2 Electricité Appareil à cadre tournant Cet appareil de conception simple et robuste permet d initier les élèves au phénomène d induction et du courant alternatif. Il est possible en effet : de mettre en évidence la production d une force électromotrice alternative lorsque la bobine (cadre) tourne devant un appareil créateur d induction constitué par un aimant ou même dans le champs magnétique terrestre. d observer l influence de la vitesse de rotation et de la position par rapport au cadre. d introduire le principe de l alternateur (comparaison avec l alternateur de bicyclette). C est en outre un élément de technologie facilement démontable et intéressant puisque se pose la nécessité d effectuer un raccordement électrique sur une pièce en mouvement (sortie des fils du cadre mobile), problème crucial dans la réalisation des machines tournantes électriques. 1 Principe description 1.1 Sensibilité de l appareil La qualité de l expérience dépend de la valeur du champ coercitif de l aimant et de la sensibilité du Galvanomètre. Néanmoins, avec notre aimant barreau ticonal et notre galvanomètre (Réf ) on peut obtenir une déviation correspondant à un courant de 70 μa. FRANÇAIS 1

3 Electricité Appareil à cadre tournant Dans un champ magnétique terrestre la déviation maximale sur le galvanomètre (Réf ) est d environ 2 à 3 μa. 1. Ensemble support/came en plastique A.B.S. 2. 4 Electricité Appareil à cadre tournant 1.2 Accessoires complémentaires Galvanomètre à zéro central, Réf Aimant droit ticonal, Réf Manipulations 2.1 Mise en évidence de la force électromotrice alternative avec un aimant Relier les bornes 7 et 10 au galvanomètre. Poser l aimant sur le guide 6. En tournant la manivelle, l aiguille du galvanomètre dévie et prend un mouvement alternatif, bien qu il faille tenir compte de l inertie du cadre du galvanomètre. On pourra également noter que l amplitude de la déviation est fonction de la position de l aimant par rapport au cadre et du type d aimant. 2.2 Mise en évidence de la force électromotrice alternative dans le champ terrestre En tournant le cadre dans le champ terrestre une force électromotrice apparaît. On pourra utiliser l appareil de telle manière qu il repose sur les butées 15 (cas de rotation horizontale). En disposant de l axe de rotation perpendiculaire au champ terrestre l amplitude est maximale. 3 Service après vente La garantie est de 2 ans, le matériel doit être retourné dans nos ateliers. 6 Electricity Moving coil instrument This simple and sturdy instrument is used to introduce the students to the phenomenon of induction and a.c. current. Indeed, it allows you to: evidence the generation of an a.c. electromotive force when the coil (frame) rotates in front of an induction-generating device comprised of a magnet or even in the magnetic field of the Earth. observe the influence of rotation speed and of the position with respect to the moving coil. introduce the principle of the alternator (comparison with a bicycle generator). Moreover, the instrument is an easy-to-disassemble, interesting technological element in view of the need to make electrical connections on a moving member (moving coil tap wires), a crucial problem in the making of rotary electrical devices. 1 Principle description 1.1 Instrument sensitivity The quality of the experiment is dependent on the strength of the magnet coercive force and on the sensitivity of the galvanometer. However, our Ticonal bar magnet and our galvanometer (Ordering Code: ) allow a deflection corresponding to a 70 μa current. In a terrestrial magnetic field, the maximum deviation of the galvanometer (Ordering Code: ) is approx. 2 3 μa. ENGLISH 5

8 Electricity Moving coil instrument 1.2 Ancillary equipment Center-zero galvanometer Ordering Code: Ticonal straight magnet Ordering Code: Experiments 2.1 Demonstration of the A.C electromotive force by using a magnet Connect terminals 7 and 10 to the galvanometer. Place the magnet in guide 6. When the crank handle is rotated, the galvanometer needle deflects and assumes an alternating motion, though the galvanometer frame inertia must be taken into account. Note that the deflection amplitude is also dependent on the magnet position with respect to the moving coil and on the magnet type. 2.2 Demonstration of the A.C electromotive force in the earth magnetic field When the moving coil rotates in the Earth magnetic field, an electromotive force is generated. The instrument can be used so that it is rested on the stops 15 (in the case of horizontal rotation).
