2 1. Algemeen voorwoord 1. Algemeen In uw nieuwe vaatwasmachine, de CaterChef U-1, zijn geavanceerde productietechnieken toegepast. Elke CaterChef machine die onze fabriek verlaat, wordt zorgvuldig op een goede werking gecontroleerd. Lees deze handleiding zorgvuldig door voordat u de machine installeert en in gebruik neemt. Voor uw eigen veiligheid en voor een lange levensduur moet u de automaat volgens de instructies in deze handleiding gebruiken. Op die manier behaalt u met de U-1 de beste resultaten. Deze handleiding dient als leidraad voor de installatie, bediening en het onderhoud. Houd deze handleiding binnen handbereik tot u vertrouwd bent met de automaat en berg deze vervolgens op een goede en droge plaats op. Zorg ervoor dat alle personen die deze automaat bedienen en onderhouden weten waar de handleiding ligt, zodat deze indien nodig snel ter hand kan worden genomen. Indien u de handleiding kwijt bent of als deze onleesbaar is geworden, kunt u een exemplaar bij uw dealer bestellen. NEDERLANDS 2. Wij kunnen niet aansprakelijk worden gesteld voor fouten en lichamelijk letsel als gevolg van foutieve onderhoudswerkzaamheden die niet in deze handleiding beschreven staan, niet door een installateur uitgevoerde werkzaamheden en evenmin als gevolg van een onjuiste bediening of het niet opvolgen van de aanwijzingen in deze handleiding. Verder verwijzen wij naar de garantie en veiligheid onderwerpen in deze gebruiksaanwijzing. Neem de afwasmachine pas in gebruik als u alle onderdelen van deze handleiding hebt gelezen en begrepen. Neem bij twijfel contact op met uw dealer. Let op: De machine werkt alleen als de wastank volledig gevuld is en de boiler op temperatuur is. Bij uitvoering met afvoerpomp (* ) begint wastank te vullen als de boiler op 60 graden is

4 3. Veiligheidsinstructies Veiligheidsinstructies Voor een goede werking dient de koper speciale aandacht aan het volgende te besteden: NEDERLANDS Veiligheid 1. Een vakkundige installateur dient voor de installatie en uitleg van de machine te zorgen. 2. Bedienend personeel moet steeds worden geschoold in het correcte gebruik en de veilige bediening. 3. Gebruik of berg geen ontvlambare stoffen in de nabijheid van de machine op. 4. Sluit de machine uitsluitend via een volgens de voorschriften aangebracht stopcontact met voldoende vermogen en randaarde aan. Na plaatsing van de machine moet de aansluitstekker zonder verlengkabel in het stopcontact worden gestoken. 5. Zorg ervoor dat de CatarChef goed geaard is om een elektrische schok te voorkomen. De aansluitkabel van de machine mag alleen via de stekker uit het stopcontact worden getrokken; nooit via de kabel. 6. De CaterChef moet op een groep met voldoende zekering worden aangesloten. De stroomvoorziening moet aan de normale belastingeisen voldoen. Indien u de aansluitkabel moet vervangen, schakel dan een erkende installateur in. 7. Steek uw handen nooit in de machine vlak na gebruik en open tijdens het gebruik ook de deur niet. U kunt uw handen aan het hete water of de hete stoom etc. verbranden. 8. Om ongelukken te vermijden mag de machine niet te dicht bij een muur worden opgesteld of op een daarvoor niet geschikte tafel worden geplaatst, alleen op het originele onderstel (optioneel). 9. Voor uw eigen veiligheid mag u daarvoor niet bestemde delen van de machine niet demonteren. 10. De veiligheidsvoorziening (deur) en elektrische installatie moeten regelmatig worden gecontroleerd. 11. Schakel de stroom en watertoevoer uit als er schade aan de machine zichtbaar is. 12. Ontkoppel de stroom en watertoevoer voordat er reparaties aan de machine worden uitgevoerd. 13. Reparaties mogen uitsluitend door een erkende installateur worden uitgevoerd. Het gebruik van de machine 1. De machine mag alleen worden gebruikt voor het reinigen van bestek, serviesgoed en algemene keukenbenodigdheden. Wij aanvaarden geen aansprakelijkheid als er schade ontstaat door het gebruik voor andere daarvoor niet bestemde doeleinden. 2. Laat alleen originele onderdelen gebruiken. Wij aanvaarden geen aansprakelijkheid als er schade ontstaat als gevolg van het gebruik van niet-originele onderdelen. 3. De machine mag alleen door een erkende installateur worden geïnstalleerd en gerepareerd. 4. Controleer voor gebruik of de watertoevoerslang en waterafvoerslang correct zijn aangesloten. De benodigde maatregelen moeten worden genomen als er water lekt of slangen los zitten. 5. Plaats geen te zware voorwerpen, verwarmingsapparaten of voorwerpen die gemakkelijk vloeistof verliezen boven op de afwasmachine. 6. Gebruik geen ontvlambare of giftige oplosmiddelen als reinigingsmiddel. 7. Laat de installateur tijdig versleten aansluitkabels of schakelaars en overige versleten of beschadigde onderdelen vervangen. De machine mag niet worden gebruikt als deze zich in een slechte staat bevindt. 8. Start de machine niet als er sprake is van losse of beschadigde onderdelen. 9. Laat de deur open (kier) als de automaat langer niet in gebruik is. Sluit de stroom en de watertoevoer af na het gebruik. 10. Voor een goede werking dient het wasreservoir en de korffilter regelmatig, zeker iedere dag en bij intensief gebruik tussendoor te worden schoongemaakt Besparing en bescherming Een juiste omgang met water, elektriciteit en reinigingsmiddel komt het milieu ten goede en reduceert de kosten. Voorkom zoveel mogelijk gering gevulde korven en reinig de zeeffilter op tijd. 1. Verwijder grote etensresten van de afwas en gebruik een voorspoeldouche voordat u vaatwerk in de machine plaatst en deel het vaatwerk goed in. 2. Bepaal de benodigde hoeveelheid reinigingsmiddel, bepaald door de hoeveelheid vaatwas en verontreiniging en volg de instructies van de afwasmiddelfabrikant op. 3. Laat een waterontharding apparaat plaatsen

5 Algemene veiligheidsinstructies: 1. Een onjuist gebruik van de machine kan gevaarlijk zijn. 2. De machine mag alleen worden bediend door getrainde en gekwalificeerde personen. Deze dienen professionele instructie te krijgen i.v.m. de bediening, veilige omgang met de machine en de veiligheidsinstructies + bedieningsinstructies te hebben gelezen en opgevolgd. 3. De temperatuur van het reiniging- en spoelwater is hoog tijdens het gebruik. Raak het niet aan. Net afgewassen vaatwerk kan heet zijn. Denk aan de veiligheid van u en uw medewerkers. 4. Als de machine in werking is, staan de elektrische componenten onder spanning. Zorg ervoor om eerst de stroom uit te schakelen alvorens u de machine reinigt. Gebruik geen waterslang of hogedrukspuit om de machine te reinigen. 5. De tankverwarming is nog heet nadat het waterreservoir is geleegd (na de stroom en water uitschakeling). Wees extra voorzichtig bij het reinigen. 6. Gebruik alleen professionele reinigingsmiddelen die door een erkende fabrikant worden aangeboden. Professionele reinigingsmiddelen en naspoelmiddelen kunnen bijtend en alkalisch zijn. Ga zorgvuldig met deze middelen om. 4. Korte inleiding Vaatwasmachine NEDERLANDS Algemeen Uw nieuwe CaterChef is een halfautomatische vaatwasmachine geschikt voor 50x50 cm korven. Open de deur om het rek eruit of erin te doen. Na sluiting van de deur en het daarna indrukken van de startknop wordt automatisch een reiniging- en spoelcyclus uitgevoerd (standaard instelling 120 sec.) deze is d.m.v. de display te veranderen. Als de waterstand laag is, wordt er automatisch water bijgevuld als de deur wordt gesloten. Zodra het normale waterniveau is bereikt, volgt er automatisch een reiniging- en spoelcyclus. De machine is o.a. uitgerust met een elektrische verwarming voor de boiler van 3 KW (230 V) of 6 KW (400V), wasreservoir verwarming, watertoevoerklep, zeef filterkorf, deurbeveiliging, cyclus startknop en instelling display - 5 -

Als u schade vaststelt aan de machine, bewaar dan het verpakkingsmateriaal en neem direct contact op met de leverancier. Controleer voor de installatie of de netspanning overeenkomt met de elektrische specificaties op het typeplaatje dat zich op de vaatwasmachine bevindt. Na het uitpakken dient u de handleiding en niet behorende toebehoren eruit nemen. Plaats van opstelling (installateur) Zet de machine op zijn gebruiksplaats neer. Stel de afwasautomaat met behulp van de verstelbare voetjes waterpas op het benodigde niveau. Voordat de machine definitief opgesteld wordt, dient de installateur te controleren of de elektrische aansluiting, de watertoevoerslang, de afvoeraansluiting, de externe zeeppompen (indien aanwezig) correct zijn aangesloten. Controleer tevens of er genoeg ruimte is om de deur te openen en zorg ervoor dat de machine vrij staat en goed toegankelijk is voor de dagelijkse reiniging en het onderhoud

Installateur) Waarschuwing 1. De elektrische aansluiting en aarding moeten aan de plaatselijke elektrotechnische voorschriften voldoen. 2. Voordat u de automaat aansluit moet u controleren of de spanning en zekering overeenkomen met het typeplaatje van de machine. 3. Schakel de zekering uit (400V) en plaats een kaartje bij de zekering waarop staat aangegeven dat u werkzaamheden aan het stroomcircuit uitvoert. Sluit de verschillend gekleurde stroomdraden op de correcte manier aan (400V) op het stroomnet volgens de beschrijving en volgens het elektrische schema, dat zich aan de binnenzijde van het machinepaneel bevindt. (Elektrisch schema: zie pag. 43) Selectie van kabel (400V) Gebruik de juiste selectie van stroomdraden en onderbrekingsschakelaar voor de stroomtoevoer. Zie de tabel met de belangrijkste technische gegevens voor de juiste selectie van de aansluitkabel

8 Wateraansluiting Waarschuwing 1. De wateraansluitingen moeten voldoen aan de voorschriften en veiligheidsnormen 2. Minimale waterdruk 2 kg/cm 2 dit omdat een te lage waterdruk de reinigingsresultaten beïnvloedt. De temperatuur van het instromende water mag niet hoger zijn dan 65 C, en de waterdruk mag niet hoger zijn dan 5 kg/cm 2. NEDERLANDS Sluit de waterleiding aan op de watertoevoer (3/4 inwendige schroefdraad). Reinig grondig uw handen voordat u de waterleiding aansluit op de kraan of op het magneetventiel. De fabrikant aanvaardt geen verantwoordelijkheid voor schade en kosten als gevolg van vreemde deeltjes (b.v. vuil, ijzer of kalk) in de kraan of in het magneetventiel. Trek voorzichtig aan de toevoerslang om te controleren of deze goed bevestigd is. Draai de kraan open en controleer of er geen water lekt. Voor elk gebruik moet worden gecontroleerd of de watertoevoerslang goed is bevestigd en de toevoer open staat. Deze dient lager te zijn dan de afvoeropening van de machine voor een natuurlijke afvoer. Anders kan de machine, indien mogelijk, ter verhoging o.a. geplaatst te worden op het RVS onderstel (optioneel) of dient de installateur een (optionele) afvoerpomp te plaatsen. Indien plaatselijke voorschriften een vetafscheider voorschrijven dient deze door een erkend bedrijf te worden geplaatst. Opmerking: Test na de installatie de druk van het instromende water. Als de stroomdruk minder is dan 2 kg/cm 2 moet een druk verhogingspomp worden geïnstalleerd (levering door derden). Als de stuwdruk hoger is dan 5 kg/cm 2 moet een druk reduceerventiel worden geïnstalleerd (levering door derden). Testen Watertoevoerslang Reinig de watertoevoerslang voordat deze wordt aangesloten. Reinig alle filters na het eerste gebruik. Wateraansluiting en stroomdruk Controleer of de toevoerslang stevig bevestigd is. Tijdens het verplaatsen kan de slang losraken en gaan lekken. Een te lage waterstroomdruk kan tot storingen in de machine leiden. Elektrische aansluiting Bevestig alle draden in de schakelkast (400V). Controleer of alle draden stevig vast zitten. Voer een visuele controle uit van de overige elektrische componenten, bijvoorbeeld de schakelaars en kabel. Controleer de binnenruimte Zorg ervoor dat er geen onderdelen in de binnenruimte aanwezig zijn die daar niet thuishoren (bijvoorbeeld: doeken, schroeven, moeren, gereedschap, verpakkingsmateriaal, etc.)

9 8. Display Algemeen Waarschuwing 1. Schakel de netspanning 230 V/400 V uit vóór installatie, onderhoud of vervanging. 2. Installatie, reparatie s en onderhoud uitsluitend door een erkende installateur. Pas altijd goed op tijdens werkzaamheden met elektra! Minimumeisen: a. Omgeving bedrijfstemperatuur: 0 ~ 40 C b. Luchtvochtigheid: 40 ~ 93% c. Ontstoring: IEC 801-norm d. Spanning: AC 400V/230V (+10%, -15%) 50 Hz ± 1 Hz e. Relaisuitgang: 230V/2A 9. Bediening Instellingen Display NEDERLANDS 1. Functietoetsen 1. AAN : Druk op deze toets om de machine te starten. 2. SET: Druk in de "AAN"-modus op SET om de parameterinstelling te activeren (origineel wachtwoord is 00) zie verder. 3. Omhoog : Druk op deze toets om de reinigingscyclus te kiezen (90 seconden / 120 seconden / 180 seconden). Nadat de cyclus is gekozen, verdwijnt de indicatie na 5 seconden; Druk in de SET-modus op deze toets om de temperatuur te verhogen. Bij langer indrukken blijft de temperatuur stijgen. 4. Omlaag : Druk in de SET-modus op deze toets om de temperatuur te verlagen. Bij langer indrukken blijft de temperatuur dalen. 5. Stop : Als deze toets wordt ingedrukt, stopt de machine. 2. Display Er zijn 4 wisselende LCD-displays op het bedieningspaneel. De 2 LCD's links geven de spoeltemperatuur aan, en de 2 LCD's rechts geven de reinigingstemperatuur aan

10 Parameterinstelling Druk na inschakeling van de machine op SET, voer daarna het wachtwoord (zie onder) in om de volgende instellingen te wijzigen: 1. P1 Max. spoeltemperatuur (90 ), weergegeven in LCD van spoeltemperatuur 2. P2 Controletemperatuur spoelen (70-90 ) weergegeven in LCD van spoeltemperatuur 3. P3 Reinigingstemperatuur (40-80 ), weergegeven in LCD van reinigingstemperatuur 4. P4 Limiettemperatuur spoelen (10-82 ) weergegeven in LCD van spoeltemperatuur 5. P5 Water vullen (0-40 s) weergegeven in LCD van spoeltemperatuur 6. P6 Spoeltijd (8-15 s) weergegeven in LCD van spoeltemperatuur Druk op de toets Omhoog of Omlaag om de instellingen te wijzigen als de LCD knippert. NEDERLANDS Druk op de toets Omhoog om de reinigingscyclus van 90 seconden / 120 seconden (standaard) of 180 seconden te kiezen. Deze wordt respectievelijk als C1, C2, C3 in de LCD van de spoeltemperatuur weergegeven. Nadat de cyclus is gekozen, verdwijnt de indicatie na 5 seconden. Wachtwoord instellen: 1. Pd Voer wachtwoord in (standaardwachtwoord is 00), weergegeven in LCD van de spoeltemperatuur; 2. PC Activeer de instellingsmodus, druk 2 seconden op SET, voer het wachtwoord in om een nieuwe modus (00-99) in te stellen en wacht enkele seconden. Voorbereiding na installatie en reiniging Plaats de zeefkorf en de filterinzet op de juiste plaats. Breng de overlooppijp stevig aan. (afb. 2) Sluit de deur goed. Druk één keer op de toets "AAN" om de computerbesturing te starten. Druk nog eens op de toets. De automaat vult zicht dan automatisch, zorg dat de watertoevoer is geopend. Open de deur en vergewis u ervan dat de waskuip vol water staat nadat de vulcyclus is voltooid. Indien automatische chemische pompen worden geïnstalleerd, moet u de instructies van de desbetreffende fabrikant opvolgen. Dan de reiniging- en spoelcyclus starten met de separate START knop, deze werkt daarna steeds nadat de deur is geopend om de korf er uit te halen, te vullen en daarna weer is gesloten. Start met de reiniging nadat de tank de juiste temperatuur heeft bereikt (zie display)

11 Aanbevolen bedrijfstemperatuur Reinigen Afb ~ 65 C (140 ~ 149 F) NEDERLANDS Spoelen 82 ~ 90 C (180 ~ 194 F) 11. Vaatwassen en reiniging Vaatwassen Verwijder eerst etensresten van de borden en reinig deze met een voorspoeldouche. Kies een geschikte reinigingscyclus van 90 s, 120 s of 180 s (standaard 120 sec.) afhankelijk van de bordgrootte en de aard van de verontreiniging. Plaats de borden in een bordenkorf. Plaats de borden niet tegen elkaar. Het water moet beide zijden van een bord goed kunnen bereiken. Plaats borden op hun zijkant altijd in een rek met bordsteunen. Kopjes, glazen en schalen moeten op hun kop in een universele korf of beter in een korf met compartimenten worden geplaatst (afb. 3). Bestek en andere kleine stukken vaatwerk kunnen los verspreid op de bodem van een fijnmazige bestekkorf worden gelegd of in speciale bestekkorfjes. Vul het rek, open de deur en schuif de korf in de CaterChef machine en sluit vervolgens de deur. De reiniging- en spoelcyclus beginnen na het indrukken van de Start knop, de na-spoelcyclus begint automatisch als de reinigingscyclus is beëindigd, waarna de totale cyclus is beëindigd (signaal). Open de deur als de reiniging- en naspoelcyclus zijn beëindigd en verwijder het rek met de schone borden. Schuif het volgende rek met vuil vaatwerk in de machine, sluit de deur en druk op Start knop. Indien u vaatwerk wilt toevoegen nadat de reinigingscyclus is gestart: Schakel de stroom (0) uit of open de deur 1 cm en wacht 10 seconden voordat u de deur geheel opent. Laat de sproeiarmen eerst vanzelf stoppen om te voorkomen dat heet water tegen uw lichaam spettert. Dan op Start drukken. Afb

12 Reiniging Aanbevolen wordt om de machine tussendoor te reinigen bij intensief gebruik of tenminste dagelijks. De reinigingsstappen zijn als volgt: 1. Schakel de stroom en watertoevoer uit. 2. Open de deur en verwijder eventueel de korf en grote drijvende etensresten. 3. Laat het wasreservoir leeglopen door de overlooppijp eruit te trekken. 4. Verwijder en leeg de zeefkorf, de filterinzet en de pomp inlaat zeef en reinig deze grondig. 5. Reinig de binnenruimte van de machine grondig. 6. Breng de zeefkorf, de filterinzet en de pomp inlaatzeef precies en correct weer aan. 7. Laat de deur open zodat de binnenruimte uit zichzelf kan opdrogen (eind schoonmaak). 8. Controleer of de reiniging - en spoelarmen vrij kunnen draaien en niet geblokkeerd worden. 9. Controleer of de sproeikoppen niet door kalk of andere afzettingen geblokkeerd zijn. 10. Uiteraard bij weer in gebruik name eerst de stroom- en watertoevoer etc. weer openen. NEDERLANDS 12. Onderhoud Waarschuwing Schakel vóór elk onderhoud de elektrische stroom uit! Reiniging- en spoelarmen De bovenste en onderste reiniging- en spoelarmen moeten onbelemmerd rond kunnen draaien en moeten enkele slagen blijven doordraaien nadat ze met de hand een draai hebben gekregen. Als de armen worden gecontroleerd, moet de stroom uitgeschakeld zijn. Draai vervolgens de armen en verwijder eventuele voorwerpen. Als de zeefkorf, de filterinzet en de pomp inlaatzeef niet op de juiste wijze zijn geplaatst, kunnen de sproelarmen en inspuiters door sommige voorwerpen (zoals etensresten of botjes) verstopt raken. De spoelarmen kunnen ten behoeve van de reiniging gemakkelijk worden verwijderd. Om de reiniging- en spoelarmen te verwijderen dienen de gekartelde moeren losgedraaid te worden, waarna de reiniging- en spoelarmen verwijderd kunnen worden (afb. 4). Afb.4 Opmerking: Voor de gekartelde moer van de bovenste reiniging- en spoelarm los is, moet deze spoelarm stevig vastgehouden worden. Let er op dat u ze niet laat vallen. De bovenste en onderste reiniging- en spoelarmen zijn uitwisselbaar

13 Onderhoud verhitting Vanwege het grote vermogen en het in veel gebieden kalkrijke water vormt zich makkelijk kalk op de verwarmingselementen, waardoor de warmtegeleiding nadelig wordt beïnvloed. Daarom is regelmatig onderhoud en reiniging noodzakelijk, gebruik een waterontharder! Verwijder kalkresten op de bodem van het reservoir. Neem bij twijfel contact op met uw dealer. Schakel de stroom uit, leeg het reservoir en voer controle uit en maak de zeef etc. schoon, verwijder voedselresten. 3. Te lage watertemperaturen. Na aanzetten onvoldoende opwarmtijd: Controleer in de display de desbetreffende temperaturen. 4. Incorrecte afwasmiddeldosering. Neem contact op met uw afwasmiddelen leverancier of uw dealer. 5. Ontkalking kan nodig zijn, gebruik een waterontharder! 6. De bordenkorven zijn niet correct beladen. 1. De (speciaal) korven zijn niet correct beladen. 2. Verkeerde spoelwatertemperatuur (Zie display). 3. Lage waterdruk als gevolg van een pompblokkering (regelmatig reinigen). 4. Buitensporige hardheid van het water gebruik een waterontharder! 5. Verkeerd reinigingsmiddel voor het type water. (wasmiddelen leverancier). 6. Verkeerd naspoelmiddel voor het type water. (wasmiddelen leverancier). 7. Verkeerde concentratie van reinigingsmiddel en naspoelmiddel. (wasmiddelen leverancier) Vreemde deeltjes voorkomen een goede werking van de watertoevoer. Opmerking: Na installatie moet deze worden gecontroleerd. Het kan zijn dat ijzerdeeltjes van de waterleidingbuis in de slang blijven steken. Draai de watertoevoer dicht. Draai de slang van de kraan af. Reinig de filter en monteer deze weer. Tevens kan een te lage waterdruk bij de watertoevoer de reden zijn

18 3. Safety Instructions Safety Instructions To ensure that the dishwasher functions correctly, the user must pay particular attention to the following: ENGLISH Safety 1. This machine should only be installed and demonstrated by an expert fitter. 2. All staff using the dishwasher must be fully trained in its correct and safe operation. 3. Do not use or store inflammable goods near the machine. 4. Only connect the machine to an electrical wall socket that has been situated in accordance with regulations and which has sufficient power and an earth connection. After the machine has been installed in the desired location, the connecting plug must be connected directly to the wall socket, and not via an extension lead of any kind. 5. Ensure that the CaterChef is correctly earthed to prevent any risk of electric shock. Only remove the connection from the wall socket by means of the plug; never by pulling the cable. 6. The CaterChef must be connected to a circuit with adequate fuses and the power supply must comply with normal load requirements. If the connecting cable needs to be replaced, this must be done by a certified fitter. 7. Never put your hands into the machine directly after use, and do not open the door while the machine is in use. To do so could result in scalding from the hot water or steam. 8. To avoid accidents, the machine must not be placed too close to a wall or on any table not intended for the purpose. It should only be placed on its original support frame (optional). 9. For your own safety, do not disassemble any parts of the machine not intended for disassembly. 10. The safety precautions (door) and electrical installation must be inspected regularly. 11. Turn off the power and water supply if there is any visible damage to the machine. 12. Disconnect the power and water supply before undertaking any repairs or maintenance to the machine. 13. Repairs must only be carried out by a properly qualified fitter. Using the machine 1. The machine is only intended for the cleaning of cutlery, crockery and general kitchen utensils. The manufacturers cannot accept any liability for damage resulting from the improper use of the machine for purposes other than that for which it was intended. 2. Only fit original spare parts. The manufacturers cannot accept any liability for damage resulting from the use of non-original spare parts. 3. The machine must only be installed and repaired by properly qualified and certified fitters. 4. Before you use the machine, check that the inlet hose and drain hose are connected correctly. The necessary remedial steps must be taken if there is any leakage of water or if any hoses are loose or damaged. 5. Do not place any heavy objects, heating appliances or vessels containing liquids that might leak on top of the dishwasher. 6. Do not use any inflammable or corrosive solvents to clean the machine. 7. Ensure that any damaged or worn connecting cables or switches and any other worn or damaged parts are replaced in good time by a qualified fitter. The machine must not be used if any of the above is in poor condition. 8. Do not operate the machine if there are any loose or damaged parts. 9. Leave the door open (ajar) when the machine is not in use and always turn off the power and water supply after use. 10. To ensure that the machine continues to function correctly, the reservoir and filter basket must be cleaned regularly; at least once a day and more often if the machine is being used intensively. Economy and protection Using water, electricity and cleaning agents correctly benefits the environment and will reduce costs. Avoid half-empty baskets as much as possible and clean the filter mesh in good time. 1. Remove large food remains from the dirty dishes and pre-rinse using a spray before loading into the dishwasher and distributing correctly. 2. Decide on the amount of detergent required, according to the amount of washing up and how heavily soiled it is, and following the detergent manufacturers instructions. 3. Install a water softening appliance

19 General safety Instructions: 1. Using the machine incorrectly can be dangerous. 2. The machine must only be operated by trained and qualified persons. They must receive professional training on the operation and safe handling of the dishwasher. They must also read and comply with the safety and operating instructions. 3. The cleaning and rinsing water reach high temperatures during use. Do not touch the freshly cleaned items - they may be hot enough to cause injury. Remember your safety and that of your employees. 4. When the machine is in use, the electrical components are live. Always make sure that the power is switched off before cleaning the machine. Do not clean the machine with a hose pipe or high pressure sprayer. 5. The heating element in the tank will still be hot after the water reservoir has emptied (and after the power and water have been turned off). Take extra care when cleaning. 6. Use only professional cleaning agents from a recognised manufacturer. Some professional cleaning and rinsing agents may be caustic and/or alkaline. Always take extra care when handling these products. General 4. Short introduction to the Dishwasher ENGLISH Your new CaterChef is a semi-automatic dishwasher which holds 50x50 cm baskets. Open the door to insert or remove the rack. After closing the door and pressing the start button, a wash and rinse cycle will start automatically (standard setting 120 sec). This can be altered using the display panel. If the water level is low, water will be added automatically once the door is closed. As soon as the normal water level has been reached, a wash and rinse cycle will follow automatically. The machine is fitted with an electrical heating element for the boiler of either 3 KW (230 V) or 6 KW (400V), wash reservoir heater, water inlet valve, filter strainer basket, door security lock, cycle start button and setting display

If you detect any damage to the machine, retain the packaging material and contact your supplier immediately. After unpacking, remove the instruction manual and accompanying accessories. Before installing the machine, check that the mains voltage matches the electrical specifications on the model plate of the dishwasher. Positioning the dishwashing (to be performed by a qualified fitter) Situate the machine where it will be used. Using the adjustable feet, adjust the dishwasher until it is level and at the required height. Before final installation of the machine, check that the power supply, water inlet hose, drainage outlet and external soap pump (if present) are connected correctly. Also check that there is enough space to open the door and make sure that the machine is standing freely and can be accessed easily for everyday cleaning and maintenance

The connection to the power supply and earth must comply with local electrical safety regulations. 2. Before connecting the machine, check that the voltage and fuses match the model plate on the machine. 3. Turn off the supply at the mains (400V circuit fuse box) and place a card, clearly visible, near the fuse box, stating that you are carrying out electrical work. Connect the colour-coded wires correctly (400V) to the mains according to the description and electrical diagram on the inside of the machine panel. (Electrical diagram: see page 43) Selecting the cable (400V) Select the correct cables and contact-breaker switch for the power supply you are using. Refer to the main technical specifications table to select the appropriate materials for connection

22 Connecting the water supply Warning 1. The water connections must comply with local safety standards and regulations. 2. The minimum water pressure required is 2 kg/cm 2. Cleaning performance will be adversely affected if water pressure is too low. The temperature of incoming water must not exceed 65 C, and water pressure must not exceed 5 kg/cm 2. Connect the inlet hose to the mains water supply (3/4 internal screw thread). Ensure that your hands are completely clean before you connect the tap or magnetic valve to the mains water supply. The manufacturers will not accept any responsibility for any damage or loss incurred as a result of foreign objects (e.g. dirt, iron or calcium) entering the tap or the magnetic valve. Pull carefully on the inlet pipe to ensure that it is firmly attached. Open the tap slowly and check that no water is leaking. It is necessary to first check that the inlet pipe is firmly attached and the supply line is open each time the dishwasher is used. This must be lower that the discharge outlet of the machine to ensure natural drainage. If necessary, to achieve this, the machine can be raised or placed on the stainless steel support frame (optional), or the fitter can install a drain pump (optional). If local regulations require a grease trap, it must be installed by a certified company. Note: After installation, test the pressure of the incoming water supply. If the hydrodynamic pressure is lower than 2 kg/cm 2, it will be necessary to install a pressure raising pump (from an independent supplier). If the stagnation pressure is higher than 5 kg/cm 2, it will be necessary to install a pressure reduction valve (from an independent supplier) Tests Water inlet hose Clean the water inlet hose before connecting it. Clean all filters after their first use. Water connection and hydrodynamic pressure Check that the inlet hose is firmly connected. The hose may come loose and start leaking if the dishwasher is moved. If the hydrodynamic pressure is too low, this may lead to malfunction of the machine. Electrical connection Connect up all the wires in the switch box (400V). Check that all wires are firmly connected. Check that the other electrical components, for example the switches and cable, appear to be in good order. Inspect the inside of the dishwasher Check that there is nothing inside the machine that does not belong there (for example: clothes, screws, nuts & bolts, tools, packaging materials, etc.)

23 8. General Display Warning 1. Always turn off the mains supply, voltage 230 V/400 V, before installation, servicing/maintenance or replacement. 2. Installation, repairs and maintenance should only be carried out by a qualified fitter. Always take care when working with electricity! Minimum requirements: a. Operating the Display Panel ENGLISH 1. Function keys 1. ON : Press this key to start the machine. 2. SET: Press SET in the "ON" mode to activate the parameter setting (original password is 00) see below. 3. Up : Press to select a wash cycle (90 seconds/120 seconds (standard) /180 seconds) The indication will disappear 5 seconds after the cycle has been selected. Press this key in SET mode to increase the temperature. The temperature will continue to rise for as long as the key is kept pressed in. 4. Down : Press this key in SET mode to reduce the temperature. The temperature will continue to fall as for as long as the key is kept pressed in. 5. Stop : Press this key to stop the machine. 2. Display There are 4 variable LCD displays on the operating panel. The 2 LCDs on the left indicate the rinse temperature, and the 2 LCDs on the right indicate the wash temperature

24 Parameter setting After turning the machine on, press SET and enter the password (see below) to alter the following settings: 1. P1 Max. after rinse temperature (90 ), shown in LCD for rinse temperature 2. P2 Control rinse temperature (70-90 ), shown in LCD for rinse temperature 3. After selecting a cycle, the indication will disappear after 5 seconds. Setting a password: 1. Pd Enter password (standard password is 00) - shown in LCD for the rinse temperature; 2. PC Activate the setting mode, press for 2 seconds on SET, enter the password to set a new mode (00-99) and wait for a few seconds. Preparation after installation and cleaning Install the strainer basket and filter inset correctly. Connect the overflow pipe firmly. (img. 2) Close the door properly. Press the "ON" button once to start computer operation. Press the button again. The machine will then fill up automatically. Make sure that the water supply is on. Open the door and check that the wash tub is full of water once the filling cycle is completed. If automatic chemical pumps are installed, follow the manufacturer s instructions. Then start the wash and rinse cycle with the START button, which will always start working after the door has been opened in order to remove and fill the rack, and then closed again. Start the wash after the tank has reached the correct temperature (see display)

Washing dishes and cleaning ENGLISH Washing dishes First remove any left-over food from the plates and clean them with a pre-rinse spray. Select the required wash cycle, 90 sec., 120 sec. or 180 sec. (standard 120 sec.) depending on the size of the plates and how dirty they are. Place the plates in a plate rack. The plates should not touch each other. The water must be able to access both sides of a plate properly. Always place plates on their side in a rack with plate supports. Cups, glasses and bowls must be placed upside down in an open basket or better still in a compartmentalised basket (img. 3). Cutlery and other small items can be spread loose on the bottom of a finely meshed cutlery basket or in special cutlery baskets. Fill the rack, open the door, slide the rack into the CaterChef machine and close the door again. The wash and rinse cycle will begin when the Start button is pressed, the after rinse cycle begins automatically when the wash cycle ends, after which the total cycle is finished (signal). Open the door when the wash and rinse cycles are finished and remove the rack of clean items. Slide the next rack of dirty dishes into the machine, close the door and press the Start button. If you need to add dishes after the wash cycle has started: turn off the power (0) or open the door 1 cm and wait for 10 seconds before opening the door completely. Allow the spray arms to stop by themselves to avoid being spattered by hot water. Then press Start. Afb

26 Cleaning We recommend that the machine is cleaned at least once a day or more often if it is used intensively. It must be cleaned according to the following steps: 1. Disconnect the power and water supply. 2. Open the door and remove the basket and any large food remains left floating. 3. Drain the wash reservoir by disconnecting the overflow pipe. 4. Remove and empty the strainer basket, filter inset and inlet strainer pump and clean them thoroughly. 5. Clean the inside of the machine thoroughly. 6. Replace the strainer basket, filter inset and inlet strainer pump precisely and correctly. 7. Leave the door open to allow the inside to dry naturally (end of clean). 8. Check that the wash and rinse arms can spin freely and are not obstructed. 9. Check that the spray jets are not blocked by limescale or other residue. 10. The power and water supplies must be switched back on before the machine is used again. 12. Maintenance Warning! Always disconnect power before any cleaning or maintenance operation! ENGLISH Wash and rinse arms The upper and lower wash and rinse arms must be able to spin freely and must continue to spin for several turns after they have been set off by hand. The power must be turned off while the arms are being checked. Spin the arms and remove any obstructive objects. If the strainer basket, filter inset and inlet strainer pump are not placed correctly, the spray arms and jets may be obstructed by such items as food remains or bones. The spray arms can be removed easily for cleaning. To remove the wash and rinse arms, the serrated nuts must be unscrewed, after which the wash and rinse arms can be removed (img. 4). Img.4 Comment: It is necessary to have a firm grip on the upper wash and rinse arms before totally unscrewing the serrated nut that holds them in place. Be careful not to let them drop. The upper and lower wash and rinse arms are interchangeable

27 Maintaining the heating elements Due to the high electrical load and lime-rich water found in many areas, it is common for limescale to form on the heating elements. This has a detrimental effect on heat conduction. This is why it is necessary to maintain and clean the dishwasher regularly and to use a water softener! Remove any limescale residue on the bottom of the reservoir. If in doubt, contact your dealer. Maintaining the water pipes Impurities in the water inlet hose (strainer) must be removed regularly to ensure a constant flow of water. Service If repairs or other adjustments are necessary, please contact your dealer or service company. 13. Detecting malfunctions This section could help prevent the need to call out a repair service. If a problem persists after all possible causes have been checked, contact your dealer or a qualified service company. Problem The machine will not work Possible causes & proposed solution First check that the power and water supplies are switched on and working correctly! Open the door and close it again, then press the Start button, and if it doesn t work: 1. There may be a blown fuse or activated circuit breaker in the meter cupboard. 2. Check if the internal fuse has blown. Switch off the power! 3. Check that the rinse arms can spin, remove dirt etc. regularly. Long wash cycle 1. The temperature in the boiler and/or reservoir is too low. (See the display) 2. Check the filter gauze in the water inlet pipe, and clean if necessary. 3. If there is too much limescale residue (consult dealer), use a water softener! ENGLISH Plates are not clean Spots and stains on cutlery, glasses and plates Water does not fill up or only does so slowly 1. Remove left-over food thoroughly before washing up, use a pre-rinse spray 2. The water pressure may be too low due to a blockage in the inlet strainer pump in the reservoir. Disconnect the power supply, empty the reservoir, inspect it and clean the strainer, etc, remove any food remains. 3. The water temperatures may be too low. Not enough warming up time after it has been turned on: Check the temperatures in the display panel. 4. Incorrect dose of detergent. Contact your detergent supplier or your dealer. 5. Descaling may be necessary, use a water softener! 6. The plate racks may not be loaded correctly. 1. The baskets are not loaded correctly. 2. Incorrect rinse water temperature (See display). 3.
