnelle, afin de les adapter aux dernières nouveautés de la technique EIB. Dix centres de formation en Allemagne ont demandé leur agrément, quatre l ont déjà obtenu par EIBA. A la demande de l association allemande de l artisanat électrique et de l association des grossistes en matériel électrique (VEG), le groupe de travail Relations publiques a invité dès le début de l année des experts de ces associations pour discuter des possibilités d introduction du bus EIB sur le marché allemand. De cette collaboration naîtra une brochure Applications pratiques de EIB, qui s adresse avant tout aux professionnels de la domotique et insiste particulièrement sur les thèmes sécurité, confort et rentabilité. Cette brochure qui sera publiée en automne est un parfait exemple de coordination des actions de marketing entre les fabricants, les grossistes et les artisans-électriciens. 12 EIBA NATIONAL Dr. Antonio Sala Chairman of EIBA Italy EIBA Italy Marketing and Technology The EIBA group for Italy was founded two years ago and has been officially registered as an association since July The founder members are: ABB/Elettrocondutture S.p.A., BTicino S.p.A., Gewiss S.p.A., Siemens S.p.A., Vimar S.r.l. and Wieland S.r.l. Mr. A. Sala (of ABB/Elettrocondutture) was elected chairman for 1994 and The organisation has set itself the objective of promoting bus technology for the automation of electrical buildings technology. It coordinates participation of member companies at national and international exhibitions, organises training courses and seminars for designers, installation engineers and customers and provides a contact point for technical enquiries. Because of the different fields involved the organisation is divided into two departments: Marketing and Technology. One of the main objectives for the near future is the creation of a joint training centre for designers and installation engineers. Training courses on at least three different subjects should be available before the end of this year. The most important task for the technology department is the provision of technical solutions and equipment suitable for the Italian market. The technology department also records all documents published by the various expert groups in EIBA and in this way creates a type of technology database which is available to every company. EIBA Italien Marketing und Technologie Die EIBA-Gruppe Italien wurde vor zwei Jahren gegründet und ist seit Juli 1994 offiziell als Vereinigung registriert. Die Gründungsmitglieder sind: ABB/Elettrocondutture S.p.A., BTicino S.p.A., Gewiss S.p.A., Siemens S.p.A., Vimar S.r.l. und Wieland S.r.l. Den Vorsitz für die Jahre führt A. Sala (ABB/Elettrocondutture). Die Organisation hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die Bustechnologie zur Automatisierung der elektrischen Gebäudetechnik zu fördern. Sie koordiniert die Teilnahme der Mitgliedsfirmen auf nationalen und internationalen Messen, organisiert die Ausbildung und Seminare für Planer, Installateure und Kunden und steht bei technischen Anfragen als Ansprechpartner zur Verfügung. Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Aufgabenbereiche ist die Organisation in zwei Abteilungen gegliedert: Marketing und Technologie. Eines der wichtigsten Ziele für die nächste Zukunft ist die Schaffung einer gemeinsamen Schulungsstätte für Planer und Installateure. Lehrgänge in mindestens drei verschiedenen Fächern sollen bereits Ende dieses Jahres verwirklicht werden. Vordringliche Aufgabe für die Technologie ist die Bereitstellung technischer Lösungen und Geräte, die dem italienischen Markt entsprechen. Außerdem erfaßt sie alle Dokumente, die von den verschiedenen Expertengruppen der EIBA herausgegeben werden und schafft eine Datenbank, die jeder Firma zur Verfügung steht. EIBA Italie Marketing et Technologie Le groupe EIBA en Italie, fondé il y a deux ans, est enregistré officiellement en tant qu association depuis juillet Les membres fondateurs sont les suivants : S.p.A., BTicino S.p.A., Gewiss S.p.A., Siemens S.p.A., Vimar S.r.l. et Wieland S.r.l. Monsieur A.Sala, (ABB/Elettrocondutture), est à la tête du comité directeur pour 1994 et L organisation s est fixé pour objectif de promouvoir la technologie du bus pour l automatisation des installations électriques dans le bâtiment. Cette association coordonne la participation des sociétés membres aux différents salons organisés sur le plan national et international, organise des formations et des séminaires à l intention des concepteurs, des installateurs et des clients. Etant donné la diversité de ses activités, l organisation s est subdivisée en deux départements: Le marketing et la technologie. L un des premiers objectifs à court terme consiste à mettre en place des organismes de formation destinés à la fois aux concepteurs et aux installateurs. Dès la fin de cette année, les participants devraient pouvoir bénéficier de cours d apprentissage au moins dans trois spécialités différentes. Le département Technologie a pour tâche prioritaire de proposer des solutions techniques et des équipements bien adaptés au marché italien. Ce département sera également chargé de saisir sur informatique tous les documents émanant des différents groupes d experts de l association EIBA, pour constituer une sorte de banque de données technologiques à la disposition de chaque société membre. 12 EIB Journal 2/94

13 EIBA NATIONAL EIBA Holland Under full sail EIBA Niederlande Mit vollen Segeln EIBA aux Pays-Bas A pleines voiles EIBA Holland began its work in March 1993 following the motto An new era in installation technology. After an eventful year the organisation with its 23 member companies knows it has achieved its main objectives. Two institutes have already registered for certification to ISO A short time ago the InstaVer trust was able to present ten participants with their EIB certificate on Project Design. The famous training centre of the Vereniging voor Elektrotechnische Vakonderwijs (VEV) will be starting EIB training courses before the end of In October EIBA Holland together with VEV are holding seminars for installation engineers, consultants and the wholesale trade, at various venues. Detailed discussions were held with UNETO (the association of installation companies) at an early stage to present EIB as a new opportunity for installation personnel. Products using the EIB system will soon be available at the UNETO Innovations Centre so that installation engineers can learn how to operate them. Sales personnel from the electrical wholesale trade (FEG) were informed of the benefits of the EIB system in July Each year around visitors to the Bouwcentrum in Rotterdam find answers to their questions concerning building regulations, design and materials selection. An EIB symposium for architects and planning companies is being planned in conjunction with the Bouwcentrum. Im März 1993 begann EIBA Niederlande ihre Aktivitäten unter dem Motto Ein neues Zeitalter in der Installationstechnik. Nach einem ereignisreichen Jahr kann die Organisation mit 23 Mitgliedsfirmen feststellen, daß die wesentlichen Zielsetzungen erreicht wurden. Bereits zwei Institute haben sich für die Zertifizierung nach ISO 9002 angemeldet. Die Stiftung InstaVer konnte vor kurzem 10 Teilnehmern das EIB-Zertifikat Projektieren überreichen. Die renommierte Ausbildungsstätte der Vereniging voor Elektrotechnische Vakonderwijs (VEV) wird noch in 1994 mit EIB- Schulungen starten. Im Oktober veranstaltet EIBA Niederlande zusammen mit VEV an verschiedenen Orten Seminare für Installateure, Beratungsbüros und Großhandel. Bereits frühzeitig wurden mit der UNETO (Verband der Installationsunternehmen) ausführliche Gespräche geführt, um EIB als neue Chance für den Installateur zu präsentieren. Demnächst werden auch Produkte des EIB- Systems im Innovations-Centrum der UNETO in Funktion zu sehen sein, damit die Installateure lernen, damit umzugehen. Im Juli 1994 wurde Verkaufspersonal aus dem elektrotechnischen Großhandel (FEG) über die Vorzüge des EIB-Systems informiert. Im Bouwcentrum in Rotterdam finden jährlich etwa Besucher Antworten auf ihre Fragen bezüglich Bauvorschriften, Entwurf und Materialauswahl. Es ist geplant, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bouwcentrum ein EIB-Symposium für Architekten und Planungsfirmen durchzuführen. En mars 1993, le groupe EIBA implanté aux Pays-Bas a démarré ses activités sous le slogan Une nouvelle ère dans la technique d installation. Après une année riche en événements, l association, composée désormais de 23 sociétés membres, peut se targuer d avoir atteint ses principaux objectifs. Deux instituts se sont déjà portés candidats pour l homologation ISO Récemment, la fondation InstaVer a pu remettre le certificat de Conception EIB à 10 participants. L organisme de formation renommé de la VEV (Vereniging voor Elektrotechnische Vakonderwijs) prévoit déjà pour octobre de cette année des stages de formation EIB. A la même époque, le groupe EIBA des Pays-Bas, en coopération avec la VEV, organisera à différents endroits des séminaires à l intention des installateurs, des bureaux d étude et des grossistes. Très tôt, nous avons mené des discussions approfondies avec l UNETO (Regroupement d entreprises chargées des installations), pour leur montrer les nouvelles perspectives ouvertes aux installateurs par EIB. Au centre de recherche et développement de l UNETO, nous présenterons prochainement in situ les différents produits du système EIB. En juillet 1994, le service commercial a été informé des avantages offerts par le système EIB. Au Bouwcentrum de Rotterdam, près de visiteurs viennent trouver chaque année une réponse aux questions qui les préoccupent: réglementations de construction, études, et choix des matériaux. 14 EIBA NATIONAL Santiago Marcos López, Chairman of EIBA Spain EIBA Spain Much activity EIBA Spain was officially launched in February 1993 as an association of nine Spanish companies. Three committees have been formed within EIBA Spain: a committee for promotion and communication, a committee for software, a committee for technical support. Here are just a few examples of the many different activities with which these committees are involved: translation of the EIB Tool 1.3 as soon as it is available, preparation of an EIB stand for the next MATELEC exhibition in Madrid (from 25 to , the major exhibition for the electrical industry in Spain, held every two years) preparation of technical documentation in the Spanish language, organisation of the EIB schools required in Spain, with courses in Spanish. EIBA Spain is providing the specialist Spanish trade magazines (of which there are around 22) involved in buildings and installation technology with regular information about EIBA activities in Europe as well as articles and translations on the subject of the EIB. It has also provided all member companies of the Spanish EIBA group with a fourlanguage glossary on the subject of buildings technology. Through the relevant technical committees for standardisation EIBA Spain would like to incorporate a chapter on bus systems for buildings technology into the Spanish regulations. EIBA Spanien Viele Aktivitäten Im Februar 1993 wurde EIBA Spanien offiziell gegründet und zwar als Verband von neun spanischen Firmen. Innerhalb EIBA Spanien sind drei Komitees gebildet worden: ein Komitee für Promotion und Kommunikation, ein Komitee für Software, ein Komitee für technische Unterstützung. Hier sind nur einige Beispiele der vielen verschiedenen Tätigkeiten, die diese Komitees vor sich haben: Übersetzung des EIB Tools 1.3, sobald vorhanden, Vorbereitung eines EIB-Messestandes für die nächste MATE- LEC-Messe in Madrid (vom 25. bis , die wichtigste Elektromesse Spaniens, alle zwei Jahre), Vorbereitung der technischen Dokumentation in spanischer Sprache, Organisation der notwendigen EIB-Schulen in Spanien, mit Kursen in spanisch. EIBA Spanien gibt den spanischen Fachzeitschriften (etwa 22), die u.a. die Gebäude- und Installationstechnik zum Thema haben, regelmäßige Informationen über die EIBA-Aktivitäten in Europa, sowie Artikel und Übersetzungen über EIB. Sie hat auch allen Mitgliedsfirmen der spanischen EIBA-Gruppe ein viersprachiges Glossar zum Thema Gebäudetechnik zur Verfügung gestellt. Über die entsprechenden Technischen Komitees für Normung möchte EIBA Spanien ein Kapitel über Bussysteme für Gebäudetechnik in die spanischen Vorschriften mit aufnehmen. EIBA Espagne Beaucoup d activités EIBA Espagne a vu officiellement en février 1993, sous la forme d une association de neuf sociétés espagnoles. EIBA Espagne se compose de trois comités: un comité pour la promotion et la communication, un comité pour les logiciels, un comité pour l assistance technique. Nous vous présentons ci-dessous quelques activités parmi les nombreuses fonctions dont sont chargés ces comités: la traduction du logiciel EIB- Tools 1.3, dès sa parution; la préparation d un stand d exposition EIB à l occasion de la prochaine biennale MATELEC à Madrid (le plus important salon de l électricité en Espagne: du 25 au 29 octobre 1994); la préparation de la documentation technique en espagnol; l organisation de centres de formation EIB nécessaires en Espagne, où les cours seront enseignés en espagnol. EIBA Espagne transmet régulièrement aux revues spécialisées espagnoles (environ 22), qui traitent, entre autres, des techniques immotiques, des informations sur les activités de EIBA en Europe, ainsi que des articles de presse et des traductions d articles sur le système EIB. Elle a également adressé à toutes les sociétés membres du groupe EIBA Espagne un glossaire sur les techniques immotiques, rédigé en quatre langues. 15 EIBA NATIONAL EIBA Switzerland Growth after one year EIBA Swiss was founded in August 1993 by the companies ABB Normelec in Zurich, CMC Carl Maier & Cie AG in Schaffhausen, Feller AG in Horgen, Grässlin & Co. in St. Antoni, Levy Fils AG in Basle and Siemens AG in Zurich. The declared objective of EIBA Swiss is to jointly coordinate and support EIB technology in Switzerland, taking the local conditions into special consideration. The work groups on training, technology, marketing and information are dealing with subjects in these special areas. Examples of their activities include: Joint EIB training; representation of interests to standards committees; creation of a marketing strategy for EIB products and a special joint EIB exhibition at Ineltec EIBA Swiss have created their own official publication, Bus- News. This will be published for the first time in summer 1994 and will then appear two or three times each year. Based on a number of activities covering the latest ideas on promoting EIB technology the work groups are preparing proposals which will be published in this periodical. It is already clear that the aims and objectives of EIBA Swiss are accepted and that EIB technology represents the future: The companies Böni & Co. in Fraunfeld, Hager Modula AG, in Le Mont, High Tech AG in Dietikon, Legrand Schweiz AG in Birr, Novitas AG in Zurich and WAGO Contact SA in Domdidier have also joined EIBA Swiss. More companies will follow. Several national and international committees involved in official standardisation in Building Management System are now working on creating standards. Individually these are: German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association: In the work group for Home Electronics Systems (ZVEI AK HES) and the department Electrical Building Management System (ZVEI FA 7.12 GST) in close cooperation with the Federal Association of German Electrical Contractors. German Electrotechnical Commission of DIN and VDE: In the committees Home Electronics Systems (DKE GUK HES) and Electrical System Technology for the Home and Buildings (DKE K 716 ESHG). The French Union Technique de I Electricité : A network for technical and administrative management of buildings. (UTE/CEF 65C WG7). European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation: Home and Building Electronic Systems (CENELEC/TC 105 HBES). International Electrotechnical Commission: In the work groups Home Electronics Systems (ISO/IEC JTC1 SC25 WG1 HES) as well as Functional Safety (IEC ACOS WG1). The first result is the preliminary standard published in Germany in November 1992 as a Blue Paper. 17 STANDARDS the fundamental concept for the European installation bus EIB, the system architecture and communications with equipment connected to the bus (bus devices). The general technical requirements for the transmission medium used (one twisted pair of cable) and the equipment are also being specified. The European installation bus EIB has also been published in France as an experimental standard. The most important committee for Europe is CENELEC/TC 105 HBES. National committees are paving the way for its standardisation work. The basis for this work is the EIB installation bus system and the Batibus system produced in France. Additionally, the standardisation work will also be affected by the results of the ESPRIT home systems projects also financed by the EC. The result will be a European standard (EN) for the parts to be described jointly and a European preliminary standard (EN V) whose sections will describe the three different implementations. The structure and layout of the European standard EN x coincides with the existing preliminary German standard DIN V VDE 0829 and its parts, and the French experimental standard. Some parts have already successfully completed the time-consuming den Europäischen Installationsbus EIB, die Systemarchitektur und die Realisierung der Kommunikation von an den Bus angeschlossenen Geräten (Busteilnehmer) untereinander. Die Basis und Richtschnur für diese Arbeiten ist das Installationsbussystem EIB sowie der in Frankreich erarbeitete Batibus. Darüber hinaus wird die Normungsarbeit auch beeinflußt von Ergebnissen aus von der EG mitfinanzierten Projekten ESPRIT Home Systems. Das Ergebnis wird eine Europanorm (EN) für die gemeinsam zu beschreibenden Teile sein und ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC25 WG 1 CENELEC TC 105 HBES SC25 WG1 HES) et Functional Safety (IEC ACOS WG1). Les résultats ne se font pas attendre: en novembre 1992 paraît en Allemagne une norme expérimentale, dont les différentes parties sont consacrées au concept fondamental du système EIB, à l architecture du système et à la réalisation de la communication entre les appareils connectés à EIB (appareils-partenaires de EIB). En outre, cette norme définit aussi les exigences techniques générales auxquelles doivent répondre le moyen de transmission utilisé (une paire torsadée) ainsi que les appareils raccordés. En France également le bus EIB a été reconnu par la publication d une norme expérimentale. Le comité CENELEC/TC 105 HBES est le plus important en Europe. Ses travaux s appuient sur les études préliminaires de normalisation des commissions nationales, qui elles-mêmes sont basées sur les directives du système EIB et du Batibus établi en France. En outre, les travaux de normalisation sont aussi influencés par les résultats des projets ESPRIT Home Systems, cofinancés par la CE. 19 WG3 ANNOUNCES Developer s Workshop Entwickler- Workshop Ateliers de développement WG3 is holding its development workshop in Frankfurt on 12 October The workshop is continuing the path laid by the EIBA symposium. New users are very welcome and will be informed about obtaining access to EIB product development. The old boys can keep each other up-to-date about the latest developments in the EIB system. It is an advantage if participants are already familiar with the EIB manual. The workshop is also setting the tone for development seminars which will be available at regular intervals from October onwards. New areas of work in WG3 Since the EIB interworking standard EIS has proved successful, providing compatibility for certain functions, it is now possible to take the second step towards compatibility definition of product profiles for product compatibility. The expert group EG 3.15 under the leadership of Alain Lambert from Legrand in Limoges, was established and has started its work by now. Radio as a supplement to the twisted pair The questionnaire in the EIBA concerning the incorporation of radio as a supplementary medium to the EIB twisted pair has created great interest. WG3 will therefore propose the foundation of a new Radio Frequency expert group for the October meeting. Am 12. Oktober 1994 hält die WG3 ihren Entwickler-Workshop in Frankfurt ab. Der Workshop setzt die Linie des EIBA-Symposiums fort. Neue Anwender sind ausdrücklich willkommen, sie werden über den Zugang zur EIB-Produktentwicklung informiert; alte Hasen informieren sich über die aktuellen Entwicklungen im EIB-System. Es ist von Vorteil, wenn die Teilnehmer des EIB-Handbuch kennen. Der Workshop ist auch der Auftakt zu Entwickler-Seminaren, die ab Oktober in regelmäßigen Abständen angeboten werden. Neue Arbeitsgebiete in der WG3 Nachdem sich die EIB Interworking Standard EIS bewährt haben, die Kompatibilität für bestimmte Funktionen bewirken, kann jetzt der zweite Schritt in Richtung Kompatibilität getan werden: die Definition von Produktprofilen für die Kompatibilität zwischen Produkten. Die Expertengruppe EG 3.15 unter der Leitung von Alain Lambert, Legrand, Limoges, wurde neu gegründet und hat inzwischen ihre Arbeit aufgenommen. Funk als ergänzendes Medium zum verdrillten Adernpaar Die Umfrage in EIBA zur Einbeziehung von Funk als ergänzendes Medium zum EIB Twisted Pair ist auf großes Interesse gestoßen. Der WG3 wird daher die Gründung einer neuen Expertengruppe Radio Frequency für die Sitzung im Oktober vorschlagen. Le groupe d experts EG 3.15, créé récemment est dirigé par Alain Lambert, Legrand à Limoges, vient de démarrer ses activités. La radio, support complémentaire à la paire torsadée L enquête réalisée au sein du groupe EIBA sur l opportunité d integrer la radio à la paire torsadée de EIB, a suscité le plus grand intérêt. La création d un nouveau groupe d experts Radio Frequency a donc été proposée au groupe de travail WG3 pour le séminaire du mois d octobre. 20 WG3 ANNOUNCES EIB transmission technology The expert group EG 3.14 EIB Signalling Characteristics has begun work on 6 September 1994 to draw up the specification for EIB transmission technology for the EIB manual. Site lighting There is generally a need for lighting on building sites long before the system controlled by the bus is put into operation. This would be possible through despatch of the actuators with group addresses ex works. Unfortunately this can create situations which can be dangerous. For this reason WG3 has published regulations which specify certain group addresses in such cases which are not available to the ETS and differ for the various fields of application. This makes site lighting feasible and safe (details will be advised in an application note to be released in the near future). EIB-Übertragungstechnik Zur Erarbeitung der Spezifikation der EIB-Übertragungstechnik für das EIB-Handbuch hat am 6. September 1994 die Expertengruppe EG 3.14 EIB Signalling Characteristics ihre Arbeit aufgenommen. Baubeleuchtung Auf Baustellen besteht der Bedarf für Beleuchtung meist weit vor der Inbetriebnahme der busgesteuerten Anlage. Durch Auslieferung der Aktoren mit Gruppenadressen ab Werk könnten diese auch ohne Inbetriebnahme in Funktion gesetzt werden. Leider können hieraus gefährliche Situationen entstehen. Die WG3 hat daher Regeln verabschiedet, die in solchen Fällen bestimmte Gruppenadressen vorschreiben, die von der ETS nicht erreicht werden und die für verschiedene Anwendungsbereiche unterschiedlich sind. Damit ist die Baubeleuchtung in sicherer Weise realisierbar (Einzelheiten werden in Kürze in einer Application Note mitgeteilt). La livraison des actioneurs avec des adresses de groupes à partir de l usine permettrait à ceux-ci de fonctionner avant la mise en route proprement dite. Cette procédure, hélas, peut entraîner des risques. Le WG3 a donc fixé, pour ces cas de figure, des règles définissant des adresses de groupes bien précises, inaccessibles à l ETS et adaptées aux différents domaines d application.
