Andy WAHROL trough the
In the " trough the mirror " work, the question of the value of a video image as reflection of reality arises and in this particular case, when this video image sends back in real time what passes in front of the screen. The spectator is confronted with his own reflection as well as with the whole scene which takes place behind him. While he is invited by a text scrolling on the screen not to leave it of the look, the spectator is put in a state of waiting. Meanwhile, in the scene which takes place behind him, characters filmed in previously are inscrustés by an IT program. At first harmless, this inscrustations goes gradually towards the absurd. The question is to know at which moment the spectator will realize the trickery! SELF(L)IES
This work is constituted by a video screen, or by a multimedia mirror, sending back in real time the images of the showroom with a 3D video camera (type kinect). While words or sentences, which will have for only mission to get the attention of the spectator will be diffused in overprint on the image, a video inlay of characters will be made real time in the set behind the spectators. At first harmless people (visitors of exhibitions), the inlays will go towards more and more moved characters, to see, if the captation of the attention of the spectator is sufficient, striking characters (realities or imagination, Hitler or Harry Potter). The possibility of integrer of the modelled characters is not pushed aside.
