KIT 5244 9 decal placement 19, (20 on Starboard side) 85524410200 Spirit of St. Louis The Spirit of St. Louis, one of the most famous airplanes of all times, was designed and built for one specific purpose: To carry its lone occupant cross the Atlantic ocean, carrying enough fuel to span the distance between New York and Paris without refueling. It would not be the first transatlantic crossing; the Navy's Curtiss NC-4 flying boat flew from Newfoundland to Portugal in 1919, by landing in the ocean and refueling twice before completing the trip. Others had successfully made the journey in large planes or dirigibles, but a lone pilot never did it. With only one pilot and a small airplane, the Spirit had a range of 4,210 miles. 600 miles more than the required distance for the journey. Rinse and let air dry. * Check the fit of each piece before cementing in place. * Use only cement for polystyrene plastic. * Scrape plating and paint from areas to be cemented. * Allow paint to dry thoroughly before handling parts. * Any unused parts may be discarded. Wait until decal is movable on paper backing. Place decal in position on model, face up and slide backing away. Press out air bubbles with a soft damp cloth. Milkiness that may appear is for better decal adhesion and will dry clear. Wipe away any excess adhesive. Do not touch decal until fully dry. Allow the decals 48 hours to dry before applying clear coat. Appuyer avec un chiffon doux humide pour éliminer les bulles d'air. La substance laiteuse qui peut apparaître est destinée à améliorer l'adhésion de l'autocollant et devient incolore au séchage. Essuyer pour enlever tout excédent d'adhésif. Ne pas toucher l'autocollant tant qu'il n'est pas bien sec. Laisser l'autocollant sécher pendant 48 heures avant d'appliquer une couche transparente.
