OPENING OF MEETING Jia Jinsheng, President, ICOLD, greeted those present. He then delivered a speech in memory of three important ICOLD personalities: Herman Roo, ICOLD past Vice-President (Venezuela), Sven August Hultin, ICOLD past Vice-Président (Sweden), and Oscar Vega-Argüelles, Secretary General of the Mexican Committee. Michel de Vivo, Secretary General, ICOLD, then wished to express his thanks to the ICOLD family for their support after the death of his spouse in the crash of the plane in the way back to Paris from Rio de Janeiro, in June 2009. President Jia Jinsheng asked for one minute s silence in their memory. OUVERTURE DE LA RÉUNION Le Président de la CIGB, Jia Jinsheng, salue les présents. Votes were counted by Vice-Presidents I. Ekpo and G. Ruggeri. De Vivo stated that some amended pages had been distributed during the session. They referred to the following Items: Adjonction of Item 5.1, additions to Item 12.3 and to Item 12.20, and adjunctions of Items 12.21 to 12.23. The amended Agenda was unanimously approved. P. Mulvihill (New Zealand), Chairman of the Committee on Public Awareness and Education, requested for correcting Item 11, under 5 th World Water Forum, Istambul, Turkey, March 2009, by additing the following text (in italics):..dr. Sakamoto from JCOLD also participated in Session 3.2.1., while Peter Mulvihill (Chairman, ICOLD Ctee on Public Awareness & Education) was co-chair of Session 3.4.3. Contemporary Issues, Public Awareness and Stakeholder Participation for Sustainable Water Resources Management. The Minutes were unanimously approved, taking into account the modification of Item 11. 10 President Jia Jinsheng pointed out the good representation of ICOLD in the World Water Council, where Honorary President Luis Berga is a one of the Governors. Secretary General Michel de Vivo gave some information on the involvement of ICOLD in international events, such as for example during the Shanghai World Expo where ICOLD would share a booth along with WWC in September 2010. Video show. President Jia Jinsheng stated that the Board Meeting would be held in Beijing in September 2010 and that, after that, they would visit altogether the Shanghai Expo. Michel de Vivo reported that a round table on «Dams and Hydropower for Sustainable Development in Africa» was held on Sunday 23 May in Hanoi, just before this Executive Meeting. He said that such a round table on the same subject would be foreseen at each Annual Meeting. Le Président Jia Jinsheng note la bonne representation de la CIGB au Conseil Mondial de l Eau, où le Président Honoraire Luis Berga est l un des Gouverneurs. Le Secrétaire Général Michel de Vivo donne quelques informations sur la participation de la CIGB à des événements internationaux. New applications for membership (Constitution III, 1) 5.1. Nouvelles adhésions (Statuts III, 1) Central Office had received two formal applications for membership from Mozambique and Ukraine. N. Matsumoto, Vice-President, submitted the two applications. These two countries were elected by applause as 91 st and 92 nd members of ICOLD. Le Bureau Central a reçu deux demandes formelles d adhésion, du Mozambique et de l Ukraine. Le Vice-Président N. Matsumoto présente les deux demandes. Ces deux pays sont élus par applaudissements 91 et 92 èmes membres de la CIGB.

12 Words of thanks by S. Potashnyk (Ukraine). The delegate from Mozambique was not present at the Meeting due to visa problems. Secretary General Michel de Vivo hoped that new countries will join ICOLD soon, countries from Central Asia, Central Europe, or from Africa. Nominations must come from this zone only.
