2 Introduction L Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, l Université de Genève, M. Hansjörg Wyss, la Fondation Wyss et la famille Bertarelli ont uni leurs forces pour offrir à la Suisse romande un centre d excellence d envergure mondiale en matière de recherche et d enseignement des sciences de la vie. Cette démarche s inscrit dans un site exceptionnel du point de vue de sa situation géographique, de ses équipements, de son défi architectural et de son potentiel de développement futur. The Lausanne Polytechnic School of Switzerland (EPFL), the University of Geneva, Mr. Hansjörg Wyss, the Wyss Foundation and the Bertarelli family have joined forces to offer to French-speaking Switzerland a global center of excellence focusing on research and teaching in life sciences. This initiative is located in an exceptional setting in terms of geographical location, equipments, architectural challenge and potential development capacities. Campus Biotech s étend sur 4 hectares et se divise en deux parties. Au nord de l Avenue de Sécheron, sept bâtiments ont été construits ou rénovés et mis en service en 2007, au terme d un concours d architecture international dont le cahier des charges imposait la notion de Campus, soit une interaction fonctionnelle entre la recherche, le développement, l enseignement et l environnement d une entreprise internationale. L architecte Helmut Jahn, lauréat du concours, a organisé les espaces autour de trois malls dédiés à l accueil, à la circulation des personnes, aux échanges entre départements, à la restauration, les services aux occupants et la détente. Au sud de l Avenue de Sécheron demeurent trois grands bâtiments de l époque industrielle du début du XXe. Ce périmètre est appelé à un développement rapide, en cours d étude. Introduction Campus Biotech lies on 4 ha and is divided into two parts. At the north of Avenue de Secheron, seven buildings were erected or renovated and put into service in 2007, following an international architecture contest imposing the concept of a Campus involving a functional interaction between research, development, teaching capacities and the environment of an international firm. Architect Helmut Jahn, the winner of the contest, organized spaces around three malls dedicated to visitors reception, the circulation of people, exchanges among departments, catering, services to users and leisure. At the south of Avenue de Secheron, three large buildings dating back to the industrial era of the early 20th century have been kept. This area should be promptly developed; the project is under study.

Quoique pouvant accueillir des activités non strictement industrielles, le bailleur privilégiera les entreprises démontrant un lien avec l activité des Ecoles universitaires dont l installation sera effective fin Location Campus Biotech is located in an industrial area and may receive any activities relating to teaching, development and research, and their related services. Although some activities that are not of a strictly industrial nature may be accepted, the lessor will give priority to companies and undertakings showing a link with the activities of the University schools, whose settlement is scheduled for the end of Bureaux 620 Executive Terrasse 260 Terrasse Executive Totaux Sur la partie Nord du Campus, hormis les bâtiments d ores et déjà attribués à l EPFL et ses associés pour 30 ans, trois bâtiments sont mis en location : B1, B2, H4. Leur technologie répond aux critères de qualité les plus récents : air rafraîchi, faux planchers, faux plafonds, hauteur sous plafond de 3 mètres. Sur ce même périmètre, les dossiers de permis de construire sont prêts pour deux extensions couvrant m 2 supplémentaires et pouvant être livrés dans les trois ans, les fondations étant déjà réalisées. Sur la partie Sud, m 2 sont également disponibles dans un bâtiment industriel de caractère, entièrement rénové. 250 parkings sont à disposition. Buildings On the northern part of the Campus, apart from the buildings that already allocated to EPFL and its partners for 30 years, three buildings are put in rent, namely B1, B2, H4. Their technologies meet the most recent quality standards - cooled air, raised floors, suspended ceilings, 3 meters of ceiling height. On that very area, building permit applications are ready for two extensions covering an additional 9,000 sqm that can be delivered within three years, the foundation being laid already. On the southern part, 5,300 sqm are also available in an industrial building of character, fully renovated, including 250 parking spaces.
