Objectives to organize a working table on present and emergent professions in the world of fashion to explore similarities and differences of fashion qualifications in the two regions to develop learning and practical activities among partner schools of fashion to improve language competences of the members of the consortia Main activities Formal project meetings and informal briefings Visits and teachers exchanges to partners institutions and schools A special online training course on Auralog platform from January 2010 till February 2011 offered to partners of both regions opportunities to improve language competences in French and Italian, thus facilitating interaction during exchanges and meetings.
Results/outcomes: Study and Research Two teams in the partner regions have produced a Study and Research on Fashion Professions and Training with the help of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Milan and Institut Français de la Mode in Paris. The two-hundred page study focuses on: a) vocational training; b) connections with the labour market; c) old and emerging professions in the field of fashion. 4

Results/outcomes: Stakeholders Round-table Event: round-table led by the General Director of Lombardy Education Authority and the Director of International and European Affairs of Ile-de- France Region. Venue: Palazzo Bagatti-Valsecchi in the heart of Milan Fashion district Objective: discussion on findings of the Comparative Study and Research on Fashion Professions and Training Participants: the French Ambassador in Italy, the Vice-President of the Region of Lombardy, the President of the National Chamber for Italian Fashion, two members of the Italian and French Parliaments, administrators from the Italian and French Ministries of Education, famous stylists, designers, representatives of professional Associations and partners of the consortia. Results/outcomes: Fashion events Schools in the partnership organized two main fashion events: 1. Fashion for Dummies: an expo-performance hosted by the French Cultural Centre in Milan at Palazzo delle Stelline, from the 23 rd to the 29 th September 2009. Visitors could see students from Lombardy partner schools manufacturing a series of dummies/mannequins under the supervision of the French stylist Pascal Gautrand. 8
Results/outcomes: Fashion events 2. Milan-Paris: le Fil de la Mode: a fashion parade of 30 garments designed and tailored by students from the five fashion schools of the partnership organized in the beautiful premises of the Italian Consulate in Paris on the 1 st of April 2011. 9
Results/outcomes: Teaching Modules A team produced three teaching modules in French and in Italian based on CLIL/Emile methodology. These modules aim to activate learners with content and language activities on clothes manufacturing and on the organization of Fashion Events. Modules are to be used for training sessions and during job shadowing of French teachers in Italian fashion vocational schools and vice-versa. Longues en général de 5 centimètres sur un de large avec un bout pointu, les baleines de col sont, la plupart du temps, en plastique et de forme variable. Elles se logent dans un repli prévu à cet effet sous le col.
The most relevant results: different professionals, political and administrative authorities worked together analysing and comparing trends and key professional competences needed in the world of fashion; the Study and Research on Fashion raised an important debate in both regions and has become a reference document also at national levels; exchange of best practice, real cooperation among students and teachers and long lasting connections among educational/vocational institutions and the world outside school were activated in the two most important European regions that share leadership in Fashion and Design. 12
