Topics will change according to instructor and semester. May be repeated for credit when the topic varies. Taught to individual students or to small groups with the consent of the professor and with the approval of the Program s Advisor or Department Chair. Learning Outcomes: (Describe the measurable learning outcomes for the course.) As a result of completing this course, students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of critical tools and strategies to analyze elements of a literary or filmic work and relate those elements to an overall understanding of the work and its cultural/historical context. 2. Demonstrate research skills, including relevant databases, correct documentation methods, and varied critical approaches to literary, film, and narrative studies. 3. Use French to think, speak and write about narrative texts effectively through the use of components such as structure, mechanics, organization, style, inference, conclusion, and accuracy of the French language.
