This summer you are required to complete this packet in order to prepare for 7 th grade in the fall. The purpose of the packet is to continue to develop your French skills during the summer months through exposure to the language and by reinforcing skills developed throughout 6 th grade. In 7 th grade, there will be a stronger emphasis on speaking than there was in 6 th grade and summer practice with the language is essential. This packet will be collected and graded on the FIRST day of class in the fall. It will be worth a TEST GRADE of 100 points, 50 points for the review activities and 50 points for the story and activities. You will LOSE 3 POINTS for every day that it is not turned in. It will also be the focus of our classroom discussion throughout the first two weeks of school, as we review all of the topics covered in 6 th Grade. You may collaborate and work with peers on this packet; however, everyone must complete his or her own individual packet and submit it for a grade. Furthermore, you are NOT permitted to copy one another and if cheating is suspected, all students involved will receive a zero on the assignment. 7 Read the story and answer the questions in French. Mon Petit Poisson Rouge Voici Amélie. Amélie est une jeune fille très amusante et très gentille. Amélie a treize ans. Elle aime beaucoup sa famille. Elle a une très grande famille. Elle a deux frères et trois sœurs. Elle habite avec sa famille dans une grande maison à FrenchVille. Sa maison est bleue avec une grande porte rouge. Amélie aime beaucoup sa maison. Tout le monde aime sa maison. Elle invite très souvent ses amis à la maison. Ils adorent sa maison bleue et ils adorent jouer avec elle. Quand Amélie n est pas contente elle aime beaucoup regarder son poisson rouge. C est un petit poisson qui nage tous les jours dans un aquarium. Son poisson rouge s appelle «Trésor». Trésor a beaucoup de problèmes. Il n aime pas les poissons. Il est méchant avec les poissons. Il n aime pas les poissons, il n aime pas les chats, il n aime pas les chiens, il aime seulement les tortues. Un jour pour l anniversaire de Trésor Amélie a acheté un autre poisson. Un petit poisson noir et blanc. Le poisson était très beau. Le soir Trésor a mangé le poisson noir et blanc. Trésor aime être seul dans son aquarium bleu et vert. Amélie était très triste. Amélie n était pas contente avec son poisson rouge. 7
