Activités préparatoires Le but de ces activités est de permettre aux élèves de préparer le terrain de la réflexion et de s approprier le sujet avant d étudier les documents du dossier ressources. Imprimez les documents Leur distribuez les documents Expliquez les tâches à faire et les écrits à produire L objectif de ces activités est de s approprier la matière nécessaire à la réalisation de la fiche biodiversité d un végétal ou d un animal, dans son environnement. 5
1. 1. Quel animal suis-je? Consignes pour les enseignants: Divisez la classe en groupes de 3 Expliquez les règles du jeu Consignes pour les apprenants: Dans le groupe de 3, pensez à un animal à faire deviner. Tous les animaux sont permis! (Mammifères, insectes, reptiles, poissons, etc.) Cherchez le vocabulaire nécessaire dans le dictionnaire pendant 5 minutes: habitat, nourriture, mode de déplacement, apparence physique, comportement 1 membre du groupe échange sa place avec un camarade d un autre groupe. Celui-ci ne sait donc pas quel animal il est, et doit le deviner en posant des questions, les autres doivent lui répondre par oui ou par non, et lui donner le vocabulaire nécessaire. L élève désigné peut poser des questions comme : - Ai-je des poils? plumes? écailles? - Suis-je grand? petit? Minuscule? - Est-ce que je marche? nage? rampe? - Est-ce que je vis sur terre? dans les airs? dans l eau? sous la terre? - Est-ce que je suis féroce? gentil? peureux? - Est-ce que je mange des insectes (insectivore)? d autres animaux (carnivore)? des plantes (de l herbe : herbivore, etc), des fruits (frutivore)? - Etc. 6

Correction pour les enseignants : Il y a 10 espèces menacées répertoriées dans ce graphique. Les espèces pour lesquelles les chiffres sont les plus élevés sont les plantes et les vertébrés. Les espèces pour lesquelles les nombres sont les moins élevés sont les reptiles et les amphibiens. «24% des mammifères sont menacés» «1% des mollusques est en voie de disparition» «11% des plantes sont en voie d extinction» «3% des amphibiens sont en péril» «0.05% des insectes sont menacés» - «Au XXè siècle, on a compté 260 extinctions de vertébrés alors qu on en estimait 1.0» - «On a constaté 50 disparitions de mammifères au XXè siècle alors qu on en attendait 0.09» - «Durant le XXè siècle, on a observé 40 disparitions d oiseaux alors qu on pensait en compter 0.19» - «On estimait une disparition de 0.08 amphibiens mais, au cours du XXè siècle, on en a enregistré 5» - «Au XXè siècle, on a noté une extinction de 150 espèces de poissons alors qu on en attendait 0.5» - «Pendant le XXè siècle, on a remarqué que 140 espèces de mollusques ont disparus alors que on en estimait 1.4» - «On a enregistré une extinction de 50 espèces d insectes au cours du XXè siècle alors qu on l évaluait à 19» - «On attendait une disparition de 0.8 espèces de crustacés. Cela veut dire que dans quelques années, les chiffres vont encore augmenter et beaucoup d espèces vont disparaître, telles que certains mammifères, certaines plantes, certains oiseaux, etc. Sur ce graphique, on voit que beaucoup d extinctions ont lieu au XXè siècle. Par conséquent, on peut imaginer que ces menaces sont le résultat de l activité humaine, comme par exemple la pollution, la surexploitation des terres agricoles, le réchauffement climatique, la déforestation, etc. Si nous ne voulons pas que d autres espèces disparaissent, nous devons protéger la nature : car protéger la nature, c est protéger nos animaux. Par exemple, nous pouvons décider de planter des arbres dans notre jardin, recycler le papier pour éviter d abattre des arbres inutilement, consommer moins de produits néfastes pour la couche d ozone, trouver une solution pour réduire la pollution (voitures hybrides et électriques, transports en commun, vélo ou marche à pied), etc. Il y a beaucoup de choses que l on peut faire au quotidien qui peuvent aider à protéger la nature. 20
