APPEL A PROJETS ACADEMIE 2 «SYSTEMES COMPLEXES» - UCA JEDI La mission des académies de l Idex UCA Jedi est de favoriser des recherches et des formations de haut niveau, innovantes et transdisciplinaires, avec pour objectif à moyen terme de faire d UCA une université de recherche compétitive au niveau international. Les cinq académies de UCA Jedi disposent d un budget de 380 k qui doit leur permettre de mener à bien cette mission. Au cours de l année 2016, deux appels à projets ont été lancés par l Académie 2 «Systèmes Complexes» ; le premier conduisant au financement de neuf projets ; le second, plus orienté sur des actions susceptibles de développer une animation scientifique au sein de l académie, aboutissant au financement de 23 projets. Dans la continuité et afin de favoriser le développement de projets de recherche ambitieux, le comité de pilotage de l académie des systèmes complexes ouvre son troisième appel à projets qui couvrira les thèmes scientifiques rentrant dans son cadre. Cet appel à projets est conçu comme un incubateur pour des actions innovantes et ambitieuses qui ne rentreraient pas forcément dans les critères de sélection des agences de recherche «classiques». Les actions émergentes ou les projets présentant un fort potentiel de développement, pouvant notamment conduire à un soutien au titre du Fonds d Excellence d UCA Jedi seront considérés avec un intérêt particulier. L académie n exclut pas de financer des projets qui ne relèveraient pas strictement de la transdisciplinarité ou des aspects structurants et innovants. Par ailleurs, le comité de pilotage rappelle que le périmètre de l académie dépasse le seul cadre des laboratoires de la fédération Döblin et encourage la soumission de projets de tout horizon. Le financement retenu se situera dans une fourchette indicative de 10k à 50k pour un an, éventuellement renouvelable si cela permet au projet de déboucher sur une action d envergure pour UCA Jedi.
Ce qui peut être financé : Les coûts éligibles incluent les consommables ; équipements ; services ; missions, invitations, rémunérations de stages et délégations (décharges d enseignement). Ce qui ne peut être financé : Les projets de type pédagogique, les frais de personnels (doctorants, post-doctorants). Calendrier Le 17 mai 2017 : ouverture de l appel. Le 16 juin 2017, midi : date limite de dépôt des dossiers de candidature. Mi-juillet 2017 : résultats de l appel. Critères d éligibilité Les demandeurs doivent justifier la capacité de leur projet à : transformer le paysage scientifique local à court et moyen terme ; structurer la recherche dans le domaine considéré ; accroître la visibilité locale et internationale de la recherche dans UCA ; avoir un fort impact scientifique. Les candidats mentionneront si une ou plusieurs autres académies sont concernées ou si l une d entre elles financent déjà en partie le projet. Critères d évaluation Les demandes seront examinées par le Conseil Scientifique de l Académie, avec l aide de rapporteurs extérieurs si nécessaire. Outre les critères d excellence scientifique et les critères d éligibilité ci-dessus, les points suivants seront pris en compte pour l évaluation : dans le cas d un projet transdisciplinaire la valeur ajoutée de la transdisciplinarité ; caractère innovant ; potentiel d attractivité pour les étudiants ; potentiel de développement en projet de grande échelle ; qualité de la démarche scientifique (open data, expériences reproductibles ) pertinence du budget requis avec les objectifs du projet. Suivi du projet financé Un rapport scientifique et financier devra être soumis à l issue du projet. Une présentation orale de ce bilan devant le CS et le CP de l Académie pourra être demandée. Un suivi du projet sera également mis en place au démarrage du projet et une participation à la communication sera demandée. CALL FOR PROPOSALS COMPLEX SYSTEMS ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE 2 - UCA JEDI The objective of the UCA JEDI Academies is to foster high-level, innovative, transdisciplinary research and training activities that will reinforce the role of the UCA as a high-profile international research university. The five academies of UCA JEDI have a budget of 380 k to help achieve this goal. Part of the UCA JEDI funding is dedicated to the development of innovative research and training programs, and the entire UCA community is invited to participate in these initiatives. During the past year, two calls for proposals were launched by the Complex Systems Academy; the first funded nine projects while the second, oriented more towards fostering scientific activity within the Academy, funded 23 projects. The steering committee of the Complex Systems Academy opens its third call for scientific proposals covering approaches or topics in any scientific discipline related to complex systems. The Academy envisions this call as an incubator for innovative and ambitious projects that may not be funded by classical research agencies. Emerging projects and those with outstanding development potential will be considered. The academy does not exclude financing projects that are not strictly transdisciplinary or with structuring and innovative aspects. In addition, the Steering Committee notes that the scope of the Academy goes beyond the scope of the Döblin Federation laboratories and encourages the submission of projects from all horizons. Funding will be between 10k and 50k for one year, renewable if the project demonstrates outstanding potential for the UCA JEDI framework.

Candidates should indicate if one or more other academies are involved or already contribute funding to the project. Evaluation criteria Proposals will be evaluated by the scientific committee of the academy, assisted by external reviewers if necessary). Besides scientific excellence and the eligibility criteria described above, the following points will be considered for evaluation: Added value of transdisciplinary approach, if applicable Innovative character Potential attractiveness for students Potential for large-scale research development Quality of the scientific approach (open data, reproducible research...) Suitability of budget for research objectives of the project Project follow-up Successful applicants are expected to provide scientific and financial reports at the end of the project. An oral presentation of the project report in front of the scientific council and steering committee of the academy may be requested. The follow-up requirements will be defined at the beginning of the project.
