If a number is used without a noun, en (of them) appears before the verb. J aime ces chemises. Je vais en acheter deux. 3. In the present tense, en comes directly before the verb. In the passé composé, en comes directly before avoir. If there are two verbs, en is found directly in front of the infinitive. There is liason/elision with en. Adverbial Pronoun: Y Means to it or is used to replace a place, city, or country. Il habite en France. Il y habite. Elle étudie dans la salon. Elle y étudie. Il répond à la question. Il y répond. Il n y répond pas. Il va y répond. Il ne va pas y répondre

6 Relative Pronouns : QUI, QUE, QU Means «who, which, what» 1. Qui is placed before a verb of D.O. La jeune fille qui m aime est ici! 2. Que is placed before a noun or pronoun. La jeune fille que j aime est ici! OTHER NOTES Mots-liens: Transition words To join your ideas smoothly in French, certain words or expressions are used. Donnez-lui l appareil. Hyphens connect the pronoun objects and the verb. Donnez-le-lui. The emphatic form moi (not the form me) is found after affirmative commands. Donnez-le-moi. If there are two pronoun objects after a command the order is: VERB (hyphen) DIRECT OBJECT (hyphen) INDIRECT OBJECT Donnez-le-moi.
