Séduits par le concept du solo-show dans ce haut lieu culturel, amateurs, collectionneurs, professionnels du monde de l'art étaient présents au rendez-vous pour le plaisir des exposants. Un pari réussi pour les organisateurs qui souhaitaient donner un nouvel élan au salon. Après avoir investi les chambres du White Hotel pour 4 éditions consécutives, il s'était laissé une année de réflexion pour se repenser. Une nouvelle forme, pour un nouveau concept: un salon de taille réduite rassemblant des solo-shows d'artistes sélectionnés par un comité. Inviter le spectateur à approcher l'expression artistique dans son individualité, tel fut le projet. Cela a été rendu possible grâce au soutien de la banque privée Puilaetco Dewaay, impliquée dans le domaine de l'art à travers son conseil en gestion de patrimoine artistique. Autre nouveauté de cette édition : les visiteurs ont eu l'occasion de voter tout au long du salon pour leur artiste préféré. Plus de votes ont été comptabilisés. C'est l'artiste bruxelloise Marie Rosen qui a remporté haut la main le Prix du Public Fondation Sisleyd'Ornano. Nouvelle direction, professionnalisme, sélection pointue, configuration sous le signe de la clarté, telles sont les caractéristiques de cette 1ère édition du salon du dessin contemporain, Art On Paper à BOZAR. Qui nous place cette année d emblée parmi les événements européens incontournables en dessin contemporain.

De eerste editie van Art on Paper, in samenwerking met Bozar (van 11 tot 13 september) was een groot succes, wat blijkt uit de zeer talrijke en diverse opkomst. Aangetrokken door het concept van solo-shows van tekenaars in dit cultureel mekka, waren kunstliefhebbers, verzamelaars, en professionals uit de kunstwereld aanwezig op dit salon, voor het plezier van de exposanten. Een geslaagde uitdaging voor de organisatoren die, na 4 opeenvolgende edities te hebben georganiseerd in de kamers van het White Hotel, zichzelf een jaar hebben gegeven om te reflecteren over hoe ze het salon een nieuwe impuls kunnen geven. Een nieuw formaat voor een nieuw concept: een in gereduceerde maat, het samenbrengen van solotentoonstellingen van kunstenaars gekozen door een selectiecomité. De kijker uitnodigen om de artistieke expressie te benaderen in zijn individualiteit, dat was het project. Dit werd mogelijk gemaakt met de steun van de private bank Puilaetco Dewaay, betrokken in de kunstwereld aan de hand van raadgeving in beheer van artistiek erfgoed. Ook nieuw in deze editie: de bezoekers hadden de mogelijkheid om te stemmen voor de solo-show van hun favoriete kunstenaar. Meer dan 1000 stemmen werden geregistreerd. Dit is de Brusselse kunstenaar Marie Rosen, die handig de Publieksprijsd'Ornano Sisley Foundation heeft gewonnen. Nieuwe leiding, professionaliteit, een zorgvuldige selectie en een overzichtelijke opstelling, dat zijn de kenmerken van deze eerste editie van de tentoonstelling voor hedendaagse tekenkunst, Art on Paper in BOZAR. Die dit jaar een plaats heeft verworven binnen de essentiële Europese evenementen voor de hedendaagse tekenkunst.

The first edition of Art on Paper in collaboration with Bozar (from 11 to 13 September) was a great success, with a very wide and diverse audience. Seduced by the concept of the solo-show in this cultural mecca, art lovers, collectors and professionals in the art world were present at the fair to the pleasure of exhibitors. A successful challenge for the organizers who wanted to give a new drive to the fair which, after occupying rooms at the White Hotel for 4 consecutive editions, had taken a year off to reflect and rethink the project. A new format for a new concept: a fair reduced in size, gathering solo shows of artists selected by a committee. Inviting the viewer to approach the artistic expression in its individuality, that was the project. This was made possible through the support of the private bank Puilaetco Dewaay, active in the field of expertise of art. Also new in this edition: visitors had the opportunity to vote for their favorite artist. More than 1,000 votes were recorded. It is the Brussels artist Marie Rosen who won the Audience Award of the Ornano Sisley Foundation. New leadership, professionalism, a careful artistic selection, a clear configuration, these are the characteristics of this first edition of the exhibition of contemporary drawing, Art On Paper at BOZAR. Of this year which has placed us among the essential European events in contemporary drawing.
