Old men and women and even toddlers are provided with mobiles. Moreover, the latest figures from the Regulatory Authority of Post and Telecommunications (Arpt) illustrates it perfectly. They are more than 35 million Algerians subscribed to mobile phone network in 2011, representing 95% penetration rate. In just one year, the number of subscribers increased by 2.5 million compared to 2010. These statistics demonstrate once again the place the mobile in Algerian society. The three operators have all seen the number of their clients increasing. The operator Djezzy, the first leading with 46.81% market share, with 16,490,690 subscribers, 1.4 million subscribers more than in 2010. Mobilis is ranked second, with 10,280,098 subscribers, and 29.18% market share, and 833,324 more than in 2010. Nedjma placed third and has 8,458,105 subscribers (24.01% market share) and won 212,107 subscribers and more. This demonstrates that there is just a tiny minority who do not subscribe to the mobile network.
