If modifications to the structure are done during the construction it is important to have a professional on site to make sure the work is done correctly and according to constructions norms. We recommend to use Deco Drain liquid membrane so insure waterproofing of the shower. Garantie / Warranty Le bassin Deco Drain est garanti pour une durée de 5 ans contre les fuites. Si des modifications son apportées au drain au niveau de sa forme et/ou apparence d origine aucune garantie n est applicable. La grille de finition est un accessoire d esthétique et n est pas garantie. The Deco Drain basin has a 5 year warranty against leaking. If ever the shape and/or appearance of the basin is modified from it s original version, the warranty will not apply. The finishing grid is only a design accessory and is not covered by the guaranty. Structure en pente avec lit de mortier / Slope structure with sandcoat. La pente se fait également avec un lit de mortier. La pente se calcul de la même façon que pour un plancher de bois. The slope can also be done with a sandcoat. The sandcoat slope is done the same way as the wooden slope. Plancher chauffant sur lit de mortier ou contreplaqué/ Floor heating system on sandcoat or plywood. S il y a un plancher chauffant dans la douche, s assurer d un dégagement entre la bande de support avant du drain, le fil chauffant et l épaisseur de ciment ou ciment colle qui recouvrira le fil chauffant. Structure de départ selon le type de douche Starting structure according to shower type Douche sans seuil - construction neuve Shower without sill - new construction Faire la structure du plancher de la douche plus basse que celle de la pièce ( min. 2'' ). Build the shower floor structure lower than the floor structure of the room ( min. 2'' ). Installer le contreplaqué sur la structure du plancher de la salle de bain, de la douche et faire le(s) mur(s) nécessaire(s). Install a plywood on the bathroom floor and shower and build the wall(s) around the shower. Si cela correspond à votre type de douche, référez-vous à la page 12 pour les étapes suivantes. Douche sans seuil - rénovation Shower without sill - renovation Choisir l emplacement de la douche. Faire l ouverture nécessaire pour installer le bassin. Choose the shower location. Do the hole so the drain can be installed. Couper les solives de plancher un peu plus bas que le minimum afin de pouvoir installer le bassin à la hauteur nécessaire. Cela permettra de réaliser l étape suivante plus facilement. Cut the joists a bit more than the minium required to install the basin at the necessary height. Doing that will make the next step easier. Renforcir les solives de plancher selon les besoins. Les renforts utilisés formeront également la pente du plancher de douche. Reinforce the joists according to what is needed. Those reinforcements will also be used to create the slope for the shower floor. Page 9 de 32 p.9
Insérer les supports à contreplaqué afin de solidifier la structure et permettre que les joints de contreplaqué soit supportés. Install plywood supports to solidify the structure and allow the joints in the plywood to be supported. Installer le contreplaqué sur le plancher de la salle de bain afin de fermer le tout jusqu au plancher de la douche. Install the plywood to close the bathroom floor up to the shower floor. Installer le contreplaqué sur la structure du plancher de la salle de bain, de la douche et faire le(s) mur(s) nécessaire(s). Install a plywood on the bathroom floor and shower and build the wall(s) around the shower. Si cela correspond à votre type de douche, référez-vous à la page 12 pour les étapes suivantes. Douche avec seuil Shower with sill Choisir l emplacement de la douche Faire le seuil. Faire l ouverture nécessaire pour installer le bassin. Choose the shower location. Do the sill. Do the hole on which the basin will be installed. Si cela correspond à votre type de douche, référez-vous à la page 12 pour les étapes suivantes. If this represent your shower type, go the page 12 for next steps. - Dans le cas d'une douche sans seuil lors d'une rénovation, la pente sera fait en même temps que la modification faite à la structure. -Toutefois, pour les deux autres types de douches, la structure de la pente peut se faire par après. - Les étapes suivantes sont les mêmes pour tous les types d'installation. - Only the shower without sill during a renovation will require to build the slope during the modification to the structure. - On the other hand, the slope fot the other two types of shower can be done later. - The following steps are the same regardless of the shower type. Installer les supports en contreplaqué 3/8 afin de fixer le bassin. Important de vérifier que les supports soient à niveau. Install 3/8 plywood supports to fix the bassin. It is important to make sure that the basins are well leveled. Fixer le bassin, préalablement percé sur les contours, aux supports de contreplaqué. Connecter le drain à l aide d un adaptateur femelle fileté 2 au système d égout. Important de vérifier que le drain est à niveau. Fix the bassin, drilled beforehand on the edges, to the plywood supports. Connect the drain with a 2 female adaptor with thread to the plumbing system. It is important to verify the level of the drain. Installer les panneaux de béton léger ou autres produits adéquat sur les murs de la douche et le seuil. Install light cement boards or other appropriate product on the shower walls and the sill. Page 12 de 32 p.12
Les panneaux muraux ( et ceux du seuil si nécessaire ) doivent être égal avec l'intérieur du bassin. The wall pannels ( and those of the sill if necessary ) must be flush to the interior of the basin. Faire la structure en pente pour le plancher de douche, elle peut être fait avec des pièces de bois coupées en angle ou avec un lit de mortier. Build the slope structure for the shower floor, it can be done with pieces of woods cut in angle or a sandcoat. Installer les contreplaqués nécessaires. Install the necessary plywood. Nettoyer toute les surfaces et appliquer un treillis en fibre de verre pour couvrir le joint entre le bassin et les murs. Nous recomandons également de couvrir les coins de murs et le plancher au besoin. Clean all surfaces and apply a mesh over the joint between the basin and walls. We also recommend to cover corners and floor if necessary. Appliquer la membrane liquide Deco Drain ''DDM'' sur les murs, plancher et le seuil si applicable. Suivre les instructions inscrites sur le contenant. Apply Deco Drain liquid membrane "DDM" on the walls, floor and sill if it apply. Follow the instructions on the container. La membrane d étanchéité du plancher doit couvrir la bande de support avant du drain. The waterproof membrane installed on the floor must cover the drain s supporting edge. Page 14 de 32 p.14
La membrane d étanchéité sur les murs doit être au même niveau que la bande de support avant du drain. The water proof membrane covering the walls has to be at the same level as the front support band of the drain. Poser les tuiles du plancher. Lay tiles on the floor. Utiliser la grille de finition pour assurer une installation parallèle des tuiles avec la grille. Nous suggérons un espacement de 1/8 entre les tuiles du mur et la grille. Use the finishing grid to install the tiles parallel to the grid. We suggest a space of 1/8 between the tiles on the wall and the grid. Poser les tuiles sur les murs. Ne pas installer la tuile jusqu au fond du bassin. Nous suggérons d installer les tuiles à 1 du fond du bassin, nous conseillons d'utiliser une pièce de bois qui servira aussi de support aux tuiles. Lay the tiles on the walls. Do not lay the tiles as far as the bottom of the drain. We suggest to lay the tiles at 1 from the bottom of the basin, we propose tu use a piece of wood that will also serve as support for the tiles. Page 15 de 32 p.15
Utiliser la grille de finition pour assurer un dégagement pour pouvoir retirer la grille lors du nettoyage. Nous suggérons un espacement de 1/8. Utiliser aussi la grille lors de l installation de la tuile pour vous assurer que les tuiles murales sont parallèles avec celle-ci. Use the finishing grid to assure a space between the grid and the tiles to make to leave a space between the grid and the tiles so it is possible to take out the grid for cleaning.
