1 PRESS RELEASE EEX approved as Registered Reporting Mechanism Leipzig, 14 September 2015 The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has officially been approved as Registered Reporting Mechanism by the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) on 11 September EEX will also serve as RRM for other exchanges of the EEX Group: Gaspoint Nordic and Powernext. The authorisation as an RRM is a prerequisite for offering data reporting services to market participants in the context of the Regulation on Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT). From 7 October onwards, all orders submitted to and transactions concluded on an Organised Market Place (OMP) such as the exchanges of EEX Group will have to be reported to ACER. EEX Group will support their trading participants in fulfilling these obligations by offering data reporting services as of this date. All reports on the markets of EEX, Powernext and Gaspoint Nordic will be conducted through a single technical infrastructure. With this step, EEX Group contributes to enhancing transparency in the energy wholesale markets while reducing the complexity and operating expenses for their customers. Page 1

The products offered all have short maturity ranging from within day to month ahead. Gaspoint Nordic provides a market place to producers, retailers, energy companies, trading representatives and large consumers on which they can buy or sell natural gas anonymous and with no credit risk. Trading at Gaspoint Nordic is based on continuous trading and is performed electronically through an internet based trading system. This market model promotes further competition and transparency hence contributing to a dynamic gas market. Gaspoint Nordic supports market based balancing in cooperation with the Danish TSO, Energinet.dk by offering extended trading hours in case of a gas supply crisis. Since January 2015 Energinet.dk and the European Energy Exchange, EEX share joint ownership of Gaspoint Nordic. 3 PRESSEMITTEILUNG EEX als Registered Reporting Mechanism zugelassen Leipzig, 14. September 2015 Die European Energy Exchange (EEX) wurde am 11. September 2015 von der Agentur für die Zusammenarbeit der Energieregulierungsbehörden (ACER) offiziell als Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM) zugelassen. Gleichzeitig wird die EEX auch als RRM für weitere Börsen der Gruppe, Gaspoint Nordic und Powernext, fungieren. Gemäß der Verordnung über die Integrität und Transparenz des Energiegroßhandelsmarkts (Regulation on Market Integrity and Transparency REMIT) können RRMs Reporting-Dienstleistungen für ihre Marktteilnehmer anbieten. Ab dem 7. Oktober müssen alle Kauf- und Verkaufsgebote, die an einem sogenannten Organisierten Marktplatz (Organized Market Place OMP) wie den Handelsplätzen der EEX-Gruppe geschlossen werden, an ACER gemeldet werden. Die EEX-Gruppe, unterstützt ihre Handelsteilnehmer bei der Erfüllung dieser Verpflichtung, indem sie ihren Kunden ab diesem Stichtag Reporting-Dienstleistungen anbietet. Sämtliche Meldungen an den Märkten von EEX, Gaspoint Nordic und Powernext werden über eine einheitliche technische Infrastruktur abgewickelt. Mit diesem Schritt trägt die EEX-Gruppe zur Transparenz am Energiegroßhandelsmarkt bei und reduziert gleichzeitig Komplexität und operativen Aufwand für ihre Marktteilnehmer. Page 3

Gaspoint Nordic bietet Produzenten, Händlern, Energieunternehmen, Handelsvertretern und Großverbrauchern einen Marktplatz, an dem sie Erdgas anonym und ohne Ausfallrisiko kaufen oder verkaufen können. Der Handel an der Gaspoint Nordic basiert auf einem kontinuierlichen Handel und wird elektronisch über ein webbasiertes Handelssystem durchgeführt. Dieses Marktmodell fördert den Wettbewerb und die Transparenz, da es zu einem dynamischen Gasmarkt beiträgt. Gaspoint Nordic unterstützt das marktbasierte Balancing in Zusammenarbeit mit dem dänischen Übertragungsnetzbetreiber Energinet.dk, indem sie erweiterte Handelszeiten im Falle einer Gasversorgungskrise anbietet. Seit Januar 2015 werden die Anteile an der Gaspoint Nordic gemeinsam von Energinet.dk und der European Energy Exchange, EEX gehalten. 5 COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE EEX agréé en tant que RRM par l ACER Leipzig, le 14 septembre 2015 European Energy Exchange (EEX) a été officiellement agréé le 11 septembre 2015 en tant qu entité de transmission des données (RRM Registered Reporting Mechanisms) par l ACER l Agence de coopération des régulateurs de l'énergie. EEX exercera également le rôle de RRM auprès de Gaspoint Nordic et de Powernext, membres du groupe EEX. Ce statut de RRM est une condition préalable pour proposer des services de reporting dans le cadre de la Régulation sur l Intégrité et la Transparence du Marché (REMIT Regulation on Market Integrity and Transparency). A partir du 7 octobre, tous les ordres et les transactions entrés sur un marché organisé (Organised Market Place ou OMP) devront être transmis à l ACER. En tant qu OMP, les bourses du groupe EEX offrent dès lors la possibilité à leurs membres de souscrire à un service de reporting pour les aider à remplir leurs obligations réglementaires. Les rapports de marché d EEX, de Gaspoint Nordic et de Powernext destinés à être envoyés à l ACER seront mis en forme à travers la même infrastructure technique. Cette étape permet aux bourses du groupe EEX de contribuer à la transparence des marchés de l énergie tout en facilitant l application de la réglementation et en limitant les coûts opérationnels pour leurs membres.
