HARM REDUCTION=NURSING CARE Nurses, regardless of where they work, use harm reduction approaches. These approaches recognize the need for risk reduction, health and safety promotion, and prevention of death and disability. They are based on principles intended to treat all individuals with respect, with dignity and in a non-judgmental manner, regardless of their health conditions, their behaviours, and their practices.
