CONGRES ANNUEL ANNUAL CONGRESS... MOT DU PRÉSIDENT DE LA SFA SFA PRESIDENT LETTER Chers Amis, Chers Collègues, Dear Friends, Dear Colleagues, Cette année 2014 est placée sous le signe de l ouverture. En choisissant le Luxembourg capitale Européenne, le symbole est fort, nous sommes à la fois tournés vers les pays francophones limitrophes mais aussi vers nos collègues germaniques. Ce congrès tombe à point nommé pour nous faire franchir une nouvelle étape. Cette ouverture nous fera découvrir de nouveaux horizons et apportera très certainement à la SFA de nouveaux membres. Les Présidents de congrès, le Pr. Romain Seil et le Pr. Henning Madry, font partie de ces choix heureux. Leur dynamisme est contagieux, ils ont à cœur de faire de ce congrès au Luxembourg, un grand et bel événement. De surcroit cette année l AGA notre «belle voisine» est la société invitée. Merci à la cellule scientifique : François Sirveaux, Geoffroy Nourissat et au Vice-Président, Nicolas Graveleau pour ce beau congrès lui aussi plein de nouveautés! L ouverture commence dès le mercredi après midi avec la journée «SFA recherche» et se poursuivra le samedi matin avec «SFA mouvement» destinée aussi aux kinésithérapeutes. Les temps forts seront nombreux comme chaque année : la matinée des Présidents avec une session régionale très riche : le symposium sur la réparation méniscale avec François-Xavier Gunepin et Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet puis celui traitant de l instabilité acromio-claviculaire avec Johannes Barth et Fabrice Duparc. Nous aurons l honneur d accueillir le Pr. Mitsuo Ochi, un des pionniers de l arthroscopie au Japon et le Pr. Leesa Galatz des États Unis connue pour ses travaux sur l épaule. Le Pr. Elizabeth Arendt qui est de la famille SFA viendra également des USA pour une conférence magistrale sur le genou. Notons qu'une large place sera donnée à la traumatologie sportive avec Philippe Landreau et Hermann Mayr. Nous retrouverons notre session SFA pratique validant pour le DPC, nos sessions «relive surgery» sur la butée sous arthroscopique et une première sur la dissection du genou. Les autres conférences seront, comme chaque année, de grande qualité. Aucune articulation n a été négligée et, cette année, c est l articulation de la cheville qui est mise en avant. Nous remercions d ailleurs Thomas Bauer en charge de ce programme. 2014 is a year placed under the sign of Opening. Choosing Luxembourg, a European capital, is a strong symbol: we are turned both towards bordering French-speaking countries and also towards our Germanic colleagues. This congress is well timed and will allow us to move on to a new stage. With this Opening, we will discover new horizons and this will surely yield new members for SFA. The congress Presidents, Pr Romain Seil and Pr Henning Madry, are part of these happy choices. Their dynamism is contagious, they are committed to make this congress a big and beautiful event. Besides this year AGA, our beautiful neighbour, is the invited society. The Opening starts on Wednesday afternoon with the SFA research day and will continue on Saturday morning with the SFA movement dedicated to physiotherapists. There will be several highlights as each year: the Presidents morning with a very attractive local session: the symposium on meniscal repair with François-Xavier Gunepin and Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet and then the session dealing with acromio-clavicular instability with Johannes Barth and Fabrice Duparc. We are honoured to welcome Pr Mitsuo Ochi, one of the arthroscopy pioneers in Japan and also Pr Leesa Galatz from the United States who is known for her works on the shoulder. Pr. Elizabeth Arendt, a SFA family member, will also come from the USA for a lecture on the knee. Besides sports traumatology will have a big share of space with Philippe Landreau and Hermann Mayr. Again, the SFA practical session validating DPC (Développement Professionnel Continu - professional on-going development) will be held, as well as relive surgery sessions on arthroscopic coracoid bone block transfer and a premiere on knee dissection. The other lectures will be of high quality, as each year. No joint has been neglected, and this year the focus will be on the ankle joint and our thanks go to Thomas Bauer who is in charge of this programme. Chers Collègues, Chers Amis, C est avec grand plaisir que nous accueillerons la SFA en 2014 à Luxembourg-Ville, capitale du Grand Duché de Luxembourg. Cette fois encore le bureau de la SFA autour de son président Olivier Courage, de son vice-président, Nicolas Graveleau, et de sa cellule scientifique, François Sirveaux et Geoffroy Nourissat, a réussi à concocter un programme scientifique exceptionnel avec des symposia sur les réparations méniscales et l instabilité acromioclaviculaire, des orateurs étrangers de renommée mondiale, des re-live surgeries, une journée recherche innovante, la journée SFA mouvement destinée à l évaluation fonctionnelles des pathologies intéressant l arthroscopiste, ainsi que la participation de nos voisins germanophones de l AGA. This time again SFA board with President Olivier Courage, Vice-President Nicolas Graveleau and the scientific committee including François Sirveaux and Geoffroy Nourissat succeeded to make an exceptional scientific programme with meniscal repair and acromio-clavicular instability symposia, world famous speakers, relive surgeries, an innovative research day, the SFA movement day dedicated to pathology functional evaluation for arthroscopic concerns, and the involvement of our German speaking neighbours of AGA. SFA Luxembourg 2014 will be one of the biggest medical congresses organised in this country. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
