Cette phrase du célèbre ecrivain Gustave Flaubert reprend l idée que tout le monde se fait de la Tunisie, à savoir un pays ouvert, tolérant et accueillant grâce à une histoire trois fois millénaire. Une terre magique qui a tant séduit les étrangers à travers les temps, et un air qui vient d être enrichi par une bouffée de liberté tant attendue et espérée. Elle a évolué de 3010 MTND en 2006 à MTND en Le secteur IEEE compte 370 entreprises de 10 emplois et plus et un effectif de personnes, soit 16% des emplois des industries manufacturières. Les entreprises totalement exportatrices sont au nombre de 247 unités employant personnes, soit 88% des emplois du secteur. Le nombre d entreprises en partenariat est passé de 153 unités en 2005 à 240 en Une croissance des échanges extérieurs à deux chiffres: Les importations du secteur sont passées de 3264 MTND en 2006 à MTND en 2010, soit un taux de croissance annuel moyen de 13%. Sur la même période, les exportations ont augmenté de 2661 MTND en 2006 à MTND en 2010, soit un taux de croissance annuel moyen de 18%. Les exportations du secteur des industries électriques, électroniques et de l électroménager maintiennent une croissance forte et régulière notamment grâce à l effort d intégration. Ces 600 entreprises occupent personnes dont relèvent des entreprises totalement exportatrices. Le partenariat dans le secteur a connu un développement appréciable. En effet, le nombre total d entreprises à participation étrangère (partielle ou totale) est passé de 110 entreprises en 2005 à 190 unités en 2012, et le nombre d entreprises dont le capital est détenu à 100% par des étrangers est passé de 46 à 120 entreprises durant la 46 même période.
