United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women CEDAW/SP/2012/2/Add.1 Distr.: General 12 May 2012 Original: English/French ADVANCE UNEDITED VERSION Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women Seventeenth meeting New York, 26 June 2012 Item 5 of the provisional agenda* Election of 11 members of the Committee, to replace those members whose terms are due to expire on 31 December 2012, in accordance with article 17, paragraphs 4 and 5, of the Convention Note by the Secretary-General Addendum 1. In accordance with article 17, paragraph 4, of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Secretary-General invited the States parties to the Convention to submit their nominations by 9 March 2010 for the election of 11 members of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. Information on 20 persons nominated is contained in CEDAW/SP/2012/2. Seven additional nominations have been received, as follows: Lawrence William Musonda (Zambia), Muna AbuSulayman (Saudi Arabia), Fatou Kiné Camara (Senegal), Sarah Al Sharji (Oman), Virginie Sheryl Nicole N Dessabeka (Congo), Mabruka Sheriff Jabril Maidani (Libya), Ms. Sawsan Al-Barrak. 2. The curricula vitae of the above-mentioned candidates, as furnished by their Governments, are attached (see annex). 3. In a note dated 10 April 2012, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Botswana to the United Nations informed the Secretariat of the decision of its Government to withdraw the nomination of Unity Dow as a candidate for election to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. 4. In a note dated 27 April 2012, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Zambia to the United Nations informed the Secretariat of the decision of its Government to withdraw the nomination of Mr. Lawrence William Musonda as a candidate for election to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women. * CEDAW/SP/2012/1.

Membre, depuis 2009, du Conseil de la Fédération Internationale des Femmes des Carrières juridiques ayant en charge la commission santé. Première Secrétaire du Forum des Femmes des Grands Lacs Section Congo, depuis 2011. Ce Forum est un organe de la Conférence Internationale des Pays de la Région des Grands Lacs et il a pour principale mission de plaider et d effectuer du lobbying pour les questions spécifiques relatives aux femmes dans le Pacte de la Conférence et d autres instruments régionaux et internationaux relatifs aux droits des femmes.
