1 Control Pad Functions READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN. CLOCK PAD PREHEAT & LOCKED LIGHTS TEMPERATURE CONTROL KNOB OVEN INDICATOR LIGHT BAKE TIME PAD INDICATOR LIGHTS STOP TIME PAD START PAD UP and DOWN ARROW PADS TIMER ON/OFF PAD START INDICATOR LIGHT The oven can be programmed to: Bake normally Time bake Vari Broil Self-clean IMPORTANT: The control cannot be used until the clock is set to the time of day. For a silent control panel: When choosing a function, a beep will be heard each time a pad is pushed. If desired, the controls can be programmed for silent operation. Push and hold STOP TIME. After 7 seconds, the control will beep once. This will block the controls from sounding when a pad is pushed. To return the sound, push and hold STOP TIME again for 7 seconds until 1 beep is heard. Note: The control will return to the audible mode after a power outage (9901) Rev. B

2 Setting the Clock and Minute Timer To Set the Clock When the appliance is first plugged in, or when the power supply to the appliance has been interrupted, the display will flash "12:00". 1. Push CLOCK. 2. Within 5 seconds, push and hold the UP or DOWN ARROW until the correct time of day appears in the display. Note: The clock cannot be changed during any timed bake or self-clean cycle. To Set the Minute Timer 1. Push TIMER ON/OFF. 2. Push the UP ARROW to increase the time in one minute increments. Push and hold the UP ARROW to increase the time in 10 minute increments. The timer can be set for any amount of time from 1 minute to 11 hours and 59 minutes. Note: If you push the DOWN ARROW first, the timer will advance to 11 hours and 59 minutes. 3. The display shows the timer count down in minutes until one minute remains. Then the display will count down in seconds. 4. When the set time has run out, the timer will beep 3 times. It will then continue to beep 3 times every 60 seconds until TIMER ON/OFF is pushed. Note: The minute timer does not start or stop cooking. It serves as an extra timer in the kitchen that will beep when the set time has run out. The minute timer can be used alone or during any of the other oven functions. When the minute timer is in use with any other mode, the minute timer will be shown in the display. To view other functions, push the function pad for that mode. To Change the Minute Timer while it is in use: Push and hold the UP or DOWN ARROW to increase or decrease the time. To Cancel the Minute Timer before the set time has run out: Push TIMER ON/OFF. Setting Electronic Oven Controls MANUALLY OPERATED OVEN COOKING: To Set or Change the Temperature for Normal Baking The oven can be programmed to bake at any temperature from 170 F to 550 F (77 C to 288 C). To Set the Controls for Normal Baking: 1. Turn Temperature Control Knob to the desired baking temperature. 2. Push START. If START is not pushed, the control will beep as a reminder. 3. The preheat indicator light will flash. When the temperature reaches the desired baking temperature, the control will beep 3 times, and the preheat indicator light will go out. The oven signal light will cycle on and off with the elements. 4. To cancel the baking function, turn Temperature Control Knob to OFF. To Change the Oven Temperature after Baking has Started: Turn Temperature Control Knob to the new, desired temperature. If the Power is Interrupted During a Bake Cycle: Set clock to time of day, then press START. To Broil Close the oven door to the broil stop position when broiling. 1. Turn Temperature Control Knob to the desired broil setting. The broiling temperature can be set at 2 different levels: High Broil (HI) and Low Broil (LO). Most food can be broiled at the HI broil setting. Select the LO broil setting to avoid excess browning or drying of foods that should be cooked to the well-done stage. 2. Push START. 3. When broiling is finished, turn Temperature Control Knob to OFF. 2

3 Setting Electronic Oven Controls (continued) AUTOMATIC TIMED COOKING: To Set the Automatic Timer (Timed Bake Feature) The BAKE TIME and STOP TIME controls operate the Timed Bake feature. The automatic timer will turn the oven on and off at the times you select in advance. The oven can be programmed to start immediately and shut off automatically or to begin baking at a later time with an automatic shutoff. To Begin Baking Immediately with an Automatic Shut-Off: 1. Be sure that the clock shows the correct time of day. 2. Place the food in the oven. 3. Turn Temperature Control Knob to the desired baking temperature. 4. Push BAKE TIME. "0:00" will flash in the display. 5. Push the UP or DOWN ARROW until the desired baking time appears in the display. 6. Push START. If START is not pushed, the control will beep as a reminder. Once the Controls are Set: a. The oven will come on and begin heating to the selected baking temperature. b. The current time of day will show in the display. To view the remaining Bake Time, push BAKE TIME. When the Set Bake Time Runs Out: a. "END" will appear in the display window and the oven will shut off automatically. b. The control will beep 3 times every 60 seconds until the Temperature Control Knob is turned to OFF. To Change the Bake Time or Stop Time after Baking has Started: Push BAKE TIME or STOP TIME. Then, push the UP or DOWN ARROWS. Use caution when using the automatic timer. Use the automatic timer when cooking cured or frozen meats and most fruits and vegetables. Foods that can easily spoil such as milk, eggs, fish, meat or poultry, should be chilled in the refrigerator first. Even when chilled, they should not stand in the oven for more than 1 hour before cooking begins, and should be removed promptly when cooking is completed. DELAYED START: For a Delayed Start Time and Automatic Shut-Off: Follow steps 1-5 above, THEN: 6. Push STOP TIME. The earliest possible stop time will flash in the display. 7. Push the UP or DOWN ARROW until the desired stop time appears in the display. 8. Push START. 9. Once the controls are set, the control calculates the time when baking will start in order to finish at the time you have set. When the Set Bake Time Runs Out: a. "END" will appear in the display window and the oven will shut off automatically. b. The control will beep 3 times every 60 seconds until the Temperature Control Knob is turned to OFF. To Change the Oven Temperature after Baking has Started: Turn Temperature Control Knob to the new, desired temperature. To Change the Bake Time or Stop Time after Baking has Started: Push BAKE TIME or STOP TIME. Then, push the UP or DOWN ARROWS. NOTE: To cancel any baking function, turn Temperature Control Knob to OFF 3

4 Oven Cleaning NOTE: During the self cleaning, the surface elements, when used, are subjected to high heat. To ensure maximum element life, a safeguard locks off the use of the surface elements during the self-clean cycle. Once the oven cleaning cycle is complete and the oven door can be opened, the surface elements can be utilized. To Start the Self-Clean Cycle *We recommend a 2 hour self-clean cycle for light soils and a 3 hour cycle for average to heavy soils. To Set the Controls: 1. Be sure the oven door is closed. 2. Turn Temperature Control Knob to CLEAN. 3. Push START. "3:00" will appear in the display. (The oven control will automatically program the oven for a 3 hour clean cycle.) 4. If you want a 2 hour clean cycle, press the DOWN ARROW. "2:00" will appear in the display. 5. As soon as the door is closed, the motor driven lock will begin to close automatically and the "Locked" indicator light will flash and "DR" will glow in the display, ONCE THE DOOR IS LOCKED "CLN" will appear in the display and the "LOCKED" indicator light remains on. 6. Press START at any time during the self-clean cycle to review remaining cleaning time. Stopping or Interrupting a Self-Cleaning Cycle If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a self-cleaning cycle: 1. Turn Temperature Control Knob to OFF. 2. Once the oven has cooled down and the "Locked" indicator light has gone completely out (and is not flashing), the oven door can be opened. When the Self-Clean Cycle is Completed 1. The time of day will appear in the display window and the "Locked" indicator light will continue to glow. 2. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "Locked" indicator light has gone completely out (and is not flashing), the oven door can be opened. DO NOT force the oven door open. This can damage the automatic door locking system. Use caution when opening the door after the self-cleaning cycle is completed. The oven may still be VERY HOT. Adjusting Oven Temperature Note: The adjustments made will not change the self-cleaning temperature. When first using the oven, be sure to follow recipe times and temperatures. If you think the oven is too hot or too cool, the temperature in the oven can be adjusted. Before adjusting, test a recipe by using a temperature setting that is higher or lower than the recommended temperature. The baking results should help you to decide how much of an adjustment is needed. To Adjust Oven Temperature 1. With the dial set to OFF, press and hold START for 30 seconds until a single beep is heard. 2. Within 5 seconds, turn the Temperature Control Knob clockwise to either the High Broil (HI) or Low Broil (LO) setting. 3. The display now indicates the amount of degrees offset between the original factory temperature setting and the current temperature setting. If the oven control has the original factory calibration, the display will read "00." 4. The temperature can now be adjusted up or down 35 F (17 C), in 5 F (1 C) steps, by pushing and holding the UP or DOWN ARROW. Adjust until the desired amount of degrees offset appears in the display. 5. When you have made the desired adjustment, turn the Temperature Control Knob to OFF. 4

Pour un tableau de commande silencieux. Un signal sonore se fera entendre chaque fois que vous appuyez sur une touche pour choisir une fonction. Si vous le désirez, il est possible de programmer les commandes pour qu'elles fonctionnent sans tonalité. Appuyez sur la touche HEURE D'ARRÊT en la retenant. Dans les 7 secondes qui suivent, la commande émettra un seul signal. Ceci empêchera les commandes d'émettre des signaux sonores lors de leur utilisation subséquente. Pour ré-entendre le son, appuyez de nouveau sur la touche HEURE D'ARRÊT pendant 7 secondes jusqu'à l'émission du signal sonore. 6 Réglage de l'horloge et de la minuterie Réglage de l'horloge Lorsque la cuisinière est branchée pour la première fois, ou chaque fois que son alimentation a été interrompue, "12:00" apparaît à l'écran. 1. Appuyez sur HORLOGE. 2. Appuyez immédiatement (en moins de 5 secondes) sur FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE ou DESCENDANTE jusqu'à ce que l'heure juste apparaisse à l'écran. Note: L'heure ne peut être changé durant le cycle de cuisson chronométrée ou le cycle autonettoyant. Réglage de la minuterie 1. Appuyez sur MINUTERIE. 2. Appuyez sur la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE pour augmenter le temps par intervalles de 1 minute. Appuyez sur la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE et retenez la pour faire avancer le temps par intervalles de 10 minutes. La minuterie peut-être réglée pour n'importe quel laps de temps, de 1 minute à 11 heures et 59 minutes. Note: Si vous appuyez d'abord sur la FLÈCHE DESCENDANTE, la minuterie indiquera 11 heures et 59 minutes. 3. L'écran affiche le décompte à rebours de la minuterie en minutes jusqu'à ce qu'il ne reste qu'une minute. Par la suite, le décompte à rebours s'affiche en secondes. 4. Lorsque le temps réglé est écoulé, la minuterie émet 3 signaux sonores. Elle continue à émettre des signaux sonores 3 fois à toutes les 60 secondes jusqu'à ce que vous ayez appuyé sur MINUTERIE. Note: La minuterie ne commence, ni n'arrête la cuisson. Elle sert à mesurer le temps pendant que vous cuisinez, et émet un signal sonore lorsque le temps réglé est écoulé. La minuterie peut être utilisée séparément ou durant le fonctionnement de toute autre fonction. Lorsque la minuterie est utilisée en même temps qu'une autre fonction, elle s'affiche à l'écran. Pour afficher les autres fonctions, appuyez sur la touche de fonction correspondante. Pour modifier le réglage de la minuterie pendant qu'elle est en fonctionnement: Appuyez sur la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE ou DESCENDANTE et retenez-la pour augmenter ou diminuer le temps qui reste. Pour annuler la Minuterie avant que le temps réglé soit écoulé: Appuyez sur MINUTERIE. Réglage du programmateur électronique CUISSON AU FOUR CONTRÔLÉE MANUELLEMENT Pour régler ou changer la température pour cuisson normale au four: Le four peut être programmé pour cuire à n'importe quelle température, de 170 F à 550 F (77 C à 288 C). Réglage des commandes pour la cuisson normale au four: 1. Tournez le bouton de commande de température à la température de cuisson désirée. 2. Pressez DÉPART. Si la touche DÉPART n'est pas pressée, le programmateur émettra un signal sonore comme rappel. 3. Les voyants lumineux "Préchauffer" et "Four" s'allument, lorsque la température désirée est atteinte, le programmateur émet 3 signaux sonores et le voyant lumineux "Préchauffer" s'éteint. Le voyant lumineux "Four" s'allume et s'éteint selon le cycle de fonctionnement des éléments. 4. Pour annuler la fonction cuisson au four, tournez le bouton de commande à ARRÊT (OFF). Pour changer la température du four après le départ de la cuisson: Tournez le bouton de commande à la nouvelle température désirée. S'il y a eu une panne de courant durant le cycle de cuisson au four: Réglez l'heure, puis pressez DÉPART. Cuisson au gril Laissez la porte entrouverte à la position d'arrêt grill pendant la cuisson au gril. 1. Tournez le bouton de commande de température au réglage gril désiré. Le réglage du gril offre deux options: L'option gril (HAUT), ou l'option gril (BAS). La plupart des aliments peuvent cuire au réglage gril (HAUT). Réglez à gril (BAS) pour ne pas trop griller/brûler la surface ou assécher les aliments qui doivent être bien cuits. 2. Pressez DÉPART. 3. Lorsque la cuisson au gril est terminée, tournez le bouton de commande à ARRÊT (OFF). PROGRAMMATEUR ÉLECTRONIQUE DU FOUR 2

7 Réglage du programmateur électronique (suite) CUISSON MINUTÉE AU FOUR Pour programmer une cuisson chronométrée: Les touches de commande TEMPS DE CUISSON et HEURE D'ARRÊT contrôlent la cuisson chronométrée. Le programmateur met le four en marche et l'arrête aux heures prédéterminées. On peut programmer le four pour commencer la cuisson immédiatement et l'arrêter automatiquement ou pour une mise en marche différée et un arrêt automatique. Pour commencer la cuisson immédiatement et l'arrêter automatiquement: 1. Assurez-vous que l'horloge indique l'heure désirée. 2. Placez la nourriture dans le four. 3. Tournez le bouton de commande à la température de cuisson désirée. 4. Appuyez sur TEMPS DE CUISSON "0:00" s'affiche. 5. Appuyez sur la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE ou DESCENDANTE jusqu'à ce que le temps de cuisson désiré apparaisse à l'écran. 6. Pressez DÉPART. Si la touche DÉPART n'est pas pressée, le programmateur émettra un signal sonore comme rappel. Une fois les commandes réglées: a. Le four s'allume et commence à chauffer pour atteindre la température de cuisson sélectionnée. b. L'heure sera affichée. Pour visionner le temps de cuisson restant, pressez TEMPS DE CUISSON. Lorsque le TEMPS DE CUISSON sélectionné est écoulé: a. "END" ( FIN ) apparaît à l'écran et le four s'éteint automatiquement. b. Le programmateur émet 3 signaux sonores à toutes les 60 secondes jusqu'à ce que le bouton de commande de température soit tourné à ARRÊT ( OFF ). Pour changer le temps de cuisson ou l'heure d'arrêt que la cuisson a débuté: Pressez TEMPS DE CUISSON ou HEURE D'ARRÊT. Pressez ensuite la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE ou DESCENDANTE. Faites attention en réglant une cuisson retardée. À utiliser pour faire cuire de la viande salaisonnée ou congelée et la plupart des fruits et légumes. Les aliments qui se gâtent facilement comme le lait, les oeufs, le poisson, la viande ou la volaille, doivent être d'abord réfrigérés. Même une fois refroidis, ils ne doivent pas rester dans le four plus d'une heure avant le début de la cuisson, et doivent être rapidement enlevés lorsque la cuisson est terminée. DÉPART DIFFÉRÉ DE LA CUISSON Pour une mise en marche différée et un arrêt automatique: Répétez les étapes 1 à 5 indiquées plus haut, et terminez l'opération comme suit: 6. Appuyez sur HEURE D'ARRÊT. La première heure d'arrêt possible s'affiche à l'écran. 7. Appuyez sur la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE ou DESCENDANTE jusqu'à ce que l'heure d'arrêt désirée s'affiche à l'écran. 8. Pressez DÉPART. 9. Une fois les commandes réglées, le contrôleur calcule l'heure à laquelle la cuisson doit commencer de manière à terminer à l'heure d'arrêt sélectionnée. Lorsque le temps de cuisson sélectionné est écoulé: a. "END" ( FIN ) s'affiche à l'écran et le four s'éteint automatiquement. b. Le programmateur émet 3 signaux sonores à toutes les 60 secondes jusqu'à ce que le bouton de commande de température soit tourné à ARRÊT ( OFF ). Pour changer la température du four après le début de la cuisson: Tournez le bouton de commande à la nouvelle température désirée. Pour changer le temps de cuisson ou l'heure d'arrêt que la cuisson a débuté: Pressez TEMPS DE CUISSON ou HEURE D'ARRÊT. Pressez ensuite la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE ou DESCENDANTE. NOTE: Pour annuler une fonction de cuisson, tourner le bouton de commande de température à OFF (arrêt). PROGRAMMATEUR ÉLECTRONIQUE DU FOUR 3

8 Nettoyage du four Note: Les éléments de surface sont exposés à des températures élevées s'ils sont utilisés alors que le four fonctionne en mode autonettoyant. Pour maximiser la durée de vie des éléments de surface, un système de protection les rend hors d'usage pendant le cycle autonettoyant du four. Les éléments de surface redeviennent fonctionnels lorsque le cycle de nettoyage est complété et que la porte du four peut être ouverte. Démarrage du cycle autonettoyant Nous recommandons un cycle autonettoyant de 2 heures pour la saleté légère, un cycle de 3 heures pour la saleté moyenne à élevée. Pour régler les commandes: 1. Assurez-vous que la porte est fermée. 2. Tournez le bouton de commande à NETTOYER. 3. Pressez DÉPART. "3:00" apparaîtra sur l'afficheur. ( Le programmateur se règle automatiquement pour un cycle de nettoyage de 3 heures.) 4. Si vous préférez un cycle d'une durée de 2 heures, pressez sur la touche FLÈCHE DESCENDANTE, "2:00" est affiché. 5. Lors du verrouillage, le voyant lumineux "VERROUILLÉ" clignotera et "DR" apparaîtra à l'afficheur, une fois le verrouillage complété, "CLN" apparaîtra à l'afficheur et le voyant lumineux "VERROUILLÉ" reste allumé. N'OUVREZ PAS la porte pendant que la lampe témoin clignote (15 secondes sont requises pour que le mécanisme de fermeture de la porte complète son cycle). 6. Pressez DÉPART en tout temps pendant le cycle autonettoyant pour visionner le temps de nettoyage restant. Arrêt ou interruption d'un cycle autonettoyant en fonctionnement Si vous devez arrêter ou interrompre le cycle autonettoyant. 1. Tournez le bouton de commande à ARRÊT ( OFF ). 2. Vous pourrez ouvrir la porte du four après qu'il soit refroidi et que le voyant lumineux "VERROUILLÉ" se soit éteint. À la fin du cycle autonettoyant 1. L'heure apparaît à l'écran, et le voyant lumineux "VERROUILLÉ" reste allumé jusqu'à ce que le four soit refroidi suffisamment. 2. On peut ouvrir la porte du four lorsque le voyant lumineux "VERROUILLÉ" s'est éteint. N'ESSAYEZ PAS d'ouvrir de force la porte du four. Ceci risque d'endommager le système de verrouillage automatique. Soyez prudent en ouvrant la porte du four à la fin du cycle autonettoyant. Le four risque d'être encore TRÈS CHAUD. Pour ajuster la température du four Note: Les ajustements ne changeront pas la température de grillage ou du cycle autonettoyant. Assurez-vous lors d'un premier usage de suivre les temps et températures des recettes. Si vous estimez que le four est trop chaud ou trop froid, sa température peut être ajustée. Essayez auparavant une recette en utilisant un réglage plus élevée ou plus bas que la température recommandée. Les résultats de cuisson devraient vous aider à décider du niveau d'ajustement nécessaire. Pour ajuster la température du four: 1. Le bouton de commande étant au repère ARRÊT, pressez et tenez enfoncé la touche DÉPART pendant 30 secondes jusqu'à ce qu'un signal sonore soit entendu. 2. Dans les 5 secondes suivantes, tournez le bouton de commande de température dans le sens horaire au réglage gril (HAUT) ou gril (BAS). 3. L'afficheur indique en degrés l'écart entre la température de réglage initial de l'usine et le réglage de température actuel. L'afficheur indiquera "0:00" si le contrôleur possède encore le réglage original de l'usine. 4. La température peut maintenant être ajustée à la hausse ou à la baisse de 35 F (17 C) maximum, par l'intervalles de 5 F (1 C) en pressant et en retenant enfoncée la touche FLÈCHE ASCENDANTE ou DESCENDANTE. Réglez l'écart jusqu'à ce que la différence voulue apparaisse à l'écran. 5. Après avoir fait ce réglage, tournez le bouton de commande de température à ARRÊT ( OFF ).
