Méthode EXAO Diode Zener LM335 1 Présentation La diode Zener LM335 présente une tension d avalanche directement proportionnelle à la température absolue à raison de 10 mv.k -1. C -1 3 Chaîne de mesure, réglages et courbe d étalonnage Le montage qui suit a pour objectif l obtention d une tension comprise entre 0 et 5 V qui soit l image de la température sur une plage de 5 C à 60 C. Le schéma indiqué ci-dessous permet cette amplification. Les explications qui le suivent se basent sur les fonctionnalités de la «Platine MPI» (Réf. 185 321). La fonction de transfert après amplification est ensuite donnée. La courbe nominale d étalonnage correspondante est située entre les courbes maximale et minimale qui se déduisent de la tolérance sur tension de travail nominale à 25 C. 3.1 Chaîne de mesure FRANÇAIS 2
Méthode EXAO Diode Zener LM335 3.2 Réglages La diode Zener LM335 a une tension inverse théorique de 2,98V à +25 C. En pratique, cette tension est comprise entre 2,92V et 3,04V. Le LM335 a une tension inverse (Vc) de 2,68V à 5 C et de 3,33V à +60 C. La variation de tension est donnée à 10mV/ C. Pour obtenir 0V en sortie à 5 C, il faut soustraire 2,68V à la tension inverse du capteur (Vc). C est ce que fait le montage soustracteur à partir d une tension de décalage de l origine (Vo) ajustée par potentiomètre à 2,68V. La variation de tension dans la plage de température [+60 C ; 5 C] est de 3,33 2,68 = 0,65V. Pour obtenir en fin de chaîne d amplification une tension (Vs) allant de 0V à +5V, il faut amplifier la tension en sortie de soustracteur (V1) [0V ; +0,65V]. Le gain de l amplificateur est égal à 5 / 0,65 : soit 7,69. Le montage amplificateur à gain positif permet d obtenir cette valeur en ajustant la résistance de contre réaction 67 kω. Oter le cavalier de l amplificateur, placer les pointes de touche ohmmètre sur les points test, régler la valeur de la résistance de contre réaction en utilisant les deux résistances ajustables, puis remettre le cavalier. La résistance de 200 kω permet d atteindre rapidement la valeur souhaitée. La résistance de 10 kω permet de faire un réglage fin. La plage de fonctionnement du LM335 est donnée entre 400μA et 5 ma. Dans le cas le plus défavorable, à 3,33V, la tension aux bornes de la résistance de polarisation est de 5,12 3,33 = 1,79V. L intensité dans le LM335 est alors de 1,79 / 3900 = 459μA. Dans l autre extrême, à 2,68V, l intensité dans le LM335 est de (5,12 2,68) / 3900 = 625μA. 3.3 Fonction de transfert et courbe d étalonnage V S = 0,3845 + 7,69.10 2 θ. EXAO method LM335 Zener diode 1 Presentation The LM335 Zener diode shows an avalanche breakdown voltage directly proportional to the absolute temperature at the rate of 10 mv.k -1. C -1 3 Measuring system, adjustments and calibration curve The objective of the following set-up is to obtain a voltage between 0 and 5 V, which is the image of the temperature within a range of -5 C to 60 C. The diagram shown below enables this amplification. The explanations that follow are based on the functionality of the "MPI Mounting Plate" (Part no. 185 321). The transfer function after amplification is given thereafter. EXAO method LM335 Zener diode 3.2 Adjustments The LM335 Zener diode has an inverse theoretical voltage of 2.98 V at +25 C. In practice, this voltage is between 2.92 V and 3.04 V. The LM335 has an inverse voltage (V C ) of 2.68 V at -5 C and 3.33 V at +60 C. The voltage variation is given at 10 mv/ C. To obtain 0V output at -5 C, 2.68V must be subtracted from the inverse voltage (V C ) of the sensor. This is exactly what the subtractor set-up does from the source offset voltage (V O ) adjusted to 2.68V by the potentiometer. The voltage variation in the temperature range [+60 C; -5 C] is 3.33-2.68 = 0.65V. To obtain a voltage (V S ) ranging from 0V to +5V at the end of the amplification system, the output voltage of the subtractor must be amplified (V 1 ) [0V;+0.65V]. The amplifier gain is equal to 5 / 0.65: i.e. 7.69. The positive gain amplifier set-up helps obtain this value by adjusting the degenerating resistor to 67 kω. Remove the jumper from the amplifier, place the tips of the ohmmeter on the test points, adjust the value of the degenerating resistor by using the two adjustable resistors and then put the jumper back. A resistance of 200 kω helps quickly attain the desired value. A resistance of 10 kω helps carry out fine adjustments. The operating range of LM335 is given between 400µA and 5mA. In the most unfavourable case at 3.33V, the voltage at the terminals of the bias resistor is 5.12 3.33 = 1.79V. The current in the LM335 is 1.79 / 3900 = 459µA.
