QUESTION ONE: PARIS JOURNAL Last year a group of New Zealand students were lucky enough to go on a school trip to Paris. Their French teacher required them to keep a journal in French, so that they could record their impressions. Read Phillip s journal below. Answer in English the questions about the journal entry in the spaces provided. Full sentence answers are not required. Nous sommes arrivés à l aéroport Charles de Gaulle hier matin vers 6.00 heures, très fatigués après notre long vol. Heureusement les bagages nous ont suivis sans problème et on n a pas dû attendre longtemps à la douane. Aujourd hui je me suis senti beaucoup mieux, car j ai dormi pendant douze heures. Il faisait très beau et j étais très heureux de voir enfin les bâtiments magnifiques comme Notre Dame et le Louvre. Rester debout pendant si longtemps dans ce musée nous a donné mal aux pieds, mais c était aussi passionnant de pouvoir regarder les tableaux comme la Joconde si bien connus. Pendant l après-midi au Forum des Halles, un grand centre commercial, où la moitié des magasins se trouvent sous terre, j ai trouvé quelques cadeaux pour ma famille qui n étaient pas trop chers. You will be rewarded for providing: all the information requested detailed answers. Paris, le 26 septembre J adore Paris! Surtout manger ici! Nous prenons le petit déjeuner tous les jours à l hôtel. On peut commander un jus d orange d abord, puis on a des morceaux de pain français bien sûr, des pains au chocolat ou des croissants. Pour boire il y a du café (noir, crème ou au lait) ou un grand bol de chocolat chaud. C est délicieux et beaucoup plus intéressant que mon petit déjeuner chez moi. Mais ce sont des cafés que je trouve le plus intéressant. On est assis le plus souvent dehors sur la terrasse, d où on a une meilleure vue du trottoir, de la rue et des gens qui passent. J aime regarder des vêtements des Parisiens. Les frites dans les cafés ici sont moins grandes que chez nous. La seule chose que je n aime pas ici est qu il faut laisser un pourboire pour la serveuse ou le garçon de café. Je déteste ça! (a) What particularly impresses Samantha about Paris?
