Résistance à l impact Chute d un bloc de glace de 45 kg d une hauteur de 61 m sans endommager le bâtiment Chute d un arbre sans endommager le bâtiment La toiture et le plancher sont fabriqués à partir d un système breveté de post-tension qui améliore l étanchéité à l humidité et augmente la résistance aux chocs mécaniques.
Préparation du site Le site doit avoir une capacité portante minimale de 1000 lb/pi² sur toute la surface de l assise du bâtiment. Dans le cas d un bâtiment non-isolé : Excaver le site 300 mm plus large et plus long que la dimension extérieure du bâtiment. Le fond de l excavation doit être 150 mm plus bas que le dessous projeté du bâtiment. Remplir l excavation d une couche de 100 mm de pierre concassée 0-19 mm, compacté à 95 % du proctor modifié. Finir et niveler correctement le dernier 50 mm avec de la criblure de pierre (ne pas compacter). Dans le cas d un bâtiment isolé : Excaver le site 300 mm plus large et plus long que la dimension extérieure du bâtiment. Le fond de l excavation doit être 175 mm plus bas que le dessous projeté du bâtiment. Une membrane géotextile est requise sous la pierre concassée. Remplir l excavation d une couche de 100 mm de pierre concassée 0-19mm, compactée à 95 % du proctor modifié. Installer 1 po d isolant rigide entre la pierre concassée et la criblure de pierre. Finir et niveler correctement le dernier 50 mm avec de la criblure de pierre (ne pas compacter).

For uninsulated buildings: Excavate an area 300mm wider and longer than the building's exterior dimensions. Also, depth of excavation must be 150mm greater than the expected below-grade level of the building. Cover bottom of excavation with a 100-mm layer of 0-19mm crushed stone, compacted to 95% modified proctor density. Add the top 50-mm layer of screening, levelling properly (do not compact). For insulated buildings: Excavate an area 300mm wider and longer than the building's exterior dimensions. Also, depth of excavation must be 175mm greater than the expected below-grade level of the building. Cover bottom of excavation with a geomembrane. Add a 100-mm layer of 0-19mm crushed stone, compacted to 95% modified proctor density. Before adding screening, lay 1-in. rigid insulation over crushed stone. Add the top 50-mm layer of screening, levelling properly (do not compact).
