L hévéa Communément appelé «arbre à caoutchouc», l hévéa provient de l Asie du Sud-Est, là où actuellement se récolte 93 % de tout le caoutchouc naturel. D une hauteur d environ 4 à 5 mètres et d un diamètre d une cinquantaine de centimetres, l hévéa produit du latex jusqu à l âge de 26 à 30 ans. Par la suite, l arbre est récupéré pour ainsi permettre à un nouvel arbre de voir le jour. L hévéa est alors utilisé pour la confection de meubles, ce qui en fait un bois écologique. D une grande durabilité et d un grain dense, l hévéa est un bois très stable. Nos produits faits en hévéa sont uniquement constitués de bois massif, séché dans un séchoir à bois avant l assemblage. Les meubles finis sont vernis, ce qui en facilite l entretien, qui se fait avec un linge humide tout simplement. Hevea Commonly called rubberwood, we find this tree mostly in Malaysia and Thailand where 93% of all natural rubber is produced. This tree grows to about 4-5 meters high with a diameter of 50 cm. It produces rubber for years. After it s rubber production time is finished, the tree is cut down and a new one is planted, making it the most ecological wood. Rubberwood is very durable and stable because of it s high density. Our rubberwood furniture is produced strictly from kiln-dried rubberwood. All our furniture is 100% hardwood with no veneers of any kind. Caring for this kind of wood is done with a humid cloth. Marika.indd 2
