In French the words for some are du, de la and des. Look at the food items in the list above and use the rules below to work out how to say some for each food/drink. Use du if the word is preceded by le eg. le fromage = cheese so du fromage = some cheese Use de la if the word is preceded by la e.g. so la viande = meat de la viande = some meat Use des if the word is preceded by les e.g. les carottes = carrots so des carottes = some carrots 8
