29 What is an ebr? 29 ebr is the GPS of the manufacturing operations. It is supposed to drive the user to the pre-defined destination, with the shortest and safest trip, alert on issues and dangers, give feed back on speed / remaining time before arrival ebr is anything except a paper on glass, a new database, a new software,

30 EBR system purposes 30 To manage the batch record information electronically (primary function) To force the accurate maintenance of Master Data objects (recipe data) To enable a tight control of the production process & the generation of alarms To enforce GMP compliance (task dependencies, lot traceability, proper batch documentation) To increase productivity by elimination of manual data entry tasks, second signatures, automated calculation and review activities To enable batch review by exception and the automated generation of deviation reports (this reduces quarantine time of the finished product by reducing the cycle time associated with batch release) To provide a central repository of critical parameters related to a batch: information visibility, correlation analysis, yearly product reviews To enable the integration of disparate systems (LIMS, ERP, Automation) into a coherent information management system
