Simultaneously a modest and infinite task: it allows a kind of permanent youth for Lexon and its products during the last twenty three years. Products that are molded by the uses of those to whom they are made for, constantly evolving, always truthful to that line that got drawn from the very beginning: to serve functions as efficiently as possible, at home or at the office as well, renewing the pleasure one may get out of it. 6 HIGH /LI GHTS Safe - Lexon studio TakeTime - Mathieu Lehanneur Tykho - Marc Berthier Airline - René Adda / Marco Pulga & Luca Artioli > Lexon s identity has been punctuated by creations that solidly build its history. As many little miracles that reproduce themselves, year after year. One may sometimes identify them immediately, on the other hand, some may require some time. A selection. Tykho: a very small radio set that became an immense product. A multiple bet: a drawing, a material, a medium, a format and a shape. It is now part of MoMA s permanent collections, as well as Centre Pompidou in Paris. Historical again, it made Time magazine front cover, the only one cover dedicated to an object. Within fifteen years, Tykho became a star of international design. Airline: this luggage line never took a rest in all these years, constantly evolving. It maintains a spotless dedication to the principles that support it from then: simplicity, elegance, efficiency. By definition, it travels, thus tend to preserve with an increased attention an identity made out of discretion and personality. Safe: an important bet again. Beyond fashions and trends, through all the trouble met at transforming other materials rather than plastics, it favors an engagement looking for items that would be as many friendly signs. A collection that goes further than a mere fad or a one season s passion: it is now standing the test of time. Flip: industrial design is an infinitely renewed story of frail balances: this clockwork itself is an object of great delicacy. Though to looks rather simple, in its lines and its functions as well. It interrupts sleep - a lousy task - and plays in that vey manner a decisive role: it manages to become a treat, never a punishment. TakeTime: this watch s very smart. Elegantly reminiscent, rich in its evocations, thoroughly precise in its proportions. Autant de petits miracles qui se reproduisent, année après année. Tout de suite reconnaissables ou s affirmant avec le temps. Sélection. Tykho : toute petite radio devenue immense produit. Pari multiple - son dessin, son matériau, le médium servi, son format. Tout réussi : historique, (collections permanentes MoMA et Pompidou) elle fait la seule couverture consacrée à un objet du magazine américain Time. En quinze ans Tykho est devenue une étoile du design international de la fin du XXème siècle. Airline : la ligne de bagages n a cessé d évoluer depuis sa création. Elle conserve une fidélité sans faille aux principes qui l ont générée : simplicité, élégance, efficacité. Par définition, elle voyage constamment mais conserve avec une attention d autant plus précise une identité impeccable faite de discrétion et de personnalité associées. Safe : bambou / céramique : pari à nouveau. Elle veut se placer au delà des modes et des complexités du traitement et de la transformation de matériaux autres que les plastiques. Un engagement en faveur d une recherche d objets qui seraient autant de signes amicaux. La collection dépasse le caprice d une saison : elle défie déjà le temps. Flip : Wright : le design est l histoire infiniment renouvelée d équilibres fragiles : ce réveil est lui-même d une grande délicatesse malgré l apparente simplicité de ses lignes et de ses fonctions. Il interrompt le sommeil - tâche ingrate - et il joue par là même un rôle capital : il se débrouille pour être un vrai cadeau, jamais une punition. TakeTime : l intelligence de cette montre est dans la finesse des réminiscences, la richesse des évocations, la justesse des proportions.
