Mozart et Beethoven, Franck ou Ravel, Chostakovitch, notamment, seront revigorés par le dynamisme d une interprétation jeune et enthousiaste, caractéristique de chacun des interprètes. Parcours à travers les lieux également, la Chapelle Musicale, la Scandinavian School - ou ancien château de Meeûs - et le Domaine Royal se feront tour à tour les hôtes d un public privilégié accueilli pour trois concerts en plein air, dans une nature en lisière de forêt de Soignes. Une Garden-Party qui n attend plus que vous et qui se terminera en fête par un walking dinner! Een unieke muzikale wandeling op het domein van Argenteuil De jonge solisten van de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth nodigen u uit voor een reis door de tijd, een boeiende wandeling om enkele treffende bladzijden te (her)ontdekken die in 200 jaar muziekgeschiedenis geschreven werden. Mozart en Beethoven, Franck, Ravel of nog Shostakovitch worden weer volop tot leven gebracht door de dynamiek van jonge en enthousiaste vertolkingen, eigen aan elke muzikant. Het is meteen ook een wandeling langs bijzondere oorden. De Muziekkapel, de Scandinavian School (het vroegere kasteel de Meeûs) en het Koninklijk Domein onthalen om beurt een bevoorrecht publiek voor drie openluchtconcerten in een kleurrijke natuur aan de rand van het Zoniënwoud. 4 Programme artistique Artistiek Programma Une 9 ème saison qui se termine depuis le lancement du nouveau programme en 2004! 56 jeunes issus de 24 nationalités auront participé à cette saison riche en concerts, productions et projets de qualité. Le printemps est marqué, comme à son habitude à la Chapelle Musicale, par une série de masterclasses et d examens publics. Ces séances, par leur spécificité, ont un intérêt évident pour un public de mélomanes ou de personnes intéressées par la pédagogie. Le mois de mai est par ailleurs centré autour d une manifestation qui rayonne chaque année à la même période, le Concours Reine Elisabeth. Il est cette année consacré au piano et la Chapelle Musicale accueillera pendant les deux dernières semaines de mai les 12 finalistes du Concours. Nous souhaitons au Concours, un de nos fidèles partenaires, et aux amateurs de cette épreuve, une session de qualité et de découverte. Au sein de notre programmation de ces trois prochains mois, permettez-moi de mentionner plus particulièrement : La représentation des Mamelles de Tiresias de Poulenc au Festival d Aix-en- Provence, production dans laquelle la Chapelle est un des coproducteurs et accueillera, en janvier 2014, avec la Monnaie, ce spectacle à la Monnaie. La riche programmation du Festival du Vexin à l égard des jeunes solistes de la Chapelle Musicale. ET enfin une Garden Party cette année qui sera privatisée et donc plus discrète mais avec un programme surprise très attractif. La Chapelle Musicale se prépare par ailleurs à sa prochaine tournée internationale, le Voyage Musical Reine Elisabeth 2013 qui se déroulera du 17 au 24 septembre et pour lequel notamment 3 des Maîtres et 10 jeunes solistes en résidence feront partie de cette aventure musicale exceptionnelle. Permettez-moi, fidèles de la Chapelle Musicale, de vous souhaiter un printemps doux et musical. Bernard de Launoit Executive President Het 9 de seizoen van de Muziekkapel loopt op zijn einde, sinds het nieuwe programma in 2004 van start ging! 56 jongeren met 24 verschillende nationaliteiten zullen deelgenomen hebben aan dit seizoen rijk aan prachtige concerten, producties en projecten van kwaliteit. De lente wordt gekenmerkt, zoals gewoonlijk bij de Muziekkapel, door een reeks masterclasses en openbare examens. Deze bijzondere sessies hebben een onmiskenbaar belang voor een publiek van melomanen of voor al wie interesse heeft voor pedagogie. De maand mei draait trouwens helemaal rond een evenement dat ieder jaar in dezelfde periode veel weerklank krijgt, de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd. Dit jaar is de piano weer aan zet en de Muziekkapel zal tijdens de laatste twee weken van mei de 12 finalisten van de wedstrijd huisvesten. Wij wensen de wedstrijd, één van onze trouwe partners, en zijn enthousiaste liefhebbers een editie van kwaliteit en ontdekkingen toe. Ik wou graag ook nog even de aandacht vestigen op enkele hoogtepunten van ons programma voor de volgende drie maanden: De opvoering van les Mamelles de Tirésias van Poulenc tijdens het Festival van Aix-en-Provence, een productie waarvan de Muziekkapel een coproducent is en die ze in januari 2014, samen met de Muntschouwburg, ook in de Munt zal onthalen. Het programma van het Festival du Vexin, dat zeer boeiend belooft te worden voor de jonge solisten van de Muziekkapel. EN tot slot een Garden Party, die dit jaar privé is en dus op een meer bescheiden schaal, maar met een heel bijzonder aantrekkelijk verrassingsprogramma. De Muziekkapel bereidt zich daarnaast voor op haar volgende muzikale tournee, De Muzikale Reis Koningin Elisabeth 2013, van 17 tot 24 september. Drie Meesters en tien jonge solisten in residentie zullen deelnemen aan dit denderende muzikale avontuur. 5 Artistic Program The 9 th season since the new program was launched in 2004 is ending! Fifty-six young people of 24 nationalities will have participated in this tremendous season rich in concerts, productions and high-quality projects. At the Music Chapel, springtime is usually marked by a series of masterclasses and public examinations. These sessions are, by their special nature, of obvious interest to music lovers or those interested in teaching. In addition, May is centred to a prestigious event, the Queen Elisabeth Competition, that always takes place at this time of the year. The competition is devoted to piano this year, and the Music Chapel will host the 12 finalists during the last two weeks of May. We wish the Competition, one of our loyal partners, and its enthusiastic public an outstanding event, full of discovery. In our schedule for these next three months, allow me to highlight: The performance of les Mamelles de Tiresias by Poulenc at the Festival d Aixen-Provence, a co-production of the Chapel, who will also host this event with and at La Monnaie in January The rich program of the Festival du Vexin, featuring several young soloists from the Music Chapel. AND finally, a Garden Party that this year will be private and so more discreet, but with a very enchanting surprise program. In addition, the Music Chapel is preparing for its next international tour, the 2013 Queen Elisabeth Musical Voyage, which will take place from 17 to 24 September. Three of the Masters and ten of our young soloists-in-residence will be part of this prestigious musical adventure. 11 Festival Resonances to Spring 2013 will see the 4th Resonances Festival taking place in the provinces of Brabant Wallon and Namur in Belgium. Resonances is an annual international chamber music festival that brings together some of the worlds finest chamber music players and soloists for a week of music-making and concerts in Belgium. There have been some extraordinary performances in the first three years of Resonances and the exciting musical meetings between the musicians were an inspiration. This year we will be working with children from schools in Louvain-la-Neuve and Ciney. The 2013 workshops will be dedicated to the life and work of Tchaikovsky and the children will be given a close introduction to Souvenir de Florence, the magnificent string sextet which will be performed by festival musicians in the opening concert on May 2. For the first time at Resonances, we have invited a young string quartet to participate in the festival. The festival concerts will take place at la Ferme du Biéreau in Louvain-La-Neuve, in Ottignies at the Grange du Douaire and at the Château de Halloy near Ciney. Schumann Sonata No. 2 in G minor, for piano, op. 22 L. van Beethoven Sonata No. 23 in F minor Appassionata, for piano, op. 57 Cette jeune pianiste belge, qui avait enthousiasmé le public du Festival lors de son récital en 2011, a gagné en 2012 les Premiers prix de quatre compétitions internationales, en Espagne, Italie, Allemagne et Belgique! Une ascension fulgurante que le Festival du Vexin est fier d avoir accompagnée. Poulenc Les Mamelles de Tirésias In 1958, Benjamin Britten programmed an opera by his friend Francis Poulenc for that year s Aldeburgh Festival. His festival had a tradition of performing new opera - not just by Britten - and over twenty years, an established team of singers, directors and designers had produced many works for the first time in the atmospheric little Jubilee Hall in Aldeburgh. Due to the space limitations, Britten decided to arrange the orchestral score of Les Mamelles de Tiresias into a version for 2 pianos which he and Poulenc would play. Peter Pears took the role of the husband (transposed up for tenor) and there was also a new translation of the libretto made by himself, Britten and the singer/designer Colin Graham.
