Comprehensive Project Management Course CENG 221D1/D2 Course Description: This course addresses the fundamental principles of project management, and the tools and techniques at our disposal to help achieve our goals. These principles, largely developed and tested on engineering projects, are being successfully applied to projects of all sizes and types within the business world. Duration: 26 sessions. Offered one evening per week from 6-9 pm. PMI Professional Development Units (PDUs): 160; Continuing Education Units (CEUs) : 16 Price: $1275.00 Outline: Topics covered include: Project definition and start up Planning, scheduling and estimating Approval process, including testing for alternatives Project information and control systems Resource selection and allocation, implementation Post-project evaluation Project management as a career Course Lecturers: Skills and knowledge required by professionals, including decision-making and resource allocation appropriate to project phases Integration with other disciplines, including accounting and finance Includes basic training in the use of Microsoft Project software for planning and tracking your projects Lloyd Bartlett, P. Eng., MBA, PMP Mr. Bartlett is a practitioner and trainer in project management, a trained engineer and designated Professional Project Manager (PMP). He has over 20 years experience in successfully managing projects varying from multi-million dollar construction contracts to several thousand dollar (and several week) initiatives. Christian Champenois, PMP Christian Champenois is a senior project manager with a PMP certification (2001). He has over twelve years of experience in project and team management in a matrix environment including six years at IBM Global Services in strategic outsourcing. Dulce Oliveira, CBAP Dulce Oliveira's 20-year career in IT has spanned project management, quality assurance and business analysis. Ms Oliveira has led project teams focused primarily on IT, including the successful delivery of projects in the year 2000 portfolio. She is one of the founding members of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), a not for profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the Business Analysis profession. Robert (Bob) Abbott, MCPM Bob is an experienced enterprise Senior Project Manager with over 30 years of Information and Technology experience within the telecommunications industry. He has designed and delivered various types of corporate training to more than 2500 managers on enterprise project tools, processes and techniques. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFMATION BILL 65: The Act Respecting Access to Information Held by Public Bodies and the Protection of Personal Information. Personal information is protected by legislation in the Province of Quebec. The provisions of this statute are such that discussion about a student s application file, or access to that file, is restricted to the applicant involved. Other persons or organizations can have access to information pertaining to a student s application only if the student has provided the Centre for Continuing Education with written authorization which specifies both to whom information can be given and the type of information which can be released.
