Since the time we spend together is limited, attendance and active participation are mandatory. Three absences are tolerated. For each subsequent absence, the student s grade will be lowered by a letter: (A becomes B, B becomes C etc.) Students who miss class are responsible for work assigned on the missed day. Students will be required to attend the French Table and the French Club activities. There will be four in class exams. All exams will consist of short essays. There will be a final paper. The will be a 7 to 10 page typed and double space paper in French, on a French cultural aspect of your choice. The topic needs to be approved by your instructor. Assignment due dates are final. Please review the syllabus. There will be NO MAKE UP EXAMS. Please turn off your cell phone when in class. No use of cell phone is permitted in class. EVALUATION: Your final grade will be calculated according to the following breakdown.
