DEVELOPPEMENT AUDIOVISUEL introduites. Des travaux sont en cours pour transformer le terrain qui jouxte le bâtiment en un grand espace vert où des plantes endémiques ont été mises en terre, après le défrichement. La station de la MBC à Rodrigues connaît cette année une véritable transformation destinée à accentuer sa visibilité et parfaire la qualité du service dans l île, en pleine mutation. Une série de changements a été mis en œuvre ces derniers mois à plusieurs niveaux : infrastructures, ressources humaines, technologie et programmation. Les efforts tous azimuts de cette volonté de la direction de la MBC se poursuivront pour accélérer la réalisation d un triple objectif : favoriser la modernisation de la station, renforcer le personnel et rehausser les compétences, et étoffer et revaloriser le contenu des émissions radiophoniques aussi bien que télévisuelles. Tout ceci correspond à la mission fondamentale du service public pour mieux répondre aux goûts variés et attentes multiples de la population. Un exercice de recrutement massif a abouti à l embauche d une douzaine de nouveaux employés : chauffeurs, électriciens, techniciens et journalistes. En même temps, la MBC a procédé à une redistribution de responsabilités avec notamment la désignation de nouveaux cameramen et monteurs. Un programme de formation a également été mis en place pour encadrer et accompagner les nouvelles recrues mais aussi pour le renforcement des capacités des anciens. Le processus de changement couvre aussi les domaines technique et technologique avec le renouvèlement des équipements et l acquisition de nouveaux outils. Les réseaux informatiques ont été consolidés, des ordinateurs portables remis aux journalistes, de nouvelles caméras ont été acquises. L évolution la plus remarquable est sans doute l installation d un banc de montage vidéo numérique. Ce qui permet depuis quelque temps de monter sur place tous les jours des sujets de reportage pour le Journal Télévisé et les programmes de sports. Ces vidéos sont ensuite envoyées à Moka par satellite. Les deux derniers numéros de Rodrig Sa, émission bimensuelle ont également été entièrement tournées, montées, titrées et post-produites à Rodrigues. Le premier changement a touché l infrastructure physique les locaux qui abritent la majorité des services (diffusion et transmission de la radio, rédaction, administration et une nouvelle unité de réalisation de programmes télé) à Citronnelle ont été rénovés. Le bâtiment a été repeint, le mobilier remplacé, de nouveaux équipements ont été installés et de nouvelles facilités 02
DEVELOPPEMENT AUDIOVISUEL REFLE nouzil Les changements permettent à la MBC d accroitre la gamme de ses émissions. Ainsi une nouvelle série d émissions Refle Nou Zil sera lancée, axées sur la vie de tous les jours et le vécu des gens à Rodrigues, les aspirations des rodriguais. Un regard panoramique sur les différentes facettes de la société et l avancement socio-économique de l ile. Les thèmes qui seront abordés sont les jeunes, la femme, la culture, les PME, l éducation, la formation, le sport, et le développement des La MBC ne compte pas s arrêter en si bon infrastructures. Refle Nou Zil tourné, monté et réalisé à Rodrigues passera chaque lundi, mercredi et vendredi à 19 heures sur MBC Rodrigues Digital 1. Mauritius Tujhe Salaam- Independence Treat with the Best FM Rjs and Artists Proud to be Mauritian and celebrating 44 years of independence in a 2 hour show filled with the different facets of what drove our island where it is now, with of course the Best Fm touch. Mauritius Tujhe salaam, was au rendez vous and highlighted of being an independent country and what makes our beautiful island. The culture and tradition of Mauritius was brought forward as well, like the festival of light Divali brought to life by Rasika Dance academy, an amazing performance by Chinese Cultural Centre to show the Chinese spring festival, a Christmas carol by La Chorale des ados and the joy of Eid celebration by the Best FM Rjs. Valentine s Special- Love Dil Se Best Fm thanks its fans across Mauritius and all around the world for all the love bestowed upon them. Valentine s Day was the perfect day for our Best Fm Rj s to give back a clin d oeil to the ones they love, from family to friends in Rush Hour Valentine s Special with Chandni on the 14th February where the Best Fm Rjs showcased their multiple talents. Music Day Best Fm being the number one music channel in Mauritius had to do justice to music on Music day. With a mélange of Bollywood and Bhojpuri songs, Best FM paid tribute to legendary actor Raj Kapoor- Sangam uniting Music. The Domaine du Moulin at Goodlands on Friday 22nd June was a place of sheer fun and entertainment. The opening of the concert was captivating and audiences were spell bound by the defile of RJ s in a mind blowing performance depicting the Raj Kapoor era from shri 420 to Mera Naam Joker. There was a selection of the finest local artists -from the Bhojpuri boys, Kishore Khimiah, Lightning stars dance group, Kunal Baboolall, Sarika Ramkelawon, Bobby and many more. The show was telecast live on MBC TV3 and on Best Fm and reports showed there were over 8,000 people present at Good lands. Rose Belle The second part of Sangam Uniting Music was held at Rose Belle with the participation of new local talents and Best FM RJ s. Again the response was flabbergasted with a crowd of over 10,000 thousand people despite the rainy climate. Sangam Uniting Music at Rose Belle remains one of the best outdoor concert of Best FM. 04
BEST FM NORTH SOUTH CENTRE 103.5 MHz 96.4 MHz 99.4 MHz Sports and Music Best Fm prone itself to be top notch in the sports Segment with its dedicated team roaming around Mauritius with its updates, gifts and games. Just like for the FA cup final opposing Chelsea to Liverpool in Amaury where the Best Fm received a royal welcome. Best Fm sports team once again rocked the green of MGI for the second edition of the Best Fm Cricket fiesta on the 6th June 2012. For this time around, the event got bigger, bolder and wider with the participation of more students. The lucky winners got their rewards medals and trophies from the hands of the Director General of the MBC, Mr Dan Callikan.The Best fm team ever ready to hit the wicket, get prepared for our third edition. Kamla Mohadeb - Freelance of Radio Mauritius With her wide knowledge of old Indian songs and always enthusiastic with her audiences, Kamla Mohadeb had lived one of the most fearful moment of her life during her croisière à bord Costa few months back. In her own words- she explained how difficult and dreadful it was the few nights that followed the incident. The sleepless nights under the stars, had malgré tout, given another definition of life and friendship to her. She would like to thank all MBC staff who prayed for her and supported her. Radio Oriental Happenings The section pride itself to have 5 freelancers who received Honors from the government of Mauritius. And they were all given a treat and celebrated the event with radio oriental staff Following persons were honoured: 1.Kadrivel Sornam 2.Pushpaji Narroo 3.Adhinarain Utchamah 4.Swabir Goodur And to recall Abdus Salaam Ahmadi received the same honors in 2006. 05
MUSIC FM "LE VISAGE DERRIÈRE LE MICRO" LA MISIK C'A LI MYSTIK La premiere sortie de la MBC RADIO pour cette année 2012 est "FAYA DAN ZIL". Un évènement musical local où l'occasion est a donnée à la plupart de nos animateurs des trois chaînes radios d'être sur scene afin d'être plus proches des auditeurs. Cette soirée qui a débuté à 18h, est une collaboration de la MBC RADIO et la municipalite de Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill. Dans cette ambiance festive le public, venu en grand nombre, a pu apprécier leurs jeunes artistes notamment Lionklash, Boyzini, Manasse, Small axe entre autres. C'a bougeait dans tous les sens sur la pelouse du Plaza au rthyme des tubes des artistes. LA MISIK C'A LI MYSTIK La MBC RADIO et La MUNICIPALITÉ DE PORT- qu Alain Ramanisum et le Groupe Ravanna, LOUIS, ont célébre le 21 Juin, la fête de la Zulu, les artistes de STAR 2011 categorie sega, musique avec pour thème la philosophie entre autres. L 'ambiance et le rythme étaient rasta. Les citadins aussi bien que les habitants présents lors de ce rassemblement pendant des régions avoisinantes ont apprecié pendant deux heures des artistes de renom tels MUSIC lequel était célébré le premier anniversaire de FM. FAIRE DE SON MÉTIER UNE PASSION De nos deux rendez-vous musicaux, la MBC RADIO est de plus en plus sollicité par le monde de l évènementiel et du marketing. Les 26 et 27 juillet dernier, LA MBC RADIO était presente au SALON DE LA COM au Centre International Swami Vivekananda à Pailles. Étant partenaire de média, la MBC était la seule radio a être très présente pour mieux faire comprendre aux auditeurs le monde de la communication, de l'image, du son et de l'évènement. Nous donnons rendez-vous à tous en Septembre du 13 au 16 pour une nouvelle édition du SALON INFOTECH. 06
MBC PRODUCTION AQEEDAT KE PHOOL C était un nouveau challenge. Un de plus pour la Production... La competition Aqeedat ke Phool organisée par la MBC en collaboration avec la Urdu Speaking Union. Avec une innovation, l inclusion des filles de 5 à 10 ans dans ce concours de recitation de Naat. Car dans un court délai, il fallait inviter les candidatures, convoquer près de de 300 enfants et adolescents pour les auditions et selectionner les 10 meilleures filles et 10 meilleurs garcons. Et la, chapeau a l équipe qui ne s est épargnée aucune peine pour veiller a bien accuellir et mettre ces enfants à l aise, en l occurrence Nita, Rooman, Jeelany, Rajendra et Ismet. Sans oublier le dévouement des équipes de Gawtam et de Kishore. Car des compatriotes peuvent ne pas comprendre la langue ourdoue, mais comment rester insensible a cet acte de foi de ces petites filles et petits garçons, leur ferveur et l émotion spirituelle qu ils ont dégagé ont littéralement conquis plus d un. Que dire aussi des talents artistiques et oratoires démontres par le jeune Naatkhaan pakistanais Saqlain lors de sa récitation de Naat à la finale au IGCIC. Et comme dans tout grand évènement il fallait un brin d audace il est venu des invitées à la finale. les dames ont insisté pour assister à l évènement dans l auditorium au lieu de la salle réservée à cet effet. Au bout du compte, avec le soutien actif de la direction ce fut un grand moment de télévision qu on a vécu au IGCIC et partagé en direct à la télé, comme en témoignent les marques de vives appréciations exprimées au President Mr. Claude Narain et au Directeur Général, Mr. Dan Callikan à la fin même d une finale qui a tenu ses promesses. Et comme un challenge ne vient jamais seul. Le 2 ème est déjà en route. Vous l avez constaté c est la grande aventure Star 2012. Déjà les auditions des orchestres ont débuté, une certaine excitation était déjà palpable avec les aspirations des musiciens d être eux aussi acteurs dans à cette nouvelle edition. Et les commentaires et demandes de renseignements des candidats commencent à se faire de plus en plus en pressants... Pour être une star dans au moins une de ces catégories: bhojpuri, chinois, ghazal, hindoustani, mandarin, marathi, occidentale, séga, tamoul, telugu, et enfants (moins de 15 ans). On s attend à être une fois de plus à la hauteur pour offrir un divertissement de haute facture... 07
INHOUSE TRAINING A brainstorming session for the Best FM Radio team was held on the 1st July 2012, under the leadership of Mrs Chandni Dwarka Ramjutun, Coordinator Radio Services (Radio Oriental). Radio Djs, Producers and Presenters attended this session. INHOUSE TRAINING COURSES FOR MBC STAFF A course in Video Editing for Sports Editors was conducted by Mr Sudheer Peerthum, Video Editors / Senior Video Editor, from 13 March 2012 to 02 April 2012. This course was Mrs Marie Michelle Etiene is currently training the Radio staff as from 18 June 2012. The training will last for 3 months and the course is on Technique du savoir parler pour Animateur meant to train the Editors to edit their items themselves. A course on Electrical Network at MBC Headquarters was conducted for Central A Video Training for News Editors on EDIUS was organised from 23 April 2012 to 01 June 2012. All the editors from the News Dept attended the course which was mainly Equipment room staff from 07 to 11 May 2012 by Mr Seewanan Judoo, Assistant Engineer (Electrical). The same course was imparted to Master Control Room TV staff on 04 to 06 June 2012. focused on how to edit News items directly from their own laptops and how the items Mrs Ameena Toofany & Mr Ravi Narendra, could be sent to Broadcast House via Inter- from the State Informatics Ltd conducted a net. The trainer was Mr Sudheer Peerthum, course on Implementation of Enterprise Video Editor / Senior Video Editor. Resource Planning to the Finance & Purchas- The Radio News Editors followed a training on Audio Mixer Allen & Health Model XB 14 ing staff of MBC. The course was held from 13 to 18 July 2012. on 17 & 18 May 2012. The trainer was Mr Enrico Moutou, Senior Broadcast Officer. Recently, a vision Mixer DVS 900, has been installed in the Studio A. Mr Gawtam Peerthy, Two lighting Engineers from China, namely Mr Liang Shangwen and Mr Li Zhenyan were in the MBC studio. They were here, mainly to explain to our lightning technicians and electricians the complete function of the lightning consoles RGB 200 and RGB 03 which are being used in Studio C and Studio A. The duration of the course was from 28 May 2012 to 07 June 2012. Senior Broadcast Officer, has conducted a course to that effect on 26 & 27 July 2012 to producers and technical producers to enable them to master the vision mixer properly. EVENTS Le syndicat de la MBC et le comité de bienêtre de la MBC avaient organisé une campagne de dépistage d ostéoporose pour tout le personnel de la MBC. L objectif : s assurer que le personnel travaille dans un environnement sain et sensibiliser les travailleurs sur l importance de rester en bonne santé tout en privilégiant l aspect preventif. L ostéoporose est une maladie occasionnée par une déficience en calcium et qui fragilise les os. La remède contre cette maladie est de consommer des aliments riches en calcium... La MBSSA et le comité de bien-être de la MBC continueront des campagnes de sensibilisation. La prochaine sera axée sur le dépistage des maladies cardio-vasculaires... Visiting the MBC studios is a regular activity of Senior Citizens Clubs, pre-primary and primary schools and other social clubs. In June and July MBC received 20 groups of around 60 persons each month and we are presently booked for 19 days in August and we are taking requests for September 2012! If you have requests for visits, consult the Customer Care Service to secure a date before any commitment. The personnel has been always cooperative in making these occasions memorable for our visitors who bring back home to share, their admiration and these moments. Thank you everybody. Keep it up!!! On the occasion of Marguerite (Mimi) Labat s centenary anniversary on 22nd July 2012, MBC telecast a programme that was recorded at her place on 19th July and with documents from the MBC archives and interventions from Messrs. Yacoob Bahemia, formerly General programme Organiser and Philippe Blin, Radio Programme Organiser, who have known her in the 1950 s... MBC will be doing more and more live radio programme outside our Moka Studios and thus ensure a regular presence among the listeners and the population. Improvements to Internal Catering Services As from August 2012, the MBC Canteen is managed by a new caterer chosen among some 20 tenderers. We expect a better and improved service to the employees. 09

SPORT OTHER ACTIVITIES The tournament for the various activities would start as soon as the six teams are establised and the venues identified. The finals of the MBC Table Tennis Tournament were held on 22nd June 2012. In the men s single Vikash Bhageerutty beat Sandesh Callychurn and in the men s double the pair Vikash Bhageerutty/ S.Ramkhelawon beat the pair Sandesh Callychrun/ S - Ramdharry to win the trophy. Vikash Bhageerutty staged a unique single and double performance to win both prizes.
