Teaching notes As a starter you could project the photo and the questions on p.2 for students to translate the questions. If they need more support, you could give them either activity A or B on p.1, depending on their abilities. Next, project or hand out the photo card on p.2, explaining that during the speaking exam (for AQA), they would only be able to see questions 1, 2 and 3. Questions 4 and 5 would be asked but they wouldn t see them written down. The students can then work in pairs or groups to write a short answer for each question. This can be done with or without the support sheet on pp.3 4. You could also ask them to try without the support sheet first and then improve their answers with it. To make sure they have understood the expressions on the support sheet, you could then ask them to translate their answers into English or to annotate the support sheet with the English meanings. Students can then rehearse their questions and answers by interviewing each other.
