1 Succès sans précédent pour la 10ème édition de la Mission Annuelle au TECHNION, Israel Institute of Technology, organisée par Muriel TOUATY, Directrice Générale du Technion France qui s est déroulée du 15 au 18 mai 2015, en Israël : «Applying BIG DATA [la suite]». [English version below] La délégation de la Mission Annuelle Technion France participants au plus haut niveau ont participé à cette édition parmi lesquels Veolia, Sanofi, Safran, Microsoft Ventures, Dial-Once, Groupe Lafarge, ALMA Consulting, l Université Paris-Saclay, Ecole Polytechnique, Institut Mines-Télécom, Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), CEA LIST, Groupe Freevy/Edenvy, FB&Cie, JEMS Group, EDIS Consulting, Quantmetry, Connected Health Monaco, Université du Luxembourg-LCSB, la Mairie de Mulhouse, INRIA, Métropole Nice Côte-d Azur, l Ambassade de France en Israël, SHD Conseil, Prolog Ingénierie, SIGT ainsi qu Edith Cresson, ancien Premier Ministre et Docteur Honoris Causa du Technion faisaient partie de la délégation. Cette édition s est concentrée autour des thèmes de Médecine Personnalisée, Mobile Health, E-Santé, Smart Cities, Smart Grids, Green Tech, Objets Connectés, Digital Media et Télécom, Humanitaire, Social et Education Personnalisée. Pendant 3 jours, du Vendredi 15 mai au Lundi 18 mai, la délégation a eu l opportunité de suivre un programme de grande qualité qui lui a permis de découvrir le Campus du Technion par des intervenants clés - dans des domaines scientifiques et technologiques pluridisciplinaires.

2 Le samedi a été consacré à une approche culturelle et spirituelle à Jérusalem avec la visite du Mont des Oliviers, du Saint Sépulcre et du Mur des Lamentations. Puis la délégation s est rendue au Naztech (Nazareth Business Incubator Center, NBIC) l incubateur de start-up de Nazareth pour assister à une présentation de Fadi Swidan, CEO sur le NBIC et plus particulièrement sur son programme d accélération ciblant la communauté arabe et visant à combler le «gap d entreprenariat technologique» entre arabes et juifs en Israël, la délégation a également assisté à des pitchs de start-up incubées au NBIC. Le Dimanche a été dédié aux visites sur le campus du Technion. La journée a commencé par une présentation générale du Technion par le Prof. Wayne Kaplan, Vice-président de la Recherche suivit par plusieurs conférences sur le thème «Du laboratoire au marché» pour le reste de la matinée. Les visites au sein des différents centres de recherche du Technion ont occupé l après midi autour de trois groupes : «Smart Cities and Green» regroupé autour des thématiques de la ville intelligente et des technologies vertes avec entre autres la visite du VizLab du Prof. Dafna Fisher. Le groupe «E-Health, Mobile Health and Personalized Medicine» centré sur les thématiques de médecine personnalisée, santé mobile et e-santé à lui pu visiter le laboratoire de systèmes immunologiques du Prof. Shai Shen-Orr et rencontrer le Prof. Hossam Haick du département d Ingénierie Chimique et de l Institut de Nanotechnologie Russel Berrie. Le groupe «Big Data & Healthcare Analytics» a quant à lui notamment rencontré le Prof. Avidgor Gal de la Faculté d Ingénierie Industriel et de Management. Le Lundi, la délégation a visité des start-up et des entreprises leaders dans leurs domaines à Herzliya et à Tel- Aviv. Elle a ainsi assisté à une présentation d Itai Levinson, Directeur Business Développement de ReWalk Robotics, la start-up qui a développé un exosquelette permettant aux personnes paraplégiques de remarcher. Puis ensuite le centre R&D de Microsoft Israël ainsi que l entreprise Infinidat. Enfin, la délégation a bénéficié d une dernière visite guidée sur le campus Azrieli Technion Sarona à Tel-Aviv qui abrite le «startup international MBA program» du Technion. Des rendez-vous personnalisés ont également été organisés en parallèle du programme selon les désidératas des participants de la délégation. Un dîner de Gala, le dimanche 17 mai - en présence de la Gouvernance du Technion dont notamment le Président, le Prof. Peretz Lavie, du Maire de Haïfa, Monsieur Yona Lahav, de l Ambassadeur de France en Israël, Monsieur Patrick Maisonnave et d invités de marque, notamment la délégation de la CPU (Conférence des Présidents d Universités), invitée par le Technion France a clôturé cette mission exceptionnelle. Cette mission avait pour but de mettre en interface directe les meilleurs experts du TECHNION avec les membres de la délégation sur des sujets d intérêt commun afin de développer et de concrétiser des partenariats stratégiques entre l écosystème français et le TECHNION. Cette mission fut un franc succès, comme en attestent de nombreux témoignages recueillis :

4 [ENGLISH VERSION] Unprecedented success for the 10 th edition of the Annual Mission at the TECHNION, Israel Institute of Technology, held by Muriel TOUATY, Technion France General Director from May 15 to May 18, 2015 in Israel: Applying BIG DATA [la suite]. The delegation of the Technion France 2015 Annual Mission 60 participants at the highest level were part of this edition, including Veolia, Sanofi, Safran, Microsoft Ventures, Dial-Once, Groupe Lafarge, ALMA Consulting, l Université Paris-Saclay, Ecole Polytechnique, Institut Mines-Télécom, Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), CEA LIST, Groupe Freevy/Edenvy, FB&Cie, JEMS Group, EDIS Consulting, Quantmetry, Connected Health Monaco, Université du Luxembourg-LCSB, Mulhouse Town Hall, INRIA, Métropole Nice Côte-d Azur, France Embassy in Israel, SHD Conseil, Prolog Ingénierie, SIGT Edith Cresson, former Prime Minister and Docteur Honoris Causa of the Technion, was part of the delegation. This edition was focused around the following themes: Personalized Medicine, Mobile Health, E-Health, Smart Cities, Smart Grids, Green Tech, Connected Objects, Digital Media and Telecom, Humanitarian, Social and Personalized Education. For 3 days, from Friday 15 to Monday 18 May, the members of the delegation benefited from a high quality program allowing them to discover the Technion campus through Technion key actors, in multidisciplinary scientific and technological fields.

5 Saturday started with a spiritual and cultural approach to Jerusalem with the visit of Mount Olivet, the church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Western Wall. Then the delegation went to Naztech (Nazareth Business Incubator Center NBIC) in Nazareth and attended a presentation from Fadi Swidan, CEO, on the NBIC and particularly on its Acceleration Program targeting the Arab community and aiming to close the "gap of technology entrepreneurship" between Arabs and Jews in Israel. The delegation also listened to pitches from start-ups incubated at the NBIC. Sunday was dedicated to the visits on the Technion campus. The day began with a general presentation of the Technion by Prof. Wayne Kaplan, Vice President for Research followed by conferences around the theme "From the lab to the market place" for the rest of the morning. The visits at the Technion research centers took place in the afternoon around three themelinked groups; "Smart Cities and Green" visited among others VizLab, the laboratory headed by Prof. Dafna Fisher. The "EHealth, Mobile Health and Personalized Medicine group visited the immunological systems laboratory of Prof. Shai Shen-Orr and met with Prof. Hossam Haick from the Chemical Engineering department and the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute. The Big Data & Healthcare Analytics group notably met Prof. Avigdor Gal of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management. On Monday, the delegation visited startups and leading companies in their fields in Herzliya and Tel Aviv. They attended a presentation from Itai Levinson Business Development Director at ReWalk Robotics, the startup that developed an exoskeleton helping paraplegic people to walk again. They then visited the R&D center of Microsoft Israel and the company Infinidat in Herzliya. Finally, the delegation had a last visit on the Azrieli Technion Sarona campus in Tel Aviv, which hosts the "International MBA startup program" of the Technion. Personalized appointments were organized in parallel to the program according to the desiderata of the delegation participants. A Gala dinner on Sunday, May 17 - in presence of the Technion Governance including the President, Prof. Peretz Lavie, the Mayor of Haifa, Mr. Yona Lahav, the Ambassador of France in Israel, Mr. Patrick Maisonnave and distinguished guests including the delegation of the CPU (Conference of University Presidents) invited by Technion France closed this exceptional mission. This mission aimed to put in direct interface, TECHNION best experts with the members of the delegation on issues of common interest in order to develop and implement strategic partnerships between the French ecosystem and the TECHNION.
