LYNDON RUSH Position/Poste: Pilot Height/Taille: 1.83 m Weight/Poids: 105 kg Date of Birth/ Date de naissance: November 24, 1980 Place of Birth/Ville natale: Saskatoon, Sask. Residence/Résidence: Sylvan Lake, Alta. Hometown/chez soi: Humboldt, Sask. Twitter: Goldrush781 BACKGROUND: Lyndon played football for five years at the University of Saskatchewan before receiving a call from Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton urging him to give the sport of bobsleigh a try. While training as a potential brakeman at a development camp in 2004, Lyndon pulled his hamstring that forced a change in plans. Instead of becoming a brakeman, Lyndon decided to attend the driver s school. Lyndon has developed into one of the top pilots in Canada having raced on the America s Cup circuit in 2004, and the Europa Cup circuit until 2006 while also gaining World Cup experience. During the 2009-10 season, Lyndon emerged as the new leader of the Canadian men s bobsleigh program after winning World Cup gold medals in both the two- and four-man events prior to making history when he became the first Canadian in more than 40 years to win an Olympic medal in the four-man event. Rush and his team of Chris Le Bihan, David Bissett and Lascelles Brown captured the bronze medal on home ice in Whistler, B.C. He added to his historic run two years ago by capturing his first-ever World Championship medal when he and Jesse Lumsden teamed up to claim the silver in Lake Placid, N.Y. The Canadian duo joined forces last year to win the overall World Cup two-man title. Lyndon has a wife and three children. Rush_2013_fr Athlete Profile/Biographie d athlète last updated 13-11-15 Page 1 of 5
