1 COURSES OPEN TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT THE IAE OF MONTPELLIER ACADEMIC YEAR Bachelor level LICENCE Bachelor level MASTER Graduate level

2 Dear Student, You may select courses within one of the main studies programs mentioned below, according to your own level in your home university. Licence and courses correspond to a third year of higher education studies (Bachelor level). The First Year and Second Year of Master Degree courses correspond to graduate level. Only some courses in the Second Year of Master Degree are open to exchange students depending on the number of places available and the approval by the corresponding programme coordinators. Each semester, the IAE offers 36 hours of French as Foreign language courses (FLE) which are worth 6 ECTS credits. DESCRIPTION OF THE VARIOUS UNITS 1. Organization of the timetable At the level of the Licence and Master, each semester leads to obtaining 5 UE (Unités d Enseignements a teaching module), representing a total of 30 ECTS. The teaching modules (UEs) will be generally broken up into 2 half-ues according to the following diagram: 1 UE = 36 hrs = 6 ECTS ½ UE (18 hours) the first subject ½ UE (18 hours) - the second subject ½ UE thus represents 6 courses of 3hrs, that is to say 18hrs of classroom teaching. The teaching of a half-ue will be normally organized in 6 consecutive weeks of 3hr classes followed by an examination during the seventh week. The duration of teaching and evaluation of a half-ue is thus 7 weeks. One semester representing 6 UEs covers 14 weeks (twice 7 weeks). The second semester will follow without any particular transition, the break between the two being disconnected from the school holidays. 2. Evaluation and Transcript of Records The students will have to take an exam at the end of each half-ue. The duration can vary

3 between 1hr and 3hrs. Monitoring: the teacher of the half-ue concerned will supervise his or her own examination; Each half-ue will be validated by obtaining a score at least equal to 10/20. If the score obtained is lower than 10/20, the student will have to take the exam again in a repeat session. If the score in the repeat session is still lower than 10/20, he or she will not obtain the UE. A statement of results (modules obtained) will be delivered at the end of each semester. 3.
