La République du Gabon, sous l impulsion de l Agence Gabonaise d Etudes et d Observation Spatiale (AGEOS) soutenue par le Fonds Gabonais d Investissements Stratégiques (FGIS), a décidé de mettre en œuvre une plate-forme de surveillance maritime s appuyant sur l antenne de réception directe de l AGEOS. Pour cela, le Gabon a choisi de s appuyer sur l expérience de Telespazio et de contribuer au déploiement du réseau mondial de géo information EarthLab en créant EarthLab Gabon. Ce centre de recherche et de surveillance opérationnel s inscrit dans le cadre de la politique spatiale du Gabon et des enjeux majeurs que représentent le Gabon Vert, le Gabon Bleu et le Gabon des Services (*). Notre pays a une véritable volonté de servir l environnement, l économie et la société africaine. Avec EarthLab Gabon, notre pays devient le cœur africain de ce réseau mondial de géo information et couvre un cercle de réception de 5 500 km, englobant 23 pays africains, la totalité des forêts du bassin du Congo, une partie des forêts de l Afrique de l ouest et la totalité du Golfe de Guinée. C est avec enthousiasme et l ambition forte de construire notre avenir que je souhaite le plus grand succès à ce grand programme. To achieve this goal, Gabon has chosen to team up with Telespazio and to contribute to the deployment of the worldwide geo-information network EarthLab with the creation of EarthLab Gabon. This operational monitoring and research center is part of the Gabon space policy and an asset for the Green and Blue Gabon, as well as the Services Gabon (*). Our country is genuinely committed to fostering environmental, economic and social practices in Africa. With EarthLab Gabon, our country becomes the African heart of this global geo-information network spanning a reception area of 5 500 km, covering 23 African countries, the complete Congo Basin forests, part of the forests of West Africa, and the entire Gulf of Guinea. Suivi des forêts Avec 88% de forêt, le Gabon doit se doter d outils technologiques pour surveiller sa forêt et, ainsi, affirmer son engagement international dans la lutte contre les changements climatiques. À la disposition des exploitants agricoles et des forestiers, ce service précis, fiable et sécurisé consiste principalement à cartographier les pistes et les zones d exploitation forestière en s appuyant sur l imagerie satellitaire, couplée à des images aériennes et des données au sol. Monitoring of Forest With 88% of its territory covered with forest, Gabon must develop technological tools to monitor the forest and thus affirm its international commitment in the fight against climate change. Affectation des Terres Depuis 2 ans, le Gabon développe un plan national d affectation des terres permettant de planifier l utilisation des terres et d en permettre l optimisation. Ce service est destiné aux autorités publiques (administration des Eaux et Forêts, ministère de l Agriculture) et aux acteurs privés ayant besoin d un outil d aide à la décision sur mesure et performant pour en assurer le suivi. Land use For 2 years, Gabon has been developing a national land use plan for the planning and the optimization of land use. This service is designed for the Public Authorities (Water and Forestry Administration, Ministry of Agriculture) and private organizations requiring customized and high performance decision-making tools for a more effective tracking of land use. terre EARTH SURVEILLANCE DES FORÊTS FORESTRY MONITORING
SURVEILLANCE MARITIME MARITIME SURVEILLANCE DES FORÊTS océan OCEAN prévention DES POLLUTIONS EN MER En tant que pays producteur de pétrole, le Gabon se lance aujourd hui dans l offshore profond qui appelle des technologies nouvelles. L objectif est de surveiller les zones d exploitation offshore, et l évolution d éventuelles nappes d hydrocarbures, en temps quasi réel. Le service s appuie sur les images satellitaires, couplées aux données météoocéaniques et aux données de géolocalisation des bateaux. Monitoring pollution at sea As oil producer, Gabon is strengthening its position today in the deep offshore calling for new technologies. The purpose is to monitor the offshore exploitation zones and the evolution of possible oil slicks in near real time combining satellite imagery with oceanicmeteorological data and geo-location data from ships. Surveillance du trafic maritime Avec une forte dépendance à l import avec les denrées alimentaires, et à l export avec les matières premières notamment, le Gabon doit sécuriser et surveiller son espace maritime. Ce service consiste à détecter puis identifier les embarcations qui naviguent dans les eaux territoriales gabonaises, en utilisant de façon complémentaire l imagerie satellitaire, les données de géolocalisation et les informations météo-océaniques disponibles. MONITORING MARITIME TRAFFIC With significant maritime activities driven by food imports and strong natural resources exports, Gabon intends to secure its maritime domain. This service consists in detecting and identifying ships navigating in Gabon territorial waters, using satellite imagery and available geo-location and oceanic-meteorological data.
Le cœur africain du 1 er réseau mondial de géoinformation Telespazio France, filiale du Groupe Telespazio, acteur historique et mondial des applications spatiales, est à l origine du 1 er réseau international de géoinformation EarthLab. «Think global, act local» : telle est la philosophie de cette initiative unique dans le domaine de l observation de la terre par satellite et des services qui y sont associés. Aux côtés de l AGEOS et grâce à l appui du FGIS, EarthLab Gabon s inscrit dans ce contexte, avec pour vocation d offrir des services dédiés à la forêt, à l occupation des sols, aux grands enjeux de l océan et, plus particulièrement, du golfe de Guinée. Situé dans la zone économique spéciale de Nkok, à 27 km de Libreville, ce centre de recherche et de services opérationnels s appuyant sur la télédétection spatiale vient renforcer les atouts d AGEOS créée notamment pour servir au mieux l étude et la protection environnementales.
