Clinical EOWPVT-4 Author: Nancy A. Martin, PhD & Rick Brownell, MA This classic assessment of expressive vocabulary can now be used with adults The Expressive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test, 4th Edition (EOWPVT-4) now features norms through geriatric ages (80+). The EOWPVT-4 is an individually administered, norm-referenced assessment of how well persons age 2 years 0 months to over 80 years can name (in English) the objects, actions or concepts presented in full-color pictures. The EOWPVT-4 features additional items for younger children, as well as items applicable to older adults. the concepts with which people currently have experience through home, school or media. The expanded norms allow use of the test with adults in various diagnostic, rehabilitation or therapeutic settings. The EOWPVT-4 has been co-normed with the ROWPVT-4 to provide a comprehensive assessment of expressive and receptive vocabulary. Expanded age norms; oldest norms group (80+) includes persons up to 103 years New images for youngest and oldest ages Updated word list Expressive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test - 4th Edition Updated developmental sequence of images More words added for youngest ages Readjusted starting points Ability to use test with young adults, older adults Whats still true about the test? Easy to use items are arranged in one continuous developmental sequence (no groupings to keep track of). Co-normed with ROWPVT-4 to give complete picture of naming vocabulary. Continues to focus on confrontation naming using mainly nouns - keeps interpretation clear and direct. Is appropriate to use with all ethnicities (all were included in the norming sample). Comparisons made for special populations: AD/HD, Autistic, LD, Reading Disability. Normative sample matches US Census demographics on region, metropolitan area, ethnicity, gender and education level. It can be used with persons who have experienced: stroke traumatic brain injury concussion neurodegenerative disease (Alzheimers, Parkinsons, etc.) and Scoring Color pictures are presented singly to the examinee, who is asked to name what is shown. The EOWPVT-4 retains the use of prompts and cues (shown on the Record Form) to ensure that examinees will attend to the relevant aspects of each illustration. Age-related starting points and ceilings (reached when the examinee makes a set number of consecutive errors) ensure that only a subset of items (the critical range) is administered. The EOWPVT-4 is untimed and can be administered in about 20 minutes. Scoring is easy, straightforward and generally taking less than 5 minutes. Raw scores are reported as standard scores, percentile ranks and (if necessary) age equivalents. MASC Clinical The MASC not only assesses the presence of anxiety disorders in youth, it also distinguishes between important anxiety symptoms and dimensions that broadband measures do not capture. This information allows for focused treatment and makes the MASC sensitive to changes in symptom type and level for monitoring progress. The MASC is used by psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors in schools, outpatient clinics, residential treatment centers, child protective services, and juvenile detention centers. How to Use the Assessment There are two components of the MASC: The MASC and the MASC-10. Both components are available as hands- separated into three age groups. MASC The full version of the MASC provides results for all of the scales, including the Inconsistency Index, to identify random or inconsistent responses. The long version is recommended for initial evaluations. MASC 10 The short version of the MASC, the MASC 10, is designed for repeat testing to track progress. It is a unidimensional measure with ten items that combine the basic anxiety scales from the long version to produce one score that indicates the severity of anxiety problems. Its brevity makes it ideal for use as a screening instrument or as part of a standard test battery. TVPS Author: Nancy Martin, PhD Clinique Now, just one test covers all of the ages that were previously covered by the two forms of the earlier test (TVPS-R and TVPS-UL-R). The TVPS-3 remains an easy to use assessment to determine the visual perceptual strengths and weaknesses of students ages 4-0 through 18-11. Visual perception is an important ability that enables one to make sense out of what is seen (in contrast to visual acuity tests which determine just that something was seen by the individual). The TVPS-3 utilizes black and white line drawings as stimuli for all of the perceptual tasks; the stimulus plates are bound in a convenient easel-style booklet. The items are still presented in a multiple-choice format, and responses can be made vocally (by saying the letter of the response choice) or by pointing to the answer choice. This format is ideal for use with students who may have impairments in motor, speech, hearing, neurological or cognitive functions. There are still 16 plates in each of the perceptual areas so that the length of the test remains the same as previous editions: Visual Discrimination Visual Memory Visual Spacial Relationships Form Constancy Visual Sequential Memory Figure-Ground Visual Closure basis for planning the appropriate remediation. The manual contains an updated review of literature pertaining to the importance of visual perceptual ability to the tasks a child faces in both school and home settings. Woodcock Johnson Both batteries are appropriate for ages 2 to 90+ and together they provide a comprehensive system for measuring Cognitive Abilities The original WJ III ACH is available in two forms, Form A and Form B -- Form B includes Canadian Pages to update selected tests for use in Canada (e.g., metric math, Canadian coins) and Form B is the most-widely-used form of WJ III ACH in this country. In a few cases (e.g., some hospital settings or research projects) both forms of WJ III ACH are in use -- Form A of the achievement tests is available only by special order, and has U.S. references in some of the test items.. Canadian Validation During initial development, all items were reviewed by Canadian professionals to ensure fairness. In particular, Form B of the WJ III Tests of Achievement was designed with metric items and utilizes Canadian spellings. As part of the WJ III test development process, a standardization-validation study was designed and undertaken to determine if unique Canadian norms were needed for the WJ III COG and WJ III ACH. This study involved 334 English-speaking school-aged children, in grades 1-13, selected from three geographical areas in Canada (Western Canada, Central Canada, and the Maritime Provinces). Communities were sampled by census region and type of community. Standardization-validation data were obtained from six provinces. Communities were targeted for selection based on the characteristics of geographic distribution, size of community, and SES characteristics (high, average, and low SES communities). Catholic schools were also included in the norming sample to further represent a cross section of the community. Thirty-four schools were included in the study. As a concurrent validity measure, the WISC-III was administered to 106 of the individuals included in the WJ III Construct Measure general intellectual ability Individual Time 2 to 90 years old 5 minutes per test for each battery Price Product Unit Qty/pkg Price $ CAN Woodcock Johnson 5012-23580 Achievement form B kit (no case) UNT 1 1261,00 5012-23610 Cognitive form A Kit (no case) UNT 1 1299,00 5012-23581 Achievemnt Kit A in a case UNT 1 1299,00 5012-23607 Cognitive record forms PKG 25 205,00 5012-23577 Achievement record forms PKG 25 205,00 Pour commander
