DESCRIPTION Le Summary of Diabetes Self Care Activities (SDSCA) est un outil d auto évaluation multidimensionnel à 25 items mesurant la fréquence des actions d auto soins réalisées chez les diabétiques. La mesure s effectue sur la période de sept jours précédant la complétion du questionnaire. La version originale du SDSCA évalue cinq aspects du régime diabétique (alimentation générale, spécifique, exercices physiques, prise de médicaments et test sanguin) et a été développée par Schafer et al (1983). Les études plus récentes ont modifié l outil d évaluation en ajoutant des items tels que les soins de pieds et le tabagisme. Le SDSCA a la particularité de mesurer le niveau de soins autogérés et non l adhérence au régime prescrit. Les domaines évalués sont la diététique, l exercice physique, la mesure du taux de glucose sanguin, les soins de pieds et le tabagisme. FIABILITE La fiabilité de l instrument de mesure a été déterminée par la mesure de corrélation entre les différentes sous échelles (Internal Consistency). Cette mesure est modeste et se situe entre un coefficient r=0.2 et r = 0.76. La stabilité du test a été évaluée par une réédition du test (Test retest) après 6 mois. Les coefficients de corrélation sont peu élevés (de 0.40 à 0.78) montrant la faible stabilité du test à long terme. VALIDITE La validité concurrente (Concurrent Validity) a été déterminée par la comparaison du SDSCA à d autres mesures d auto soins; les corrélations sont élevées pour la sous échelle exercices physiques tandis que la corrélation est modérée pour la partie diététique et la mesure du taux sanguin de glucose. 2 B elgian Screening Tools II (BeST II) 2
CONVIVIALITE Le SDSCA est réalisé par questionnaire auto administré sous forme papier/crayon ou sous forme électronique.
